Cindy, I am so sorry about the surprise root canal. Nice that you could get it fixed right away tho. Suzanne, yep, when you don't/can't do the work yourself, ya gotta fork out the dough for it. We're doing field fence. Like pig fence, the 4 inch (?) squares, with metal posts in cement, 3 gates - a 9ft we can drive thru w/the truck, another wide enough to get the lawn tractor thru on the other side and another at the house between the front and back. Then he's going to string barbless wire across the top to make sure our big boy stays off the fence. He's going to start the 16th and should be done by the end of that week. I can't wait. It's not going to be the nicest looking fence, I prefer wood, but it's going to be strong and sorta blend in so it's not real noticeable. That will be nice. And it will be SO nice to be able to go outside and play with the dogs and get them a good RUN and wear them out! I was starting to seriously wonder if I could train them to my treadmill! LOL!!! I can walk 'em but the pups especially, need to RUN! Oh and my mom offered to be our bank for a few months so we don't have to finance/charge the fence. It'll save us the charge card fees for the contractor and any interest we'd accrue by putting it on our card and paying it off that way. My mom is the best. :redface: I so didn't expect that! We have power lines for the neighborhood that run near the back of the property so PG&E has a contract service that comes out to trim the trees away from the wires and poles for fire/wind/snow safety. Hi! Busy day today. I have a memorial service at church this AM, church work to take care of and get my hair cut this afternoon. We need to put a fence up and we got the estimate, nearly $4,000! This is for a wire fence. Not wood. No wood to be found in fact. I don't know how we're going to pay for it. Hope y'all have a great day!

Morning! Cindy, the insurance is horrid!! I dread what it will cost us, here in CA, for DD by the time she is driving. I don't have to worry about it for another 11-12 years tho. Good luck, Tracy!!! My mom and sister both have bypass and they've done really well over the many years since their surgeries. My sister has since had 3 kids and kept the weight off. My mom, before the back surgery that she's still recovering from, has discovered the gym, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc! She's gained about 10-15 back but it's b/c she can't DO anything right now. Three months out and they JUST started PT for her. Anyway, all WL surgeries have their successes and failures and you have to get your head on straight with all of them. In some ways I do believe bypass is easier than the band. I don't think you have to THINK about as much with bypass. Getting stuck, how to eat, what to eat, getting filled or unfilled, etc. I know my mom has to watch things but that's b/c her system was messed up before surgery, so not much has changed for her except portions. My sis has issues once in awhile with stuff going right thru her but that's if she overloads on, sugar, I think. Anyway, just lots of hugs and best wishes, my friend.

Worked over 6 hours today with nothing but a 10 minute break late this afternoon. I've been going home with migraines b/c I'm not eating anything all day. Then I come home and once I start eating, I don't stop. AND b/c I'm not drinking all day either, I'm drinking while eating or soon after eating. UGH! We got home about 4 today and right off the bat, drank an atkins shake. Had already taken my migraine meds, then had a frapp. The caffeine helps my head too. Ate some chips, candy and finally made an egg scramble w/some veggies, cheese and salsa. Headache is trying to go away. I'm tired. Teary. Out of sorts. Etc. Hope y'all have a great night!

Can I ditto that?! Suzanne, the phone thing w/your neighbor is a great idea! See, if we were like that - I could totally understand our neighbors calling animal control but we honestly had NO clue. Especially after talking to our other next door neighbor. The dog that went on a rampage should've been shot on site. That happened to my IL's and it killed one of their dogs. It was horrible. Happened right in front of them. Anyway, today I left Dakota inside by herself and put a baby gate up so she stayed on the kitchen/dining room side of the house. And put the pups on the deck, which is on the other side of the house. That way they couldn't bark at each other thru the slider! Everyone was fine when we got home so we'll see how that works and if I get a phone call from Ms. Animal Control. Fence guy came out this PM and will give us some numbers sometime next week. Not looking forward to that. It's gonna be expensive, I'm sure! We'll see. Don't know nuthin' about tails. <shudder> Work sucked today. Have a great night!

