  2. AMEN!!!! You are so right. And then u hear they're human they made a mistake. There is such a difference between being human and making a mistake, and MAKING A BAD CHOICE!!!! We obviously all had some sort of food issue or wldnt be here but some of us made good choices and some of us made bad choices. And some people need to hear the hard truth from someone.

  3. There is a difference between making mistakes and making bad choices. I'm leaving it at that. Bc I don't have nothing nice to say. A prescription diet is to be followed. If u take too more pills then prescribed what happens? U can die. This is not a choice it's a prescription. And hearing someone say we're all human yes we are. But it's not a mistake it's a really bad choice. I wish you nothing but the best from here on out and I'm not here to make you feel bad but to make sure you know that this could have seriously messed u up or killed u!!! Sometimes hearing the truth is what people need to not do it ever again and follow the prescribed diet so if my truthful thoughts succeed in this. That's what I want. I'm not putting her down. I'm simply speaking what she asked of when she posted on a public forum and that's. the truth about what she has done and how dangerous it was. But mistake no that's not a mistake being human no that's not being human that's making a poor choice. Is it human for someone to drink and drive and kill someone????? No that's a bad choice. Is it human to be a drug addict. No it's a bad choice. We need to learn the difference and that we have choices in this yes it's hard believe me I know I love food and I cook for my family every night I bake for them all the time. And would I love to have a bite ooooooohhh heck yeahhhhh. But I know I had this surgery for a reason and that was to start my life on a better track. There is nothing I would do to sabotage it!!! And in that I made a choice!!! Good luck and I hope your okay and I hope ur successful in the rest of ur journey. Nothing but the best!!

  4. This isn't really a recipe but I made it tonite on my first purée dinner and it was the best 'food' I ate in 3 weeks. I made my family rigatoni with turkey meatballs and broccoli. I puréed it! I had to add a bit of Water but it tasted really good! So I suggest if it's something you like preop (healthy and within the guidelines) then purée it and see how it is.

  5. Shelly's Ricotta Bake

    8 oz of Ricotta cheese

    1/2 cup grated Parmesan

    1 large Egg, beaten

    1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

    salt & pepper to taste

    1/2 cup Marinara Sauce

    1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.

  6. Shelly's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole

    4 cups Cauliflower, steamed

    2 Tablespoons Butter, divided use

1/4 cup Flour (I use Spelt, higher in protein)

    1/2 teaspoon Dry Mustard

    1 teaspoon Salt

a few twists of Black Pepper

    3 cups Milk

3/4 pound Sharp Cheddar cheese (3 cups)

    1/4 cup bread Crumbs (optional)

Steam cauliflower set aside. Melt 3 tablespoons butter, blend in flour & seasonings. Add milk. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese; pour over steamed cauliflower and mix till combined. Top with optional crumbs mixed with remaining 1 tablespoons of butter. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until golden brown. This will make a ton... enough for family and many bariatric portions. You can half the recipe. You can add cooked ground chicken, turkey or beef to this too. Throw your portion in the Mini Chopper food Processor and whiz away. You can add unflavored Protein too... mix it in milk like you would a shake so it's dissolved or you'll get clumps.

  7. Lmao @ luckily they haven't invented a smart phone where u can reach through and slap the person oh my I laughed reading that. Sorry for the idiot on the other end tho. No office Cordinator should not be given out medical information just because she works in the office and hears them say answers to some questions does not make her medical knowledgeable and if she was to give out the wrong information and somebody died or severely got injured because of this that whole practice would be at a law suit.

  8. As of last Thursday I'm averaging about a pound a day. I think it's normal considering I only had to do a 2 day liquid diet before surgery on November 7th. I think I shocked my system, definitely not complaining though.

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App[/quote ur lucky I had to do a two week liquid diet!!! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. I lived through it!!! Lol

  9. Saturday night I woke up at about 11 PM and my stomach was soaked and through my pants were soaked I called the surgeon to let him know that I had serous drainage. As a nurse I know that this is common however I have never seen it so bad in all my years of nursing. So he stated to just put a dressing over it and it should be okay. So the next morning I wake up still draining. By after noon is was draining so bad that the dressing was soaked within ten mins of changing it and I don't mean just wet I mean soaking through pants shirt and hoody. So my husband said I think u need to call the surgeon back. Long story short he said met me at the office on a Sunday which was wonderful since he was in the operating room all day anyways he said. So he looked at it and said everything looks okay and it may take a few days to stop draining. Today it's still draining super bad. I've been nauseous today a lot and now started with diarrhea. I'm hoping not related . I just don't wanna develope seroma. Or any infection as a nurse I do great with patients but not with my kids or myself bc I fear the worse. Lol. Which I know co workers have told me they're the same way when it comes to them or they're family probably bc of all the things we see in patients. Anyways I'm still soaking through dressings like crazy changes them atleast ten times today already. They have me comming back in tomorrow morning. I guess my biggest fear is that everything has gone sooooo smooth is this where I start having complications? Has anyone else had this?
