  1. I didn't need any pre op testing the morning of surgery. They did ask about pregnancy, but my tubes were tied about 17 years ago, so testing wasn't needed. I think it is just to be sure you are on time, registered, changed, and iv started whenever your doctor is ready. I did have to meet the anesthesiologist during the wait time. Good luck!

  2. I have to make a small goal for this challenge since five and a half weeks I will be on the road. I'm not sure what a good weight will be since I have been losing slowly lately. I figure after the trip it will take me a week or two to lose the Water weight that comes with travel.

    Current weigh 190

    Goal weight 184

  3. I'm glad you are feeling well after your surgery. Hopefully that will continue.

I will be on a five week road trip during the challenge, so hopefully this will be a good way to keep my weight from going up while I am having to eat out so often. I am definitely taking my scale with me. I don't want to come home and find out I gained too much.

    • I was on a full regular diet by that time and I believe fish was allowed at week 3-4. I don't know about the nutrition content of chowder, but you shouldn't have any trouble eating it. I tried right from the beginning to stay away from high calorie and fat foods because I didn't want to fall into the habit of a little bit being ok. I know where that led me before.

  4. I am also eight months, and I was noticing a very slow losing/stall. I was eating about 700 calories. I talked to my surgeon last month about adding in another meal because I am on a one shake and three meals with no Snacks plan. He agreed that my nutrition stats were good but I needed more calories. I am now eating about 800-900 and losing more. I am trying to increase my calories but not the carbs and it is working for me.

Where do you purchase those plastic containers? I use sanwhich bags and a food scale. It's kinda tedious but I would love to try those containers. Also my meal plan is low on veggies. I really need help with the veggies. Got any advise besides cucumbers?

Those containers are available at my local Walmart in the aisle with little Dixie cups and plastic silverware. It is about $3.50 for 50 containers and lids. That is how I portioned my food in the beginning, but not in bulk because that would have all been tossed before I could use it.

  6. We had a group meeting before surgery where they gave us the cards. What most people have said is that if a restaurant allows you to order from the kids menu then they don't care about the card. Places that don't allow that tend to not care that you have a card because it isn't something that they allow. Personally I don't tell people about my surgery so I wouldn't use the card. I order a meal and take my leftovers home for another meal (usually two or three).

  7. My surgeon's office only allows for three meals a day and no Snacks. I start my day with a Protein Shake. I have my first meal and then 30 minutes later start a bottle of Water and don't let myself have my second meal until the water is gone and I have waited at least the half hour. One bottle of water after each meal and an additional four oz get me to my 64 oz by the end of the day.
