I've seen posts like this b4 n couldn't use the link either. Always wondered if it was a scam or something. Maybe this app wont let us follow links?Good for you on slowing down on weighing yourself. I feel like at this stage we are following program, for sure our pouch is restricting and our bodies are gonna do what they are gonna do. We are bound to go down and not up. It'll make you crazy to compare to other peeps cuz we r all gonna hit that plateau differently. It is fun to weigh once in a while though. Have you taken measurements? I did b4 surgery...I need to re measure n take some after photos. That will be fun to see too. You are doing great...keep on keepin on!

I started puréed last Tuesday and honestly I haven't really done puréed at all besides some yoplait Greek whips, eggs and mashed potatoes. Honestly I have totally cheated and been eating chicken and beef and cheese with no trouble. I don't suggest anyone try it but I have been okay so far. I really haven't been able to eat more than a few bites of anything at one time. I hope you get some wonderful recipes for puréed!

I'm supposed to start pureed tomorrow, but just couldn't stand to wait one more day so am currently having cottage cheese. Was soooo missing the savory side of things with all these sweet Protein Shakes and flavored drinks. Even the cream Soups weren't cutting it anymore. It's been 4 weeks of liquids total and I'm so ready to move on. I know there are a lot of recipes available for me to start trying, but what did you (or are you) all personally eating?

I survived on instant mashed potatoes, egg salad potato Soup and ricotta bake during mushies. I also had a yogurt each day.
By the time you eat a few ounces of mashed potatoes, your full! Drink you 60-80 oz of fluids a day and you will be through it before you know it!
Best of luck, head held high and be proud of yourself for the changes you have made. Treat these stages like stepping stones to a normal life

Keep it positive and remember it is rare to have complications if you follow instructions. I went home with a script for pain meds and use two. I used Tylenol mostly. I went shopping first week. Second week to the beach.
Every day is better than the day before. Remember that you've changed your life and health to the positive not the negative!

Somebody will be along in a few minutes to tell you they spent two years taking bariatric support classes......learning all they could......then had the surgery now barely 8 weeks out they'll tell you it was a mistake, yada yada.
Give that whatever credit you deem appropriate........and then listen to the vast majority of people who've had VSG surgeries.
I think you'll conclude that most don't even have the stomach ache you mentioned. Just a bit of tenderness around the tiny sutures is all. Most are off all pain meds in a day or so.
I was shocked at my low pain level. The only discomfort I had was from an abdominal hernia repair that was done with my sleeve surgery.
Pleasantly surprised at the low pain level and fast recovery.
To read some of the reports around here you'd think folks had been eviscerated by fire-breathing dragons.........get past those and read the opinions of the majority.......

My surgeon does 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed, 2 weeks soft, then regular food. Of course they say no alcohol, popcorn, sweets, or carbs like bread, rice, Pasta, and I probably won't have have any of those for a while, mainly because I truly want to focus on protein being that I cannot eat very much.

@@deekel8 Try different temps - warm may feel better. I think it's just important you are sipping and getting all your fluids - you don't need to use cups. I'm pre-op but what you are feeling is normal from what I've read.

My surgery was July 5 and I just passed the 30 pound weight loss Mark. Working towards 35. Now that I can eat regular food, I am feeling the restriction again. Not complaining, just mains sure I get my Protein and Water in.
I had lettuce and tomatoes with steak...that I chewed really well. It was so fantastic. I have been craving salad! Everything settled great!

Press on the left three lines, choose goals, then nutrition goals. Also, your carbs could be fruits and vegies. I've seen a number of post op people follow Keto or Atkins type diet plans and do well. Good luck! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

Lol my wife and I had surgery the same day. I was in a living hell, and as I'm dry heaving very loudly, I can hear her ask the nurse "is it weird that I don't feel nauseous or sore at all??".. I literally wanted to kill her lol. So anyway, you're good. Everyone's different. Be happy.

My recovery went so well that I was confused because this board is overwhelmingly filled with stories of bad recoveries and complications. I had almost no pain, no gas pain, went back to work in a few days and did some long distance travel at 2 and a half weeks post-op. I was so confused because I was expecting agony it that I made a thread about it:

Me! My recovery was quite easy. I think you hear more about the miserable ones because those of us with easy ones have no story to tell.

@ It's so important to research and I commend you for that. I'm pre-op and have been preparing for about 6 months. I encourage therapy to deal with any eating"issues" so you have all the tools available post-op. I've read many stories on here and other places and would say the majority of people don't have a miserable recovery. It's not easy but if you follow your surgeon's instructions you have a better chance of not having complications. Ask your surgeon about post-op complication rates. Go to some support groups and talk to those who have been through it. With a BMI close to 40 - your chance of having significant health problems is much greater than the risk of surgery complications. Good luck on your journey!

Here is my perspective. A terminal cancer patient would give anything to be in our shoes.
I bounced back quickly with my surgery. This was nothing compared to child birth pain. look for statistics of complications. There are many of us that are doing fine. My mind was so focused on healing to get on with loosing weight.
This choice has been one of the best things in my life. No regret.

I never felt miserable at all......My only "bad" time was in the hospital when I first woke up and they were moving me to my room....they didn't have my pain pump ready so I was in quite a bit of pain for what felt like about an hour....it was probably much less time than that......But anyway once I was connected to my pain pump with my little button it was all roses from there. Within a couple of hours I was up walking the halls and the next day I was home. It took me about 5 days to get my Fluid and Protein up to where they needed to be.....I never had to take any pain meds once I got home. My surgery was on a Monday and I was back working the following Monday.
Just be aware that everyone's experience is different. Just because someone else had a tough time or an easy time you won't know how yours will be until it actually happens.........I think the best thing to do is once you've made the decision to have surgery is to go into it with a positive attitude and make sure to follow all your surgeon's instructions in order to ensure the best outcome for "you."
    Good luck!!

I wasn't miserable. I was tired and sore but nothing I couldn't manage. I haven't thrown up once since surgery (3+ years ago) and did not feel nausea after surgery. I didn't have any complications.
I do think you are more likely to read negative stories on a message board/app for the surgery because this is where people come if they need information, support, or to vent. Most people don't post about completely uneventful things.
