Fears
I had a personal trainer for over a year and exercised for 4 days a week. I would lose 3 pounds despite all the sweat and tears but when I would go in for my doctor's appointment, no one would believe me. He could not believe that I could be exercising that much and not losing weight. I found out that I had pcos and insulin resistance which explained the problem but didn't solve it. I know how it feels to give it your best and come to zero results because I have done that for a good portion of my life. I went through with this surgery with a part of me knowing that even cutting my body organ off of me may not fix the problem. I was going to be the exception for whom this option too was not going to work. Except it did. Not the way it does for others but in my own special way. I am 3 months out but have lost 30 pounds only. I was 173 and 5'2. I was frustrated over how others are losing so much while my scale moves so slowly but I have learned to appreciate the fact that I am losing. I only have 20 or 35 more pounds to lose but those are the pounds that I carried with me for years.. Pounds that won't shed off regardless of what I did. You may not lose like others but you will lose at your own pace. That counts for a lot. If it takes me a year to shed those 30 pounds, I would still be greatful and satisfied. When Is The Best Time To Buy New Clothes?
I don't intend on buying anything unless I have lost 75% of what I want to lose. It's different if one has an office job. I can get away with wearing my baggy scrubs for now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Finally!
Never ever ever buy a strawberry flavoured Protein. It is so disgusting. Could you post a picture of the jar?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Alcohol
I think it's not so much the drinking in it's self but the fact that you didn't realize it until you had three glasses down which is the scary part. It happened. You can't do anything about it now but stay away from alcohol if you can't get a grip on your willpower in its presence. I am three months out and I had a white sangaria the other day that ended up being too strong for me. Prior to the surgery, I would drink a little once in a blue moon so I don't have the tolerance for it in the first place. Did you drink it all in a short period of time or through out the night?? Coffeeeee
Caffeine is a diuretic. We are already having trouble drinking Water when we are at early stages so do you really want to drink something that is going to make you urinate most of the already limited amount of liquids you get in?? Your body needs that. So drinking coffee increases your chances of getting dehydrated. Once you can drink normally, you should not have a problem with a cup or two of coffee in a day. Coffee is also acidic and induces symptoms of gerd. You don't want any of that stuff in your stomach while it has just been stapled back together. Give it time to heal. NSV - Blood work
My first post op results came in last week and I too was clear on everything even though I had myself convinced that I had become anemic. I take Vitamin d drops, materna multi vitamin and Biotin. I have added vitamin b12 but I am not sure if one dose of 2500mcg is enough for a day or not..?? Also, do you guys recommend that I take biotin if I am taking vitamin b12?? Hard time imagining myself small
Imagine going to a store, seeing a nice dress, wanting to put it on and getting it to not only pass your breasts but actually define a tiny waist. If you still can't imagine that, go to a store, pick up a medium or small dress and buy it. One that you like for reasons other than it being a decent size. Every day when you wake up from sleep, take it out and have a good look at it before starting your day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Random Simple Recipe
No, i cut them in half. And each half is between 3-4 inches. If your asking if i can finish the whole wrap in one sitting, NO. But i can finish half in 15 minutes. Each half is only 3 bites. Unless you nibbling like you 2 weeks post op lol Sent From Galaxy Note 5 using the BariatricPal App You should see the look on subway lady's face when I ask her to slice my 12 inch tuna sub in to 6 parts. I make six meals out of it and I have difficulty finishing each meal at one sitting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No veggies.....?
This is strange. I started eating fresh vegetables 4 weeks after the surgery and I was able to tolerate it. 3 months out and all of a sudden, it hurts like hell when I try to eat fresh vegetables. Took me a while to figure out what was triggering it. Ouch. What the hell!? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hair loss
Yes. It started off gradually but I was told to scrub my scalp with some special shampoo for seborrheic dermititis and by the time I was ready to wash the stuff off, there were clumps of hair running through my fingers.. I thought I would use extensions but I don't think our hair is strong enough to hold on to extensions. I feel so so defeated and depressed. Hair was the one thing I could feel pretty about all these years. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Breakfast
I just added a scoop of slim fast Protein powder to my unflavoured Protein shake and it came off too sweet. I knew a commercial shake was not the smartest idea but I can't believe people actually think it's possible to lose weight while consuming that much sugar. Eating too much? Metformin?
The last time I took my regular dose of metformin, I ended up rolling on the floor in pain. I nearly called 911. My doctor took me off of it immediately. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I messed up
You need to be more in tune with yourself. Think about what you are doing before you actually do it. I used to be like that. 500 things used to run through my mind at once and by the time I would realize what I had just put in my belly, it would be long too late. Change the routine by being in touch with yourself. Slow down. Don't rush through your day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

"I lost weight and my cholesterol went up!"
^ I agree. The doctor is a doctor for a reason. I went for my first lab results review and everything had improved but the cholesterol had come down from 6 something to 5 something only which is why I searched it on google. I know I am eating healthy and I was relieved to read this article. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Doritos
That is the worst part. There is not much left of the Doritos at that point, you might as well eat the rest of it too. Wouldn't it be if we all lived in a camp where we could smack junk off of each other's hands every time someone gave in to a craving?? "No! You are not doing that to yourself. You just earned yourself three laps, missy" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
