Tracy, we're headed over to Pleasanton (a few hours away) to the Scottish Highland Games. We're "camping" while there. Tent, cookstove and all. BUT my idea of camping is heading higher up into "them thar hills" for a few days, NOT a grassy field amongst other tents and trailers at the fairgrounds! Kat, thanks. I don't have a problem letting DH take over! LOL! By the time he gets home, I'm practically throwing "it" (full responsibility) at him! :thumbup: We are a pretty good team. We tend to run everything by each other, if possible, if not, we do the best we can and hope it all works out. He can be gone for pretty long periods, tho it's rare. We had a summer a few years ago where he was literally home a TOTAL of 5 days in 3 months! A full day here, 1/2 a day there, etc. It is rare tho. It usually happens that he's gone for a couple of weeks and then finally gets home. Sometimes as long as a month gone, but just depends on the fires. Part of my problem right now is my symptoms. I feel like crap. I'm exhausted, everything hurts, no energy, etc. I kinda want to go this weekend but really would rather just stay home. And sleep! Oh Tracy, I take liquid children's everything. Even Ibuprophen (sp?). After getting stuck on a pill, I just can't do them anymore! :wub: Liquid or chewable for me. If I can't, then I crush it. Yuck! Did I tell y'all about the damn tree in the backyard? As the new fence was getting finished, DH discovered a vertical crack in one of our Oaks... that just happens to lean over the new fence. Wellllll, he got home Sunday after being gone for more than a week and noticed that the crack was getting bigger. I was looking at it last night and wow! Really noticeable. This AM, I looked out the window and not even looking at the tree and OH MY! Huge now! We had talked last night that we needed to get a guy out here to get it down before it fell down. Called the guy this AM. He shows up at 2, says he'll be back in the AM to take it down. He leaves and I swear not a half an hour later, you can hear it cracking! We were all outside at the time. DH was going to pull back some of the fence to clear the tree and we figured we'd let the dogs have a good run before we did that. Nope! I hollered "it's going, everybody in the house!" DD takes off to the house, I call the dogs and we head in. It's not down yet. The top of it is hung up in another tree. That is THE only reason it's not on the ground right now! Anyway, DH got the fence out of the way. Posts may get damaged but they're t-posts and can be replaced. It was the LONG run of wire that we were worried about getting damaged and it's clear now. No yard for the pups right now! So, now we have to deal with that mess before heading out of town tomorrow! Once the tree guy downs it, DH will buck up the tree to get it out of the way, put the fence back together and make sure it's safe for the dogs before we head out. I'm just glad it's doing it NOW instead of while we're gone. Our poor sitter would have had to call us over that one! Gotta get. It's late and I'm ready for bed soon. If I don't have a chance to check in tomorrow, y'all have a great weekend! We'll be home on Monday but not sure when I'll get on the computer.

I'm here, Tracy. Just feeling wiped out and not much in the mood for posting. Not even doing much of FB either. I do have an appointment with my new doc on the 20th. So that's good. Got Reggie in today for his re-test on heartworm and he's clear so we were able to pick up more monthly preventative for him. Paige has to be done before November, so we're set for a month or so. Reggie needs to lose a few pounds! He's 103 and his belly is starting to swing a bit! LOL! Gotta pack today for our trip this weekend. DD has preschool openhouse in the AM and we want to be all packed up, go to that, then stop for lunch, grab some cash and head outta town. Be back Monday sometime. Won't have internet for the weekend. We've got a friend staying at the house with the dogs. Easier and cheaper than kenneling them all somewhere. Kat, hope you had a nice lunch w/Rick. Thanks, Ladies. I'm trying to not panic before I get more information AND more testing done. It also kind of seems to answer a lot of questions for me too. I hope it all comes out negative except that I KNOW that something is going on. It's way more than just some pain and being tired. I'm WAY past tired and the pain is pretty constant. We'll see. Had a nice time at my friend's party. Bought a few things. Looking forward to getting them. I coulda spent A LOT of money today! Nice stuff. Have a great night!

