    Medicaid questions. Newbie.

If you have a high BMI w/ or w/o complications they will cover it. If you have low BMI with a co-morbidity, they will also cover it. With a BMI of 38, you'll be fine . Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    PCOS and Weight Loss

I don't have any advice about the testosterone but I was screened as pre-diabetic last year (pre vsg) but I began to take magnese & chromium and it bought my sugar levels back to normal range. Maybe it would help you as well. It's a natural alternative to the medicine. Please do you research prior to though. Best wishes & congrats to you & your hubby on your journey Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My story of screwing up. Support? Ideas?

I am so sorry to hear about the passing away of your friend. I lost one of my best friends years ago, right before I put on 50 pounds. The good news is, you didn't gain this weight back from doing nothing. So it's a good thing that there is a reason; and that reason is when you stopped doing what made you lose the weight in the first place. It's actually not hard to gain 61 pounds in 7 months. I gained 50 pounds in 3 months because of oral steroids for sinus issues, and from the loss of my good friend. You turned to food for comfort and you stopped working out because the sadness you felt drained the ambition you needed to keep trying. You are already doing better, so that's great! Keep doing what you're doing. I also think it's a great idea to see a therapist. I think what you need is support and friendship. You have a friend in me. So if you need any advice, or just someone to talk to, feel free to message me. Same here! I'll be here for you if needed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My story of screwing up. Support? Ideas?

Please don't beat yourself up about it. Look, You've lost 20lbs! Be proud of yourself, remain vigilant and consistent, the weight will come off. Try working up an extra minute each day on the treadmill so if you can only walk 10mins today, push for 11mins the next day and so on to build that stamina. You can look into having the bypass if you choose to! If you fall off the wagon, get up, dust yourself off and keep going. You can only lose if you quit! Good luck! Apparently I'm Not Losing!

I'll focus on more protein. To be honest I've been scared to eat so I do the very minimum. Maybe my body refuses to lose bc it thinks it's starving. I will work on the fear of eating & embrace this journey. It will come off eventually. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Just left the doctors office (sitting in the car). I don't know what to think but I'm devastated! Going into surgery into surgery I weighed 222pds. This morning as I stated in a previous post my scale had me down to 208-209(dial style scale). At the doctor their scales (with my clothes and everything) had me at 218!! That means only 4lbs weight loss in 3 weeks?! I'm already in my feelings because I didn't lose any weight due to a stall and now this. The doctor said "well you highest weight was 238, so you're 20lbs down. Be happy". I would certainly be happy if it were 20 lbs down since surgery but I lost the majority of weight from my pre-op diet. Please give suggestions. I feel like I'm going to be trapped in this body. I've been doing everything and more! This is really discouraging. I'm usually the most optimistic person but I must say, this has me feeling blue. I come on here every morning as the start of my day & read these fascinating stories to keep me inspired and on track. Is there something wrong with my body? Has this happened to anyone else? (Sorry if there are typos, I'm too emotional at the moment to do any spell checks). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. Hello Sleevers, I woke up this morning excited to weigh in on my 3rd week mark. I made sure I went to the bathroom first, stood in my birthday suit & went to face the truth on the scale. I was confident that I'd at least lose 3 pounds... Well, I was the same weight from what I've weighed last week (208 lbs)! I've heard of the stories about the infamous 3rd week stall but I was sure it wouldn't happen to meet. It put me in a really sad place because I'm so looking forward to the numbers going down. I was a low bmi (35) so the weight hasn't been coming off as fast/much as some others in forums that I've read. Today is also my 3 week post op visit later on. Just thought I'd share this with you. I'm really trying to be optimistic but it's hard, I've been working really hard with exercising (30 min treadmill on incline & high speed) faithfully everyday and sticking to the plan. Please share your journeys w/ the 3 weeks plateau and outcome for encouragement if you don't mind. Thank you all! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. I decided to go vegetarian (again). 3 years ago before I gained almost 100lbs I was a vegetarian. I felt light, healthy and energized back then. I always wanted to go back to it but couldn't find the willpower. Thanks to having the VSG I've been without meat since surgery & feel amazing! Everyone's journey is their own & I'm certainly not encouraging or saying my way is the best way at all. However I would like to have support and wanted to share with my bariatricpal family ! If anyone else is looking to do the same (after much research) or already may be a veg please connect so we can share recipes and such. I'll keep you all posted on my journey.
