Hiatal hernias are caused when a section of the stomach is pushed through the opening where the esophagus comes down through the diaphragm. They have to bring that section back down and close the enlarged opening. I had bad acid reflux prior to my sleeve but nothing since. Fixed my acid reflux.

My doctor said weight loss could be slower when you have hypothyroidism and are post menopausal. You will lose weight but not as fast. Just be patient with yourself

Czechrn got a reaction from VSGAnn2014 in 62 having doing the sleeve on May 3rd.
I am going to be 67 on July 4th. I had surgery on 12/30/15. I have lost 60 lbs. Weight loss has been slow due to having hypothyroidism. I am walking more, yesterday 2.5 miles. Six months ago couldn't have walked a quarter of a block. I am so glad I had the surgery. I figure I didn't put it on in a year, just glad for loss I have had.