Terri, sorry about your starving! It's always so hard when you start getting fills. Hang in there! Jen, sounds like you've already made up your mind. Suz, it DOES sound like y'all are moving! What a job! You're almost done tho and then you'll be on the road! I need some prayers. I found out yesterday that I have early indicators of Lupus. When my new doctor gets up here, then I'll have him run some more tests. According to the Lupus Foundation, I'm in a flare-up now. I also found a Lupus Symptom Quiz and I am positive for 8 of the 16 indicators they asked about. Some of those are blood/urine tests that I had to answer no to. Anyway, I'm a little stunned and today, upset. I'm praying that if I DO have it, that it stays out of my organs and continues to be mild. Thanks. We got to go see DH again last night. Friends were there, Dad works with DH and his wife and kids were there so DD got to play and had a great time. This afternoon we're headed over to a friend's house for a home decorating party. There is a clock that I want to buy for the dining room. DD gets to go too. Tomorrow, DH comes home and is off til the 16th. He took 2 shifts of vacation since we'll be gone next weekend. WhooHoo! Hi! Home from the city and everything is fine. Left a bunch of money at WalMart. :biggrin: DH got home to the mountains yesterday evening. We were able to have dinner with him and visit. We're hoping to see him tonight but not sure if it will work out. Kat, take a chance on the pup. Ya just never know and the indicators sound like he'd be a winner. Gotta go. Talk to ya later!

Angela, so glad about your AC! WhooHoo!!! Tracy, try everything else before considering declawing. It's an amputation and is painful for the cat for the rest of his/her life. Some deal better than others. Some actually go crazy from the pain. Also, if the cat ever gets out of the house, it's doomed if it can't defend itself. It would be better for the cat to find it a new home. Do you have any scratcher posts for the cat? Try spraying her with a vinegar/water solution when you catch her. Also, if you have the little plastic pills bottles, fill them w/a few dried beans and toss them towards her when she's doing it. That will distract her and it's okay if she plays with them. Another idea would be to temporarily cover the areas w/old carpet pieces until you can get her broken of this. It would save the material in the meantime. Best wishes with this. It's a tough one! Haven't heard from DH but it's too early so I'm not concerned. I guess concerned isn't really the right word. Not worried about him just hoping he can come back today. Just got thru baking 2 cakes. I'll frost them later after they cool. There is a fundraiser dinner at church tomorrow night and I signed up to bring a cake for dessert. Had the mixes here so made both. I'll take them to the church tonight and put them in the fridge. DD and I have to go to the city in the morning for her eye appt. We should be home after lunch but don't want to have to worry about the cakes. Figured it'd be better to deal with them today. Have a great day!

HI! Cindy, I'm sorry that you are having to deal with that at school but I'm glad you are there for the kids when no one else is. Suzanne, too funny about the new bras! I've got to buy some Friday when we're in Town. UGH! Tracy, good for you! Michael called tonight. He starts guaranteed time off on Sunday, so they HAVE to have him home that day. Well, there are 2 others with him that need to get home this weekend too, so looks like they are sending replacements to him tomorrow. IF it all works out, he should be back at the station tomorrow night! WhooHoo! He'll still be at work but he will be where we can go SEE him! DD and I are so excited! She's having a hard time this year. She totally "gets" that he's not home and not available. Have a great night y'all!

Angela, I hear ya on the heat! We're hitting over 100 here in the mountains! This AM it went from 90 to 97 in less than 1/2 an hour! We had to run some errands and I just could not put the pups out. That side of the house gets the sun first so even with the misters and fan on, it would have been too hot for them. I crated the pups in the bedroom with a fan blowing on high for them and left Dakota free run of the house. I also put the AC down to 78 for them. Poor babies! I've been having problems w/my DSL box lately but usually if you turn it off, then turn it back on, it resets itself and works pretty good again for a time but it's been getting worse. I meant to take it to the provider yesterday to have it replaced but forgot to grab it before we left the house. So guess what happens? Yesterday afternoon, it goes out completely! I didn't notice it til just about 5. Figures! Took it by today just before lunch and they gave me a new one. It's all hooked up (obviously, duh!) and working GREAT!!! I missed my internet!! LOL! DH is still out on the fire. He was hoping they would release him today but I haven't heard from him so am assuming they are keeping them longer. I should hear from him tonight after they send them off for downtime. Hi to everyone!!! That INCLUDES you, Plain! LOL!!

