  1. Thanks for sharing your story, you're an inspiration.
  2. After a very long process I finally got the approval from my insurance to have WLS. I had a few obstacles that I had to overcome until I got the final approval. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic, but I have to be honest, I'm very nervous too. My surgery is already in 3 days and although I have been doing my research as to what to expect I'm still feeling weird. Is it normal?
  3. Congrats!!! I travel a lot too because of work, the arm rest not going all the way down makes me feel like crap
  4. I'm sure you'll get there, it's very doable. A friend of mine got the Gastric Sleeve and lost 100 lbs in 7 months. She looks fantastic.
  5. Yes, and now they have me on standby because my insurance still has me under 'medical review'. They gave me a tentative date for this Thursday but it won't happen unless my insurance approves by Wednesday. And I'm still doing the liquid diet.
  6. Good for you! Yeah!I was supposed to be at the end of July but now it looks like end of August. Wish it was tomorrow. .. Good luck! Keep us informed! Sent from my SM-T320 using the BariatricPal App I was supposed to have surgery tomorrow and was just told that there were some issues with my insurance and it may not happen tomorrow after all.
  7. Best of luck !! Please come back and keep us informed.
  8. I've been on the liquid diet for 13 days, the first 4 were the worse, after that it becomes much easier. Drink plenty of Water, it helps with the headaches. Trust me, by day 5-6 you won't even feel hungry anymore. Good luck!
  9. Congratulations!! My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and as of yesterday my insurance hadn't approved it yet. I'm hopeful it'll happen today otherwise I'll be rescheduled for next week and another week of liquid diet :/
  10. I wouldn't worry too much. Its adjusting time for you and him, I'd say its just a matter of finding common ground. I haven't had surgery YET but I've already told my husband that when we go out I plan to eat off his plate and he's ok with that. Good luck!
  11. how did it go? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. we have the same surgery date!!! best of luck! God bless you Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  13. LMAO Thanks for the laugh.
  14. I chose the sleeve because the weight loss isn't as fast as it is with the bypass. I guess I fear what will my body look like after I lose the weight and I prefer to lose 1 pound at a time. Before the GI cleared me for surgery he said that if I had reflux then my only choice would be the bypass. Have you talked to your surgeon about it?
  15. My surgeon said that the 1st week after surgery I can only have Clear liquids and to not try to over do it. broth could be a great choice. God bless.
  16. Your story is amazing, I wish I can be as successful as you. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out a way out of your current status. Good luck and God bless!
  17. I would say don't delay the surgery but I don't know how the situation is at work. I applied for another position at my place of employment and I'm waiting for an answer .... I haven't told them that I plan to have surgery but I don't even know for sure whether I'm getting the job or not ... God bless!
  18. Thanks Kristen !! My diet allows only 5 Protein shakes per day, crystal light, decaff tea and the SF Jello and pops. They told me I could add chicken broth and I just did a quick run to go get some bc I'm at work. I'm seeing that other people are allowed more things which I think it's awesome. My dr said since they're affiliated with the Cleveland clinic they also follow their processes.
  19. Congratulations !!! My process was really long but I'll be having surgery next Thursday. God bless you.
  20. I add lime and it helps plenty.
  21. I bought some at old navy that are quite comfortable and provide decent support. Thanks for the reminder, gotta buy a few more lol.
  22. On day 4 I couldn't even get up from bed, I spent all day just laying on bed. On day 5 I started feeling better but today I'm just not feeling it
  23. Hi, I'm currently on Day 8 of my 14 day pre op liquid diet. I had been feeling decent until this morning, I woke up with no energy at all. I mean, I feel like I can't even pick up my arms and I get tired just by walking to the restroom. I have an 18 months old toddler so it isn't easy at all to be chasing after him. How did you guys cope or are coping with this? Is it normal?
  24. Wish you the best of luck!! I started the process in January and will be having surgery next week. It feels like it's been a long journey but I'm feeling very positive and anxious to start seeing results.
