Wow, are you sure you on the correct stage? I have never read being on clear liquids that long. I'm on liquids for 3 weeks but I'm allowed Protein Shakes and broth. Three more days, you so got this!

I was too, it stopped being itchy after two days.

Hi, I was sleeved 4/18 and had absolutely NO PAIN. Yes, the gas hurt but the surgery itself, nothing! I could sleep on my sides 2 hours after surgery. I wish you the same!

I had my sleeve 4/18 and came home with out blood pressure medication. I still can't believe it, I so didn't believe it I went to my internist today for a bp check and it was perfect. I knew that diabetics often didn't need meds after weight loss surgery but I was really surprised about blood pressure being affected too. Have other of you gone home with your blood pressure no longer an issue?

Lol and last night I had the biggest test of will power. It was akin to psychological torture. I had to fill Easter eggs with chocolate and jelly Beans. The first time I have ever done that without eating it! I even survived the Reese's Peanut Butter cup eggs. I haven't done perfect on my fast but that made me feel like I finally got my brain right and ready for the sleeve.
Lol, year, 5 baskets filled without a cheat! We have so got this[emoji106]

Good luck to everyone getting sleeves tomorrow, remember sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk! Thanks for all the helpful information from all the experts, I really appreciated it.
Happy to say I need to be at the hospital at 6AM so I'm the first one of the day. Hoping the surgeon is well rested and awake! [emoji6]

It depends on when your surgeon's office submits to insurance co. and then how long it takes them to send approval.

Today I bowed two games with my family and that hasn't happened in so long! I'm down 40 pounds from when I had my first appointment and I'm already envisioning myself going on long bike rides and maybe even skiing again!
I am so excited for my surgery on the 17th!

UH OH, Has anyone made the mistake of starting to watch a YOUTUBE video on the sleave surgery? I lasted 3 minutes, that was more than enough! Never again, BIG MISTAKE, scared me to death!

Thank you for sharing. Carbs kill me too, during weight loss. Do you exercise daily?

I was told if you aren't hungry it is not horrible at the beginning if you don't eat but make sure you are getting all your liquids. My nutritionist recommended Isopure low carb beverages so you get Protein from your liquid, in addition, to your Protein Shakes if eating is a problem.

At three weeks post op we are still on puree food and my surgeon has us on a strict regimen for eating. For weeks 5 and 6 after surgery we still on soft food. His patients lose a lot of weight if they follow it. No drinking Fluid 1/2 hour before or after eating. Protein first and if room, cooked vegetables. (No starch vegetables) serving size 1/4 cup
This is the sample menu
7-8 AM 1/4 cup egg white
8-10Am 12 oz clear fluids
10-11:30 8 oz Protein Shake
12-1 1/2 of a 2oz turkey meatball
1:30 -3 12oz clear liquid
3-4PM 1 string lowfat cheese
4-6 PM 12oz liquid
6-7Pm 1/4 cup or 2oz scallops
7:30-9PM 12oz liquid
9-10 1/4 Greek yogurt frozen
10-11 8oz clear Water
Total 66g protein and 62oz fluids Although, the diet is not calorie based, this is under 500.
I have researched other programs and below is from UCSF Medical Center and is similar to Yale
Recommended meal plan For Weeks Two to Eight Until Two Months Post-Surgery
At this time, your caloric intake will probably be no more than 500 calories a day, divided into six to eight small meals. Recommended portion sizes are 1/4 cup for solids and 1/2 cup for liquids.
Obviously, you should follow your own doctor's recommendations but if you didn't receive anything I hope this helps. Good Luck

Hi, these are all from past posts
Your own pillow, slippers, pj bottoms, phone and charger, chapstick, gas-x, moisturizer, baby wipes for before your shower, something to read, CPAC machine, comfortable clothes for ride home,
I'm bringing my own organic chicken broth because the hospitals broth is a bouillon cube which made me gag after my gallbladder operation:)

I realize every person is different, and I should follow my doctor's advice but I would love to know if you count calories, what your percentages of carbs, Protein, fat are or any other advice you would like to share. Thank you in advance.

April Sleevers, What Changes Have You Noticed?
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted · Edited by queendeborahbee
Hi, I had my sleeve 4/18, lost 16 pounds during pre- surgery diet and down 12 since surgery. I'm getting all my Protein and liquids in, my calories are under 400.
Threw out a bunch of bras
Shoes that didn't fit, fit
My daughter said Mom you have a waist
Because of bad knees I can't walk a lot but trying to ride bike daily, need to make that more of a commitment!
No issues with wanting to eat other foods even though I'm really sick of Protein Shakes and Soups.< br /> Mentally in a great place, so excited to keep losing and getting more healthy!
Left the hospital with no BP meds
