Here we go!!! I have BCBS Federal and they cover WLS, great! What's not so great, I have taken so many test with my Bariatric office that I'm ready to pull my hair out and scream to the top of my lungs. I can't decide if they are being thorough or a blood sucking leech trying to suck out all the money they can. First there was my first visit with the surgeon. $40 copay rt? Wrong!!!! $40 for the Bariatric center and $40 to his surgical office! that makes absolutely no sense. Then I had my psych eval ($30) who sent back I needed another evaluation... 2nd psych eval with another Dr. ($60) he's says ur fine, I don't see any issues, why were u sent to me ok. Let's keep moving... not 1 but 2 sleep studies that results were the same (2x150) my PCP and my hematologist wanted me to come back to the office to write my clearance. Now let me just say I had just seen them a month ago (30+40) I go in the office and they are like so u want to have wls? Yes muthaf***er!!!!! Writes clearance. I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been scheduled for my final test, EGD and pulmonary fx and chest X-ray. I knew that I would have costs to pay before hand. My dietician asked me what my personal goal was and then told me what the clinics goal was. Only off by 10 lbs. I said I'd love to be 135 they want me at 125. For my height I think it's doable, but I haven't been 125 since 10th grade Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Gaining the weight to meet 40 bmi has been a nightmare for me. It's so hard to gain it. I ate and ate and ate. I finally made wt rt before my appt. now I can't stop the over eating cycle. I received a packet in the mail today from my surgeons office. Which had new pt application, an arbitrary agreement, as well as estimate for surgery deposit. (Long sigh) I know it could be a lot worse. Seeing as some have to visit Mexico to pay way more than I. I'm very grateful that my insurance covers the procedure, now I just have to come up with ways to pay $489.00, plus the other things I have left to do. ( 3 more NUT visits, sleep study, EDG, chest X-ray. I'm super excited and nervous at the same time. It's starting to feel real. Especially since I will be mailing checks to my surgeon now. Hoping that the sleep study and EDG folks will let me make monthly payments. I guess the next big invoice will come from the hospital. This will be my Christmas gift to myself this year. I hap to meet with my PCP not for insurance purposes but what my surgeon required. The weight loss clinic already did my labs so I had the results faxed over to my PCP. He only had to write a statement on a rx pad stating I was healthy enough to undergo wls surgery. I'm sorry ur PCP is being an ass. In case you might want to know: Those aren't sugar free Popsicles.....no sugar added is very different than sugar free. Sugar free Popsicles have no carbs. The ones you show in the photo are made with fruit and fruit juice, so they have all the naturally occurring sugars and carbs; they just don't have any ADDITIONAL regular sugar added. I had a coworker that did some kind of program where she drank lots of Protein shakes and once she got to get ideal wt she eats meats and veggies. I think it was called ideal protein.
