  1. I would suggest most responders re-read what I wrote. My point was that if it was a likelihood that alcohol was likely to cause a leak our warnings would be more than suggestions from nutritionists to lay off alcohol for a month, or three months, or 60 days, or six months. I cannot help it that most responders want to push their own self reached beliefs or fears. And SMG, if you are relying on warnings on your hydrocodone as one of your warnings against alcohol post-bariatric surgery, you are proving my point. Now, as to whether I had a reputable surgeon, top rated hospital in the State of Georgia.
  2. 7 day liquid diet here. You will be fine.
  3. You're talking awfully soon about cheating. You're stomach is smaller. That's what you went in for. That will get you only so far. And it will not get you anywhere if you are going to allow yourself days of ice cream. I just know that most of us got here because one chip leads to half a bag, or a spoonful of ice cream leads to a pint. I would guess that 99 percent of this board wants everyone to be a success. And, I hope you really take the advice of doctors to find a different outlet for those feelings. I would find someone to talk to about strategies to help you do that. I would hate to wake up 6 months down the road at the same weight and 1/4 of the stomach.
  4. No actually, I am a personal injury attorney that is very familiar with causes of action for failure to warn. I'm not relying on a website medical degree, but rather logic and knowledge of how doctors are taught to cover their asses.
  5. Let me say this too, if having a drink or two or even three close after surgery were likely to open your staple line and flood your belly, there would be some bold print warnings in all of our packets.
  6. I had a glass of red at two weeks and two days with no problem. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I used to use lose it app which I liked a lot. I've started to use the Fitbit app so it's all integrated but I'm not yet sold on the food part of the app. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Is my anger justified?

You probably signed a consent form that if it became necessary they could change the procedure. And, if you are otherwise doing well, damages are not going to be so great to justify the costs of expert witnesses, etc. I would definitely never trust the doctor again if they didn't inform you of the change afterwards. I'd find another doctor. You will face a statute of limitations for legal action. I haven't seen your records so I would encourage you to talk to a lawyer in your state asap.

  12. 15 days out. scale will not budge. I've always been able to lose weight pretty fast when dieting, but not right now. 600 cal per day since surgery. Went in at 289 and now been stuck at 283 since Sunday. I'm going to embrace the stall. Embrace it as hard as i can around it's pretty little throat.
  13. My doc said that he wasn't so concerned about passing gas w/sleeve since there was no re-routing. So, hopefully it's nothing bad. Might want to get off of narcotic pain meds. They will stop you up.

  18. Fat is less dense than muscle. 5 lbs of fat takes up more space than 5 lbs of muscle. It's about density. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Where do I start? And with what?

They want you to know what causes you pain if you eat it. So, when they say to introduce one new food at a time, it would be w/in a period of time that if it does not agree with you, you know what it was that caused the problem.

    Pain

I am two weeks post op and felt that pain yesterday when I was getting up and down. It went away today. Doc said that was the opening they had to pull the muscle the most to get the stomach out and to expect that pain for about two weeks. If you can't handle it, I'd take my meds accordingly. My doc did say to use ice one day and then heating pad the next couple of days when I was being discharged.

    Got Approved

Well, Cigna did me right. I'm approved for August 9-10. My doc's office said that they had to put a specific date on there or it would have been denied. They also said that it would be good for 6 mos. Does anyone know if that means I can't be scheduled before that date?
