  1. @@rickm Thank you for the great information! Very valid points.
  2. I'm almost 3 months out and I can eat 2 poached eggs without any problem. I've been doing it for the past 6 weeks. I can't eat anything with it but I tolerate it really well. It stays with me for quite some time though. It's odd how I can eat 3 oz of protein for lunch with veggie, drink my shake for breakfast and eat 2 healthy snacks during the day but come dinner time, I can barely eat 2 oz of protein. It's like I'm full from eating the rest of the day. I'm still trying to adjust my eyes to my stomach size. I put food on my plate and think THAT'S ALL???, yet I can't eat it all. I love it!
  3. Sorry, I didn't see the 2 year stall part. I would definitely say try to reset your pouch. Lord knows the liquid diet and pureed diet aren't fun, but do you remember how great it felt to lose weight during that time? Use that as your motivation.
  4. How far out are you from surgery? How long has your stall lasted? How much weight have you lost?
  5. I was sleeved on Nov 1st and on that day, my BMI was lower at 33. I lost 27 lbs the 2 months before surgery and I've lost 33 since. A total of 60. I weigh again on Saturday. I think it's been slow post-op but I have to stop and look at the big picture. I'VE LOST 60 LBS and I'M ONLY 25 LBS FROM GOAL!!! Yes!!!!!

    Here come the haters!

@@AMJK79 Wait staff just can't get over the idea that I DON'T want at least a glass of water with my meal. I would say, "to hell with it" and let them bring it and just not drink it, but I don't want to accidentally take a drink.

    Result Calculator

With this calculator, just remember, people aren't numbers! It gives an average expectancy, but those individuals for whom they gathered the norms, had different personal standards. What I mean by that is maybe they didn't follow their program to a "T", maybe they didn't exercise as much as you, maybe they allowed more carbs. Everybody's plan is different and everybody's willingness to follow the plan is different too. There are way too many variable in weight loss surgery patients, to say this is what you can expect. Look at all the vets on here who have lost all of their excess weight and have been able to maintain it. @@JamieLogical is a great example! Just work the program the right way, have patience through the process regardless if it takes a couple of years, and don't give up on yourself because you don't think you will loose more than what that calculator says.

    Fears...

Hate to say this, but you will have loose skin with the sleeve too. It all has to do with genetics, age, amount of weight that needs lost, etc. If you have stretch marks now, the chance of loose skin is great. It's a sad fact of being obese and then trimming down to a normal weight.
  9. I'll look in both places. Thanks for the great idea!
  10. In what department do you buy the Parm Crisps? Dairy, frozen, ????

    Already sleeved question

I've been very selective on who I have let known. It's nobody's business but my immediate family's. If I was told that, I would tell them they have no idea what they are talking about. I would be tempted to show them my daily food log so they can see exactly what I eat on a daily basis and how much exercising I do. I think that would shut them up, because there's NO WAY they could do this.
  12. Do you have an air fryer where you can fry veggies? I think this would help. Some programs allow light popcorn. Mine doesn't but I can see where this would be helpful. Good Luck, cravings SUCK!!!

MY EX TRIED TO TEAR ME DOWN

You look amazing and you are a beautiful woman. My ex used to do the same thing to me, and it really affected my self-esteem. After we were no longer together, I realized he was so insecure and hated himself, so he verbally attacked me. It was pure emotional abuse. So glad to hear that he is your EX.

    Weighing or measuring food?

I weight all protein and measure vegetables.

    Here come the haters!

@@CrowMilk I went cold turkey. It wasn't easy but it wasn't too bad either. It's not to say that I don't get "head hunger" for sweets but so far, I've been able to avoid them. Those dang protein drinks (Premier) are so sweet that I think it takes away my desire from anything else. I do eat a sugar free popcycle at night, and call it my dessert. I had a harder time going cold turkey from caffeine. I actually hated life for about a week and everybody in my office that I work with, got on my last nerve! I'm not allowed any type of juice on my plan, but I've never been a juice drinker. Again, love my popcycles.

    To Whom it may concern.....

Well said......... I am not familiar of the post you are talking about, but if you only want to say something hateful, look in a mirror and say it to yourself. We need encouragement on this site. Sometimes I read posts where I say, "REALLY"? I just keep my negative opinions to myself. I may give words of education but not hatefulness.

    Here come the haters!

I only told a few people because I don't want to hear the negative comments. This is my personal journey and I plan to keep it that way. When people ask what I'm doing to lose weight, I tell them the following: I haven't had Diet Coke or sugar since August 1st. In November, I cut out all refined carbs. My diet is made up of protein, veggies, few fruits, lots of water and exercise. None of that is a lie.

    Cookies!

I definitely wouldn't handle it by eating cookies. That is going to sabotage your weight loss efforts. Try the SF popcycles or pudding and see if that will help curb your cravings. How about greek yogurt? This is where you are going to have to buckle down and really use your willpower. That's the things about WLS, a chocolate chip cookie still smells and tastes like a chocolate chip cookie. We have to find ways to resist the urge. Good luck

    The Dreaded Stall

My longest was 2 weeks. I waited it out too. I've had several stalls since my Nov 1st surgery. They are frustrating but the scale is still going down in small steps.

    Weight Loss Rate/Patterns

@@gustavio I kept it off for almost 10 years. I had to workout like the devil to do it though. When I got hurt in Afghanistan and had to have 5 orthopedic surgeries in 15 months, it put a stop to my exercising. I keep eating like a thin person though. Believe me, I'm excited to have this new tool. I'm going to make it work for me too. I'm a very disciplined person so I'm sure I will be successful. Patience just isn't my strength. I'm working on that too. lol

    Stall?

I am 11 weeks post of and 1/2 of those weeks have been stalls. My longest stall was 2 weeks, during the pureed stage. My weight loss has been slow but it continues to move downward so I'm staying positive.
  22. Girl, you got this!!!! Can't wait to hear you have your surgery date.

    SCARED OF DEVELOPING GERD!

I had GERD before surgery but it has worsened since. Like the others above, I will take a PPI the rest of my life. The trade off is worth it though. I'm a speech pathologist and GERD can affect the vocal cords but you can control it.

    Surgery Scheduling Fee?

My insurance pays 100% but I had to pay $25 dollars for 2 nights in the hospital. I have Tricare Prime.

    Weight Loss Rate/Patterns

I love 27 lbs pre-op. Since that time, my weight loss has slowed down considerably. The first month I lost 16 lbs. The 2nd month 8 lbs. This month only 5 lbs and it's been very emotionally hard on me. I'm doing EVERYTHING right!!! I said the other day that I lost more consistently with Weight Watchers, when I ate 3X the amount of food and had a whole stomach. I just need to try and focus on the big picture. This is a lifetime journey. I'm really considering throwing out my scales because my weight loss/lack of loss, seems to dictate my mood.
