  1. WAY TO GO!!! Isn't that the best fun buying clothes now. 62 and one year out lost 100 lbs and feeling great. Passed my goal and still losing. Jogging 4 miles a day. Best thing I did for myself was the sleeve!!!!

Way to go! I'll be 62 in July '17. I'll be one yr post op sleeve the middle of July. So far from my surgery I've lost 70#! I've been struggling some lately and have tried to increase my exercise and having trouble with that bcos of a back injury that has me on disability. Ugh!
You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

  2. I'm 61. I'm 1 year post-op. I lost 10 lbs the few weeks pre-op as my Dr. put me on liquids. I lost another 30 post-op and that was it. I continue to struggle...up 2 lbs...down 2-3 lbs. I can't drop below 175 and my goal weight is 110 (I'm only 5 feet tall). I have 60-80 grams of Protein daily and almost always at 64 oz Water daily. Terribly disheartened and disappointed. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but getting more and more depressed as the months go by and the weight doesn't go down. I feel I'm still dealing with the same struggle as before surgery but now I can't even eat enough to enjoy the food. Terribly disheartened.

How is your calorie and fat intake? Drinking anything with sugar or frying foods?
This all came easy bcos these were some of my traps. I was also getting so I was "grazing" that's another big no no.
If I can help u in any way I'll be glad to. I'd love to have a conscience Buddy!

  3. I have two Lab/Hound X's.

My kids and I adopted both of them when they were tiny pups from a kill shelter. They're part of my family today.

They are really cute! I rescue also. Buddy had a sister but sadly she took a walk on her own and was killed on the Hwy. My daughter and her fiancé live here and they have a pocket Beagle and a Bagle, Fern and Daisy Mae Bell. Never a dull moment!

  4. I seem to be losing steadily. I know its only been 11 days and things can slow down. At the intro class they gave a basic formula and so I was expecting to loose 80 pounds in a year. Just about what a want and under 200 lbs. I watched lots of tubes and read lots of blogs (It seems that people who are eating grill cheese sandwiches a week after surgery like to make videos!) "Average" includes everyone....So was left with the impression that what I will get out of this is exactly what I put in.

Keep up the good work bcos you can do it! We all can...we just have to get down to business!

  5. With the sleeve I have lost 103 pounds and I was 60 when I had the surgery. Overall in my 50's and 60's I have lost a total of 285 pounds and I can only walk 4 to 5 minutes due to 4 herniated disc and lots of other physical complications due to an accident I had in my 30's and obesity. If I can do it at this age and in this physical condition, You All Can Do It!

I'm 61 and I'm 8mo out. I have lost over 60 # so far since my Sleeve last July. I guess it's true that we are never satisfied! I am presently trying to regroup, increase exercise, decrease carbs and increase Protein and Water. It's not an easy journey but very worthwhile!

  6. I am scared that my sleeve has stretched cause I almost a year out from surgery and I am eating more food, than I did the first couple of months and It worries me. I stop sodas like 6 +months ago. My weight loss is slow. I just don't want to go backwards with the weight loss I wasn't working out all that much but I have now recently increased that as well will my weight loss pick back up again

I've struggled as well. I'm 8 mo out and need to be more rigid with myself! I'm increasing my Water, Protein and exercise!

  7. Try not to get wrapped up in that stuff. I am 5'6" and started out at 293 today I am 169 and still losing. It is much slower now but it is definitely still coming off with the inches. Just keep on keeping on and you will reach your goal before you know it! My surgery was June 6, 2013 so I am 16 months post op and it is still working. [emoji4]

    Super you give me hope!

  8. I am a year post sleeve! I have gained 5 lbs, feel like I snack all day and meals. My doctor said my low weight would be 135-140. I have not even gotten close to that. I have lost 67lbs. . I current weight is 154. I am so glad I had the sleeve ,but would like to lose more along with the love handles. My calories 900 a day. 60-70  Protein a day. Drink 65-75 oz  Water a day. I do walk 3 miles three times a week. Light resistance twice a week. Looking for a buddy and support.

How are you doing now? I'm 8 months out and have been struggling some. I also could use some support. I'm 61 and disabled with a back injury. I'm a widow one of my grown kids live with me and the others live within 1-1 1/2 hrs away. I'm a dog lover. What about you?

  9. I also had started to gain a lil wt back. It scared me really bad! I didn't want to fail and I more than anything wanted to succeed! So I have started back using the Lose it App and consciously exercising more. I'm doing better. Not great bcos now I'm more depressed! I don't want to have to "DIET" my whole life! I guess I didn't get that when this all started...I thought I wouldn't be able to eat enuf to gain weight!!! So dumb!!! Anyway I'm 8 months out and I've lost over 60# . Nights are the worst! Any other suggestions??? Anyone? I'm 61 and disabled with a back injury.