Hi Plain! Miss you! Quick stop again to say they arrested him. Turns out he did get physically violent with my sister last night. Grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the floor. My niece jumped in the middle of it and made him stop. Guess he was still going after her. Anyway, so he's in lock-up right now. Sis is collecting the kids as they get out of school. The department is doing everything they can for her. SO glad about that! Still worried as to what will happen when he gets out tonight or tomorrow. She has a restraining order but we've all heard the stories and seen the nightmares on the 6 o'clock news. Anyway, thank you and please keep everyone in your prayers!

Thanks! Kat, oh yea, the hospital thing was documented, the cops were out and everything. She went by ambulance. This was about 15 years ago or so. He went to jail, had to go to court, etc. As far as we know he has NEVER touched the kids. The oldest is 16, the boys are all under 7. She had PLENTY of help and time to make a break for it. We don't understand why she has stayed. She does fight back and gives him what-for. But she told mom this time she's had it. We'll see. I'm just afraid for the kids. Esp, my niece. For him, it's all about the boys. Niece can do no right, boys can do no wrong. Niece has also become like the family Cinderella with him. He doesn't work, stays home for the boys, which is fine, if he was an equal partner in things but my sis works 12 hour shifts and still has to clean, shop, do laundry, etc. But when she is gone, it's all on my niece to watch the boys and do the housework. If the boys get into her stuff it's her fault, etc. The 6 of them live in a 900 sq ft house and all the kids share ONE room! The house is stuffed with crap, etc. It just sucks and mom and I have never understood why my sis stays or allows it. DH and I have offered several times, latest was at DD's b-day party in June, for niece to come live with us. We would take that on for her (niece). Anyway, so now we wait and see what happens. I'm an hour and a half away so if there is an emergency, I can't get there too fast. So we just wait. I hate waiting!

Jumping on quick to ask for PRAYERS! My mom just called a bit ago (it's after 10 here) to tell me that my sis got kicked out of her house by her husband. He threw her clothes out onto the front lawn and refused to let her take the 3 young boys with her. Her eldest packed her stuff and left with her mom. They are safe tonight at a friend's house. He doesn't know where they are. He is an abuser and has been physical in the past (put her in the hospital one night, years ago) so we have NO idea where this will all lead. We need LOTS of prayers. Thank you!

Jen, glad you had such a wonderful weekend, whether it's the "end" or not, I am glad you enjoyed your time. I think George has been good for you. And maybe the "Plan" was for him to just be passing thru at this time. He's what you needed right now to help heal you and get you on your feet emotionally. Fence guys are back. Stringing fence. It's so close! If they aren't done today, then they will be tomorrow. They've got some sloping to contend with. They spent all day on the front part, yesterday alone! That part includes a gate and a short run UP a hill. Glad they were fooling with it and not me! DH went in to work this AM for overtime. His engine is gone to Nevada so he's covering the back-up engine. There is a fire 2 counties south of us that they are worried about. Seems with this hot spurt of weather, things are starting to burn. It's been a VERY quiet season so far but things might start hoppin' now as it stays hot and gets dryer. We had such a wet winter. Bethany, I'm so glad you finally checked in. We are ALL struggling right now. I don't have what I need either. I was too tight and kept having to get more taken out. I am afraid to get a fill now. I have gained a few pounds but I'm trying to not go too crazy. It's so hard. I guess if it was easy, tho, we wouldn't have needed the help of surgery. Hang in there. Keep in touch with us. I'm here! Thanks for checking on me! Busy day today. On the phone a lot. I hate the phone. Funny cuz I used to LOVE the phone. Now? Not so much. We're trying to find a home for a truckbed shell that's been sitting in the backyard for the last ?? years. I honestly can't remember how long it's been sitting there. Been way too long, I know that! Anyway, I posted a "free for the taking" ad on a local site. These people contacted me Sunday about it. They wanted to come get it this AM but they had to wait and see if something else was going to play out so they'd just make one trip. Well, after waiting all morning, they let me know that they won't be here today. They'll try again tomorrow! UGH! And now they want help with it!!!! Ummm, no! I keep hurting my back, it's sore right now, I am NOT helping lift a camper shell onto a truck! I'm getting a little frustrated. It's FREE!!!! For the TAKING! Means if you want it, come get it... NOW!!! DH got called back to work today. So he only had 2 days off this week. DD doesn't like it. I mean, she's ok but she misses him. We both like it when he's home. <sigh> It'll help pay my mom back faster for the fence. Always a bright side! So. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully the camper shell will be gone!
