Yes, I did think it was resolved. I believed him when he said he was clean and he had to take a drug test for his current job. I think it is something he is getting back into. As far as smoking pot in my home - I am pretty sure he has. Like I said, I know nothing about it but now that I have smelled it, it smells awefully familiar. Also, he uses a lot of candles and air fresheners in his room. Call me gullable, go ahead. Hind sight is always 20/20. He's my nephew, whom I love very much and I wanted to help him out.

Thanks you guys, for your caring responses. I appreciate the input. I just got off the phone with dh and he's only willing to give him the weekend to get out. Actually, Stephanie, it was found in MY dryer, loose. It had come out of his pocket. I was definiitely not looking for it. He is only 22, but he has a family and he's got to grow up. My sister has dealt with his using during high school and beyond and it has got to stop. He definitely needs a wake up call and he's about to get it. I'm not sure how I'm going to get through the conversation - just writing to you guys has me balling like a baby. How is your brother now, Thinjen? Did he understand? Thanks again everyone!

I have been a kindergarten teacher for the last 11 years, but found out last month that the school will be closing in June (small, private school). Now I have to find something new to do. I've been thinking of a franchise...teaching technology classes to students ages 3 years to 12 years. We'll see.....

If she feels it while she's drinking or soon after, she may be drinking too fast. With her new restriction level, she may need to change the rate in which she drinks. I know that is true for me. I have to drink much more slowly when I'm more restricted and if I don't or if I eat something wrong - immediate chest pain. But with chest pain you have to be careful - check with your doctor. Wish her well for me - Let us know how she's doing.

Hmmmm? Let me think about that.......NO WAY!!!!

Hey, Angie. I've been away from LBT for a few days and I'm so sorry all that happened. 2 weeks ago I went through the same exact thing, 10 days of no solids and very little liquid. It was HORRIBLE. I went in for 2 unfills with a 6 day period and was so worried about a slip, but thank God it wasn't. I was unfilled quite a bit and today I go back for a fill. I sure hope it's better this time around!! I'm sure glad you're feeling better. It's such a wonderful feeling to be able to have liquids without horrible pain. Good luck to ya & keep us posted.

189/182 - I've lost 7 lbs so far. I actually gained 1 lb this week:think because I had to go in for an unfill last Tuesday. I've really struggled with being hungry and having cravings that I haven't had since my first fill. I'll be able to go back for a fill in 1 more week. That'll help. NSV - No one has said anything about my weight loss so far until yesterday... 2 completely different people said something out of the blue. It was just what I needed after such a hard week. Good luck to all - I really enjoy reading everyone's NSV's!! Keep up the good work!!:cheer2: -

1 night stay. Good thing, too. It took me a while to recover from the anesthesia and get walking around. The next morning I felt more myself.

Calories, Calories, Always Calories, Question for you!
shanna replied to Ericalynn13's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My Jazzercise instructor on Saturday handed out a flyer stating you should multiply your goal weight by 11 to see how many calories you should be eating to arrive at that goal weight. So if you want to be 130 lbs, you should be eating 1430 calories per day. I really think, though, that what works for 1 person may not work for another. One person may need more/less calories because of their metabolic rate. Good luck in finding what works for you! -
I was the same way out of surgery. Very hungry until my first fill. I, too, could eat anything and I was able to eat as much as before surgery. After fill #1 all that changed. Most people don't have an adequate restriction level after their first fill, but I sure did (although it took a coupld of weeks to "kick in"). My first fill was done at 4 weeks post op. Good luck with your first fill.

Help with after-banding food options
shanna replied to gadgetlady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Breakfast Protein - try turkey sausage, it's very good. Also, if you have a crock pot - slow cooked meats are very tender and easier to eat. Good Luck!
