Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

WOW Marathinner - you did 26 miles BEFORE the band?!?! I doubt I could do that now...walking! Running is not in my vocabulary. Running - Bah!! Walking, ok. But running?!?!? I think your logic is ...well, logical!

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Oh St Louis...you must be SO disappointed. I mean, it is good to know what you are dealing with, but still very upsetting in the options etc. Perhaps you should contact your insurer and just ask about covering the costs for a replacement. Then when you see the Doc next you at least have that information. I too would probably want to see the doc sooner than later - or is he waiting that long in the hopes that the prolapse will reverse itself? Is that even possible? If so, is that why he wants you to stick with mushies (although probably not Ben and Jerry's, right?) I am sending good thoughts to you.

OK - what new weirdness is happening with my fonts etc? That was FONTS, Plain, not fronts. (Cut you off at the pass)

OK....but sadly, I don't have this message on my fridge, so it is AFTER I eat and plunk myself here that I read it...my strawberry yogurt isn't lookin' so good now. No troubles getting on the site. Still holding out great hope that a fantabulous job, nay, career, is revealed to you. It is good to have a plan in place, even if you don't execute it. Be prepared! :grouphug: As I hadn't heard about any plans I was wondering if perhaps you had made these great plans via Facebook, and those of us not in the 'in crowd' would be left out. Glad to know that the planning is just slow to happen - but let's get to it people. I have to submit my holiday request this month. So what all is going into this new kitchen? How many ovens? Fridges? How much counter space - it will never be enough! Just checking in while my mother reads and DH blobs in front of the TV.

And for those who say, once you get into the exercise routine, you miss it if you stop - not this bandster! I went from a minimum of 4X week for 16 months (more often 5X week with extra walking to/from work as well), to NOTHING for the month of my blahs. I never missed it!!! In fact, it was frequently the only thing that gave me a good feeling - I didn't have to go to the Y! Im starting back into it....slowly. Walked home from work yesterday and walked to work today. That's it. But it's a start. OK - you may now resume your regular postings of marathons, kick boxing, new style shoes and lovin' sweat!

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

I may have to restart that. I haven't in a long while, but probably should. I won't start it right away though, I am just easing back into the lap life...today I walked for the first time in about a month. Such a long climb back to where I was... Yes St. Louis. Hope things went well today! Thanks Shiny! And yes, it does seem that many of us are struglling - good thing we each are struggling at different times though - there's always someone here to help. I hope I can be that support for someone else! I love fall as well - although the weather here sucked all summer - like a perpetual raining spring. I have hopes for the fall! fingers are crossed! WOW, what a fabulous achievement, what a fabulous post! You are my new hero! You have such a great can-do attitude, and you are so positive! YAY you! Note to self: nag Ezma! We can do this; we are stronger than our cravings, our bad habits!!! YAY to you, Lil Miss! Congrats on the NSV! So, where is Lori? Where is RSG?

Okay then - set another plate, please! Beth and I will join you. (Although I eat meat, I don't 'do' internal organs...kidneys, livers, brains, etc. ick. double ick)

Perhaps after mymother goes home. I just cannot introduce a food regime while dealing with my mother. Any story here to share? (MY grammar is terrible, but you know what I mean.) :cheers2:  Yes.

Oh...and to those that pm'd and emailed me during my absence, THANKS! Sincerely, you will never know what those words meant to me - a lifeline if you will. There are some wonderfully warm-hearted good-souled beautiful people on LBT. I hope you all appreciate how rare it is to find one such person in a lifetime, and here there are several. An emotional heart-felt Thank you.

You missed me? Plain missed me? Aw, shucks (demurely says Tap as she scuffs her foot on the floor) Ditto. Oh Oh Oh....can I have a role? I LOVE theatrical productions, and I can be a great 'doo wop' girl for the big finale! :coffee: Might help some 'peace out'... Ditto, and thanks Thanks Beth. DH smoked for almost 50 years and then gave it up cold turnkey 2 years ago. The first while was hell for both of us; now he just eats every time he has a craving...hence gaining about 50 pounds but like his smoking it has to be his decision to act on it. I'm nobodies mama! But but but...you HAVE to be there Beth for our get together... Exactly! Ditto. Yes indeed-y! Here's hoping! Thanks! Ditto. And as for the educational system, yes indeed, personal responsibility is a dying characteristic. We are turning into a society of 'mama's boys' in which everything is done for us, we have no responsibility for anything, and nothing is our fault. Ever. How old is this puppy? I can't look at his pic 'cause it just plays on my mind - there are lots of animals needing a loving home. NO NO NO...I can't! Morning Susan. We love you; we mayn't always understand or agree, but it isn't personal! Now, good morning all! Im late signing on, but my mother is visiting with us for a few weeks, and between being up at all hours helping her to the bathroom, and stuff, and getting her set for the day as both DH and I are out, this really is my first break. I have such a great respect for those who deal with the elderly leaving them their dignity and treating them with compassion. I love my mother, but I find this personal care very difficult and difficult for her to accept from her daughter. Dh is a real support too, but she doesn't like him to see her after her 'accidents' etc, so it's up to me to get her into the tub etc. And my house is not designed with the amenities she really needs....but I digress. Now, if I could just get back into the groove on other 'band' things...portion control, exercise....