Thinking of you, Terri! Yep, one of the neighbors. I think I know who it is. Still irritates me that they called it in instead of just coming over and saying something. We had no clue there was a problem. Today, I put the pups in crates and Dakota had the run of the house. But it was for 6 hours!!! And I got off early today! We were talking to another neighbor just a few days ago who is outside ALL the time and he says he doesn't hear them much. He hears Dakota more but it's not excessive. He said he'd let us know if it was a problem. Hope he means it as that is the side of the house the yard is going in on. We just don't know what to do! Anyway. Kat, sounds like you were very productive outside!

OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!! Frickin' CALL me if there is a problem!!!!!!!!! DD and I got home today to find a notice from animal control that our dogs are excessive barkers! puuuulllllleeeezzzzzzeeeee!!!!!!! It's Dakota. And she only barks if there is stuff going on in the neighborhood. The other 2 don't bark much, if at all. Tho Reggie will bark at the deer. I'm so pissed! I have purposefully sat in the neighborhood so the dogs can't see me and have listened and there is not much barking going on. They flip out when we leave and come home and when someone comes in the driveway. So I've got a call in to the officer who posted us so I can play nicey nice. We are working on getting a fence up on the other side of the house so I called the fence guy and asked if we could expedite this. He'll be here Wednesday afternoon to see what we need and when we can get in his schedule. But I also want to be able to tell that to the officer so she doesn't take the dogs or send us to court with tickets. Dammit!! Just what I needed! UGH!!! At least the neighbor on the side that the yard is going will tell us if there is a problem! We've actually asked him, even as recently as last week. He's outside all the time and he only hears Dakota once in awhile. I'll talk to him again to make sure and to emphasize to let us KNOW and we'll try to take care of it. In the meantime, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Hi Ladies! Yep, Suzanne, he needed to get stitches. Or should have. It's pretty bad. Don't know what happened once he got to the clinic. I'm not hero. Just have a strong stomach for things like that. If it'd been my own finger? Good God! I'd have probably passed out! LOL!! Tracy, it's amazing to me that idiots get rewarded for their stupidity! Ugh! Today I need to go up to storage and pull my card tables and folding chairs out and bring those home, need to run to the grocery store and start cleaning the house. I've got Bunco here on Tuesday night. Should be fun but it's just SO much work! I have to move furniture around to get the tables set up and make it so we can move around the tables. With the card tables and my dining room table, there are 3. Luckily the room is big enough to handle it all. House isn't set up well for this kind of thing but I make it work. Boss actually called me this AM to see if I could come in early. Well, by the time I got us out the door and DD to daycare and back across town, I was only 20 minutes early. And I walked in to chaos. Boss was short-handed AND had sliced his finger open to the bone and almost knuckle to tip. He's pale (and that says a lot for a hawaiian guy!) and shaking. He'd done it a few hours earlier, it bled for a couple of hours and it'd been an hour or so since then! Sheesh! Anyway, I calmly re-bandaged his finger while everyone else is making comments about how awful it is. Went to work and didn't lift my head until nearly 3!! Then he asks if I can stay til another gal gets there, should be soon. Sure, no problem. I didn't get off til about 4:30!!!!! Caught him before he was leaving to ask if he got my note and he says, "oh yea, no problem, I already changed it." So I look and he changed the 7 to a 9. :cool: All's good. For now... LOL!!! I swear, the drama is going to kill me, not the job itself!!

Morning Ladies! Never got a call yesterday from the boss-man so we'll see what happens when I go in at 11. I'm going to talk to him first. You are so clever! Well, developments are such that I'll be giving up my church job soon. It's a little sad but also good as well. I've been wanting to give up the books for some time now but there has been no one to take them over. The current secretary, as lovely a woman as she is, has no clue. She is leaving on the 1st to go back to school full-time and Pastor has hired already. The new gal is a friend, member of the church and will do a good job. She's also a trained bookkeeper! I'll probably start the transition in September. That will give her all of August to acclimate to the office and get the other stuff down. She will probably fully have the books before October, my 12 anniversary of working for our church. Thru the end of the year I'll help her as needed. Tax stuff/end of year mess. It's always a PITA. In a way it's a relief. Closing another chapter. Hope y'all have a great day!

