How are you feeling about everything? I know as soon as a date was set my nerves really hit, even though I'm a 1000% sure it's the right choice. It's weird, some days I'm really anxious and that's all I think about and other days I'm like totally chill. Honestly, I'm just ready to be on the losers bench, I'm ready to be healthy, motivated, and feel good about myself. What about you? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App I'm in the same boat. I'm just ready to really get on this journey. 9. Thank you, I know right! My doctors office hasn't submitted my paperwork yet. They're going to submit it September 1st which is going to mark my 3 month supervised nurse visits and hope for the 13th. I hope to get an approval before the 13th. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thanks! Congratulations to you too! My surgery got scheduled so fast I dont think its quite hit me yet. I only had to wait two days for insurance approval, so I am just trying to let it all sink in haha. I am glad there are so many of us in September though, at least we are all going to be going through it together. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Unsupportive fiance

I think about that all the time. I want to have kids, multiple actually. But I refused to raise a child when I am unhealthy. He knows about all the complications I may face, and he seems to be coming around. I don't think he'll ever agree with me having surgery, but he'll stay by me because he loves me. He just doesn't think I need to do it and we can do it on our own (all his words not mine). I've tried before, but it seems like more than ever now it's harder. My PC just diagnosed me with pcos and, Ugh it just seems like there's always one thing after another. I will remain positive and strong because that's how my parents raised me to be, but it just sucks getting bad new back to back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. @ I wish I had the same courage than you had years ago. Unfortunately for me I went through the process, wasted money, just to back out and attempt to do it on my own. No support at home my family telling me I am cheating myself and that I lost the weight before with eating health and exercise. I too felt like I was cheating myself and that getting the surgery was the "easy way out". I lied to myself thinking I could do it on my own. I was successful in losing the weight, keeping it off was my issue. I came to realization that I can do anything that I put my mind to, but I cannot fight this battle alone. Had I went through with the surgery 3 years ago I wouldn't be having this discussion now. I applaud you, all things are possible with God. Good luck on your journey! Unsupportive fiance

Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes. @@KristenLe I have about 200 pounds to lose maybe? I showed him the video if the procedure and nothing good came out of that because the only thing he kept talking about was me potentially being out of work, not having some to take care of me (he's a police officer so his job is too demanding to be taking off all the time), having any complications (potentially dying), Me needing to go back and fourth to the hospital(if need be) etc. Thats what I keep telling him and thinking, If he can't support me then we don't need to be together. He gets upset when I say that, but September is slowly approaching and I told him I'm getting the surgery wether he likes it or not. So you can be with me or against me.

    Happy birthday to me!

Happy belated birthday! I guess a couple of things I'm looking forward to is, riding roller coasters again and not spilling over in the other seat or having to get off because the latch won't close, Going shopping with my sisters at the SAME store and actually buying something that's fits. Being able to sit comfortably in a chair, but most importantly being able to cross my legs. I've always longed for that. (Call me weird) lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. That is a really good idea. Very creative! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I am trying to prepare myself mentally. I still don't know what my family is going to think of me. I know my fiancé doesn't want me to get it. My sister doesn't feel like I need it and has reservations about me doing so, but ultimately my sister said the decision is mine to make and she'll support me with whatever choice I decide. I haven't told my mom/dad. I'm sure my dad will support, but my mom might have something "negative" to say about it. I went through this process before and I ended up not going through with the surgery because of what people were saying about it and fear. All I kept hearing and sometimes still to this day "you're taking the easy way out, you don't need to do that you can do it on your own". Which led me to believe otherwise. I am doing this for me and only me. I've tired so hard and for so long just to not be successful. This is my life to live and I am taking it back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I am scheduled for September 13th which is 6 days before my birthday.
