Surgery doesn't wear off. People that have RNY/Bypass, their malabsorption does not last forever. If they don't learn to eat properly, when their body finally adjusts to it, they will stop losing and start regaining if they don't have a healthy lifestyle.
A properly formed sleeve does not stretch, you keep your restriction. What wears off mostly is people motivation and desire to lose weight and keep it off. People lose weight and small things creep into their diet and then become big things. Overall, it is natural to gain weight as you age. If you make real lifestyle changes, it is easier to keep weight off, too many people treat surgery just like a diet.
And at 11.5 months, I basically have no physical hunger unless I forget to eat for 12 hours or more. My head hunger is more like a soft faint whisper in the wind, instead of a loud shouting Drill Sergeant.

I really wanted to share this, because I feel very proud. And because I often see people posting about whether or not they should do it and how afraid they are, but I am one of these people who says: this is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my adult life!
The pic on the left was taken Aug. 31 2015 at around 320+ pounds. I had my surgery Nov 23, 2015. The photo on the right was taken a little over a week ago. 54 pounds until I reach my goal weight.

Best decision of my life! Yesterday was my 9 month post op check in with the surgeons office. Everything is looking great and I have lost 132 pounds since surgery! My bmi is almost to being out of the obese range and I am about 45 pounds from my personal goal weight.
My heaviest weight in 2011 was 376
My surgery weight in September 2015 was 319
    My current weight is 187!!!!
First picture is almost at my heaviest, then purple shirt is 11 days before surgery and black & white top is last week.