The water company had a HUGE pip break down the road so all of us fast food places were hit. Started late morning and water came on late afternoon! We made it thru tho! Got my schedule today. Off tomorrow - sweet! Friday, 11-3 - nice!! Off the weekend, of course. Monday thru Wednesday, 7AM-3PM - ummmm hell NO! He'd already left so I left him a note. I had told him I can't be in before 9AM. Told him he could call me if needed but I'd see him on Friday. He can keep me at 7 but he won't see me til 9. We'll see what happens. He ain't gonna be happy but I'm not happy so ..... Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

My friend who works nights and is a shift supervisor (going to be asst. manager) text me last night to say the reason I have so many hours is b/c Del thinks I'm doing a good job. Okay. That's really great but I only want to be part-time! He is supposed to be working on the schedule this weekend so maybe Monday I can kinda see what the next week is shaping up to be. If he's got me there 9-5 every week day, I'm going to ask for Fridays off. I'll need those off when DD starts back to preschool anyway, so might as well do it now. I won't mind M-Th, 9-5 if I can have a weekday off to get stuff done. Hope y'all have a great day!

I am so glad this week is OVER!!! today went pretty good. He can't deny that when I'm there, I'm a good employee. He has been told every day this week that I'm doing well, that I'm liked, etc. This is all stuff I've just overheard. Embarrassing and I just keep doing what I'm doing and ignore them. Like I didn't hear it. This AM was kinda funny tho. I said, "Morning Del." And he just gave me a funny look. I laughed and said, "well it IS morning. Whether it's good or not is debatable but it IS morning!" He laughed and agreed with me. So that was good. He did blame me for another employee's crappy milkshake today! I hate that machine! If you don't do it right when you're mixing it, it sprays... everywhere! Most times I'm okay but he happened to walk around the corner yesterday when I had one spray on me. She was spraying hers all over today and he popped off with, "Did Michelle teach you how to make a shake?" She did say no. I also noticed today that if I had a shake order and he was out front, he was making them for me! I keep that up and I won't have to make too many of those damn things! The vanilla is fine, it's the chocolate and strawberry b/c you have to mix the syrup in the vanilla base. Anyway. Tracy, yes the drama queen is my manager! LOL!! Yes, he did hire me. I'm surprised at the way he's acting b/c he's been in the business FOREVER! This isn't his first rodeo, not by a long shot. DD loves going to VBS too. Our church has been doing it on Tuesday nights during the summer. In the fall they go back to Kids Bible Study on those nights. Terri, I'll hang on but not too horribly long. Hi. Totally exhausted. Worked yesterday from 2-10:30PM. Worked today from 9-5 and that's my schedule thru til Wed. I'll have Sat & Sun off. Liking it. Except my manager. He's driving me crazy. If things don't settle out after being open for a bit, then I'm gone. Don't need the stress. I'll give it a little time tho. Just hoping he's not like this all the time. It's crazy since we opened so I'm hoping that's all it is. Almost fired myself accidentally. Friday night, schedule was supposed to be done, he tells me I'm off til Wed. HIS manager calls me yesterday at 1:30 wondering why I didn't show up Monday and yesterday? WHAT!!!! She said don't worry about and to come in if I can. Luckily DH was home to be with DD so I went in. My manager was pissed and almost sent me home until he found out HIS manager called me in. SHE wanted me there. He says he didn't but he was fooling with the schedule all weekend and changed it and didn't bother to let me know. I was scheduled for 10-3 today but last night he told me he wanted 9-5 today. I get there this AM and he looks at me and tells me I'm early!!! He had forgotten that he wanted me early and all day! UGH!!!!!!! Like I said, just could be b/c of opening and how crazy it is but we'll see. We have a hardware store that I wouldn't mind working at and it's right next to DD's daycare. I might just go over and see if they're taking apps and if they would work with my schedule limitations. Like I said, I'll see what happens and give it some time but I'm NOT going to take on his stress!!! Kat, what a mess! Tracy, glad you're in and hooked up.
