I've seen posts like this b4 n couldn't use the link either. Always wondered if it was a scam or something. Maybe this app wont let us follow links?

Good for you on slowing down on weighing yourself. I feel like at this stage we are following program, for sure our pouch is restricting and our bodies are gonna do what they are gonna do. We are bound to go down and not up. It'll make you crazy to compare to other peeps cuz we r all gonna hit that plateau differently. It is fun to weigh once in a while though. Have you taken measurements? I did b4 surgery...I need to re measure n take some after photos. That will be fun to see too. You are doing great...keep on keepin on!

  2. I'm supposed to start pureed tomorrow, but just couldn't stand to wait one more day so am currently having cottage cheese. Was soooo missing the savory side of things with all these sweet Protein Shakes and flavored drinks. Even the cream Soups weren't cutting it anymore. It's been 4 weeks of liquids total and I'm so ready to move on. I know there are a lot of recipes available for me to start trying, but what did you (or are you) all personally eating?

  3. Had my NUT appt yesterday. Approved for all foods now. She said I am on track! Was told to start increasing calories to 900-1000. Protein 60-80

My NUT said lower fat, slightly higher carbs. That's scary to me because I am a former low carb dieter. Anyone have suggestions how to set goals in fitness pal for P/C/F?

Press on the left three lines, choose goals, then nutrition goals. Also, your carbs could be fruits and vegies. I've seen a number of post op people follow Keto or Atkins type diet plans and do well. Good luck!

  4. Hey sisters. Just got back from my post op appointment. It went great. I am 8 lbs down. He said the weight loss should pick up around 3 weeks post surgery because during thenfirst 3 weeks ur body is focused on healing after major surgery. After that time it kicks into gear on weight loss. Yayy. And i get to start my oureed diet. Im SO EXCITED!!!!!! so glad everyones doing great. Picked up my Vitamins. He said i can take them as tolerated now and ease into the amt i need. One thing i need to do is stay off the scale three times a day lol. Im gonna try to weight once or twice a week. We will see if i can actually do that. Hahaha.

He said during my sirgery they really contemplated just removing my lap band and doing sleeve in a later surgery due to it had slipped, caused a hernia he had to repair. But they ouffed up my stomach after and it looked great so they proceeded. Omg inwould have been soooo upset if they hadnt sleeved me. I know its for my own good but inselfishly want to get the show on the road and get rid of this big ol butt. Lol. Have a great week yall. Im gonna eat me some yogurt. Lol

Man, that would have been devastating. Yes for your benefit, but to have two surgeries! Ugh! Thank goodness it all worked out! Let us know how all that pureed food goes and also if you try any good recipes. Congrats on the weight loss. You will make yourself crazy weighing yourself that much. But I understand the urge. After we've been trying to lose weight for so long and the scale not budging, its insane how fast the weight is coming off! Yay for all of us!

  5. Has anyone else been to their post-op appt.? How is everyone doing? Any good weight loss numbers yet or good progress? I do not have my appt. until Monday and do not want to step on a scale until then. I hope it is good news!

I cant believe after not keeping much down all this time that the scale could be anything but down for you! As of yesterday I was 10 lbs down since surgery.

  6. Omg, 3 week liquid diet! U poor thing! I'll try not to complain too much about 1 week, lol

Lol yup.. but I'm sipping a Protein drink... chocolate Protein Powder with a tablespoon of ovaltine mixed with almond coconut milk.. taste just like a mounds bar. I wish I can have all the horrible food, but all this is prepping me for my healthier life. And I'm super emotional.. I don't know why but hey, it feels nice to cry at stupid things lol

You know, I don't get it...why torture a person before surgery like that? My medical folks required the ten percent weight loss and fasting after midnight prior to my surgery which I know is routine. I'm ten days post op and feel really well but really weak. There must be some reasonable explanation, but Kaiser in CA doesn't require this diet. I think it's dangerous to send people hither and yon in a weakened state. According to Dr. tanktalken, (that would be me) this is a mean, poop eating unnecessary process to put patients through! So come on folks, tell me why they do this? And thanks sweetie for the almond/coconut suggestion for chocolate protein powder! I love me some mounds bars! Nancy K.

    Ditto what Rocshae said

  7. Happy 1 Week Surgiversary 26ers!!

Can you believe its already been a week?

Saw surgeon for post op today. All was well except can you believe my blood pressure was high again? Last friday it was way down. Go figure.

I have been switched from Clear Liquids to strained full liquids. Never thought I'd be so happy to drink a V8!! Had some pain that comes and goes in my left shoulder which I assumed was gas, but dr. wanted to be sure so sent me over to hosp for CT scan. No fun getting another IV for the dye, but now I can rest assured I have no blood clots.

Have lost 8 lbs since surgery weigh in.

Havent had the sleep issues I'm seeing some of you have. I'm sleeping amazingly well. I have not taken any naps during day though and really dont even lay down until bedtime so that probably helps. Dont know if that is a factor for any of you. Glad to hear the sleep aids are allowed. I did however wake up with a runny nose Sunday morning. I was panicking, thinking I was getting sick, which on top of all this fun was worrisome to me. Went to pharmacy and pharmasist gave me an antihistamine that took care of it. Im thinking it was the bouqets of flowers peeps sent me. I put them all outside and now seem to be better.

ChaCha77, I am so glad you have turned the corner!! I was really feeling for you...I can only imagine how much that sucked! I believe it was no joke. You've got this now and we are always here for you!

Good luck this week as everyone goes for their post op!

  8. So I quit taking pain meds Sat night. I feel fine for the most part other than I feel each sip go down and its a bit unpleasant. I'm sure my sip isnt too big because I am drinking out of the little cups they gave me. Which leads me to my questions: is everyone "free" sipping, or using the cups every 15 min? Anyone off meds n feeling the swallow or do you all feel fine? Oh, I did have a small hiatal hernia repaired with a couple stitches, so maybe that has something to do with it. Surgeon post op tomorrow so wil be discussing with her, but wanted to see how you all were fairing.

  9. Hi guys - I was sleeved on July 26th as well. My hospital stay was four days because of extreme nausea. The pain is bearable at times not so bearable. I was wondering - Is it normal to not have had a bowel movement as of yet. It just feels strange to not have the urge to go. I'm also on a pureed diet. My surgeon wanted us to tolerate pureed foods before leaving the hospital. Its really nice to have people going thru the same thing I am to talk to. We should make this a group, lol!

    Melissa

I didnt have a bowel movement until this morning, and that was because I took M O M last night. I quit taking pain meds Saturday night in hopes things would get moving on their own, but got impatient last night as I was feeling very bloated and constipated.

  10. No emotions yet. I do however, have the feeling of regret. I'm trying to figure out if this was all worth it to me. I'm sure it is due to the fact that I'm still nauseous and not holding down liquids much, so I feel pretty weak and miserable. Hopefully every day will get better for all of us and this will be short lived.

Have you talked to your nurse or surgeon to get some peace of mind on how your body is dealing? I can imagine how horrible you must be feeling.

  11. Anyone feeling emotional yet? I have been happy and stable this whole week. Even the day of surgery - never felt sad, and never had the feeling of regret so many sleevers talk about. Just happy and thankful for this new beginning. Then this morning, wham! Cried for no reason. Had no clue why. Just had a good cry. Only thing I could think of was hormones or the fact that I stopped taking my pain med. I've heard that that is more the norm, but it was weird for me. Anyways, just sharing. Hope everyone's having a happy Sunday!