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Hi Everyone! Well, I'm back...and it seems when I was gone, a few others reappeared - YAY! Anyway, here I am...through the worst of whatever depression/boredom/moodiness that hit me (I hope - and so does DH!). Sadly though, I am 3 pounds more. I had to have a slight defill because whatever was going on in my head made me really tense too, and therefore the band constricted ... a vicious cycle. Anyway, I will stay like this for 6 weeks or so to stabilze and give my stomach a break while I try to once again 'get in the groove'. So, did I miss anything?

PJTS (posting just to say) – hi! For those who missed me, thanks, I missed you too. For those that didn’t miss me, OUCH! For those that didn’t even notice I was gone, Double OUCH! Now, to get caught up (my last post was #15156 – you guys have been busy): Reunion – never gone to one. My 40th will be coming up in a few years, perhaps then. Purses – Nope. Don’t carry one usually. Only when going out special (that is, maybe 1/year) Running – not gonna happen. Triathalons – Never. MILs – don’t have one. My mother is a great MIL according to DH and my sibling’s spouses (present and past) Scale victories – YAY! Scale lack of movement – it will happen. Patience. Buy new scales. Buy new batteries. Move the scale. Don’t move the scale. Avoid the scales. Blame menopause, water, exercise, salt, spouses, life…. Facebook – nope. It would be you guys so why go to another place for the same people? Obviously Im missing something. Pics/personal info here – nope. Just too many weirdos in cyberspace. Voices in head – Doesn’t everybody hear them? Marital stresses – hope you can work through them, or find the solution (whether together or apart) Struggling – I can SOOOOOOOOOOO relate. Job hunts – hope they are successful Home renovations – love to do them, hate living through them (and yes, I know that is somewhat schizophrenic but having multiple personalities helps me cope) Sales – Well as I hate shopping, a sale is of limited value to me. Children – new or soon to be – Congrats School – for those that have children heading off to them – another sign of them becoming adults; for the adults returning to it – have fun! Surgeries – Good luck; hope they are successful Drinks – alcohol is our friend! Mojitos/Ginger O’s/other KC /Lu concoctions – yumm! Animals – putting them down is sad; happy for those adopting Karma – gotta love it! Men - (enough said) Our get together in 2010 – when? Where? Who’s organizing? TV shows – not into them – any of them. Not reality, not cooking, not talk shows. News if I missed my internet and newspaper for the day. Summer – it is gone (never really arrived here); of course in Aussie it is coming – your ‘winter’ pics look better than this summer here though, Fanny. Hair – thinking I need a new style, but HATE the growing out phases. Gray IS a color! Mushrooms/other phallic symbols – no comment required. Bandiversaries – congrats! Sports – nope Pain meds – I prefer the alcohol kind, but any in a pinch. Sizes and weights – I will NEVER understand. People who are shorter than me, the same weight as me are in teeny-tiny (that is, single digits) sizes. Me, Nope. How is that possible? Oh well. Pictures – have been taking lots and some have been taken of me. To me, I look the same. Still fat. Feeding others dogs/kids/plants…it’s wrong. Permission first. Otherwise expect grief and/or lawsuit. Relationships – do what is right for YOU. Not your family. Not your child. Not your parents. YOU! Family drama – sorry for those having them. So, what’s happening?

G4E - my prayers are with you and your family The rest of you sound so energetic, busy, positive and enthusiastic. Me? I ate a gallon (a real gallon, not a figure of speech gallon) of ice cream tonight for supper (and I don't like ice cream) then had about 1/2c peanut butter on crackers, and then washed it down with a glass of wine. Yep, I'm depressed. The sum of my exercise was washing the dishes. Don't have the interest to do anything - BAH!. So, I think I will bow out of here for a while. Take care everyone.

Kat - Congrats on the grandson! Garrick is blessed to have such a loving family. G4E - it was the shock, and we all understand that. KC - 4 shots to the chest, and lives? And 17? What is wrong with people? (Rhetorical question) I just do not understand. Perhaps I am too old, or led too sheltered a life or something, but come on...17 and you and your 'friends' are toting guns and shooting people??? Mac - I can relate. I wish I had a job I loved, or even this job but with people I liked, but I don't. And when you dislike the job and the people, it sucks. Morning all. I spent some time reading in the post-op thread...best laughing I've done in a while - thanks Beth! I needed the levity. Perhaps I am slipping into a depression - Seasonal Affective Disorder (and yes it is a real condition) usually associated with the long winter months of limited sunshine, but hells bells, it's effin raining again!!!!! Promising thunderstorms this afternoon, this evening, tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. It is very difficult to become motivated or interested in doing anything ...

Now that makes sense! But of course it eliminates the possibility of me enjoying this concoction. Which leads me to the topic of alcohol...last weekends discussion was on Mojito's. What shall the drink of this weekend be?

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Blessed Twice - It is great to see you again! I know you must be facing new challenges every day - but the fact that you are doing so well says you can do it!! 153 pounds is great - is that your target, or just a stop on the weightloss journey?? Size 10 - YAY you! I know all about the exercise challenges - bah humbug! YAY on the NSV! And you're right - it isn't about a number. It is where you are happy and feel good about yourself. I know my doc still thinks that I, at 5'5" and big-boned, should strive for 117 - 125...but I think it just isn't going to happen. And frankly, I'm not sure how I would look at that weight. However, I am going to the clinic next week and shall have another wee chat about it and the reflux I am starting to have. HLori - mother of a teenager...that only lasts for 9 years!!!:Banane56::laugh: I know what you mean about fighting the 150's - just keep the faith...exercise (says she who is ignoring that same thing) and eating right. And yes everyone - just keep swimming!!! Have a great weekend...
