AETNA 3 month or 6 month?

When you say net gain is that at the end of the 3 or 6 month you can't be over the start weight? Or Can you not have a gain at any appointments during that duration? Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

AETNA 3 month or 6 month?

Did you have to have a history of obesity with them? The policy guide says 3 or 6 month but I want to be sure.

    Changing insurance

I have an insurance now that doesn't cover bariatric. Come January 1st I'll have Aetna which covers it. I'm doing the 6 month weigh ins according to Aetnas policy. Will they accept weigh ins under the insurance I have now? Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Changing insurance

Ok spoke with an Aetna rep and they will accept the dieting prior to being on their plan!

Anyone use 2 health care plans?

Be careful with this. In some cases the primary insurance doesn't cover bariatric then the secondary won't either. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Bmi 42.6

I cant actually talk to Aetna because it is my fiances policy and getting him to call Aetna is like pulling teeth!
  7. That is MY biggest fear that I start losing weight and fall below 40 BMI because I was barely that at initial weight in like 40.7 and this is my month 3 of 6. Yes I have been walking more 3 times a week, yes I am eating a lot healthier but my weakness is Starbucks even though I have switched to "skinny" but then I eat stuff that I really do not even enjoy like BREADS and high starchy foods because I have been afraid of my BMI falling so my weight has literally been the exact same month after month. It's hard to get in touch with the coordinator at my surgeons office for clarification and when I call my insurance company (Meritain) they just say 6 months of supervised diet without ANY gain but it still makes me nervous after reading some of the other requirements out there. Losing 1-2 pounds a week and such just FREAKS ME OUT! So where are you now with this? Did they go by the starting weight?
