Spicy food?
Ever since surgery I've been craving spicy food. My doctor said I can eat it and if my new stomach doesn't like it then I'll know right away. I'm 4 weeks post op with chili & buffalo flavored foods calling my name. Anyone able to eat spice with no issues? TIA Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sore, burning pain
I'm just about 4 weeks post op and I'm still feeling sore and some slight burning pain behind my large incision. Is anyone else still sore this far out? Maybe I'm just being paranoid Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long until you can lift a (21lb) baby?
My doctor told me 6 weeks but I couldn't wait. My husband stayed home for the first week and then I was all on my own after that. My daughter weighs 25lbs and I did lift her when I had too. You can feel a pull, just take it easy. I started letting her climb into her car seat herself. You just forget sometimes and are reminded "oh shit! That hurt" I wish I could avoid it because I don't want to hurt myself but it's impossible. Im 3.5 weeks out and starting the feel pretty normal Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tricare Insurance
That's awesome! I hope its that smooth for me. However, I have to do a 6 month nutrition plan before surgery Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App That must be a requirement from your surgeon's office. Unless Tricare South in different. I live in Texas, stationed at Laughlin AFB Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tricare Insurance
I did not have to do a 6 month nutrition plan. I just had to visit with a NUT who was located in my surgeons office. I just had to have 3 weigh ins and it didn't matter if I gained weight. I actually gained weight after each visit but I just hit the 40BMI mark and couldn't loose if I wanted to be approved Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tricare Insurance
I just had surgery thru Tricare and it was so easy! From the day I saw my PCM for the referral to surgery day it was only 3 months! I was told Tricare is the easiest insurance to gain approval from. My surgeon's office also assigned me a patient advocate who made sure everything was getting checked off the list???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Is this normal?
Maybe you just need more time on liquids. How much Protein are you getting in? Drinking shakes? You might be healing slower if you aren't hitting your protein goal. I would def call your surgeon to ask them. Hope you feel better soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Praying it calms down once I'm allowed soft foods. My plan is... 1-3weeks PO / liquids 4-6 weeks PO / soft foods 7th week reg diet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

UARS w/ Hypopnea? Comorbidity?
He's prescribing me a cpap, but seems this diagnosis is a big grey area on whether or not it's a comorbidity. I have no other issues besides high cholesterol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Had no clue you had sleep apnea?
My snoring still keeps me from getting into a deep sleep and the doctor is still prescribing me a cpap ... Are you getting a cpap? I wonder if disruptive snoring that justifies a cpap is considered a comorbidity ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Had no clue you had sleep apnea?
Had my sleep study last night... No apnea but I do have some obstruction and never entered deep sleep because of it. Wonder if insurance will consider it as comorbidity since I still need a cpap? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My journey has begun!
They think I'm crazy but I don't care what they think. I know where they're coming from because I use to think the same about wls surgery but I do everything "right" and I'm STILL obese. It's not the easy way out, it's the only way for me. I'm so excited to find another crossfitter going thru this journey! If we can do what we do carrying this extra weight can you imagine how powerful we'll be after?!! I can't wait to look the way I feel! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
