Congrats, Tracy! Best wishes on the job hunt. I'm sorta trying to find something that I can just do a few hours a morning a few days during the week b/c that is when DD is in preschool but that's kinda hard. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to hire me. They'd be jumping thru hoops for ME not the other way around! I'll probably just wait to look for something after she starts school next year. Kat, sure hope you feel better soon! I don't like kmart either. We have ones like you do. Suz, we didn't get to sleep in either. Dogs and kiddo do know what the time change means! Not doing much this AM. Woke up kind of headachey so sent DH and DD off to church by themselves. Football on TV and some laundry, maybe, and that's about it for my agenda. Storm coming in today. Yay! Have a great Sunday y'all!

Just got back from woodcutting. Whew! I'm whooped! Got a full load! Short bed truck w/stake sides, so the wood is up to the tippy top!! It's a good, solid 1/2 cord+. Just need a few more loads like that and we'll be all set for the winter!

Ashley, your weekend sounds like it's going to be great. Enjoy!!! And I hope you're busy, busy, busy at the store today!!! Oh and those shoes are adorable! Jenn, sounds like a great costume. Have fun! Tracy, congrats! Macy is too cute, she'll love it! Suz, glad you're on your feet again but do take it easy. Probably a good idea to stay home. Kat, I love it when DH is working on stuff. Mainly b/c that means something might get done around here! LOL!!! J/K! I shouldn't rag on him like that. He doesn't get much time to work on stuff around here so our projects take forever! And usually something pops up that becomes priority and the other stuff gets set aside again. This week it was the brakes on his truck. Working fine then suddenly weren't working! That was 2 days of that mess. Now it's getting the dog kennels buttoned up for winter. Never ends! UGH! Since DH is home and I'm sick, he took DD to her soccer game. It's been raining all night and most of this morning so she is going to be soaked by the time she gets home! I'll put her in the tub and warm her up. I was going to go but they let me sleep and I didn't get up til 10. Feel awful so I just sent them on their way without me. I've been to all of her games and poor DH will only be able to make this one since he usually works Saturdays. It's a bummer too b/c he would be way more in to it than I am. He's been playing since he was 5 - 41 years now - and watches it on TV and and and... Me? Ehhh. Tho I've been helping DD with stuff and cheering her on, if she didn't play, wouldn't bother me. Laying low this weekend. Hoping to get better! Have a great day!

Hey y'all! Debbie stop it with the bad self-talk. doesn't accomplish anything but bring you down! Great poem, Debbie, thank you! Congrats, Tracy! Suzanne, glad you checked in and are feeling "loads" better! heehee I feel like horrible. Sick again. This head cold stuff just needs to find a new home. Went to court yesterday w/my sis. She was able to get some clarification on some things as well and so next time the idiot is going to jail. He will see her driving and drive with her waving and trying to get her to pull over to talk to him. And twice now her rides to church for the kids have fallen thru at the last minute so in oder to obey court she has run them to church and dropped them off away from the door but where she can watch to make sure they are okay. Anyway, the first time, he was yelling across the parking lot trying to talk to her and moving toward her vehicle and the second time he was taking pictures. Sis didn't think she could call the police on those 2 occasions b/c she thought she was violating the 3rd party exchange part of it. Judge said she didn't care about that and re-read the entire order to dumbass again and said that Sis has every right to call the cops over that and put his butt back in jail!! So now that she has clarification, she is done and next time she's calling the cops. HE is trying to have contact with her and pushing to see what he can get away with. No more. She's not being nice anymore. DD had a party at school today. I and another mom bagged up the goodies for them. Got my hair cut then picked DD up from school. It's been 3 months and needed it badly! Feels so much better! Scooped poop. And Paige needs to get her heartworm re-test this afternoon. Then I'm DONE!!! I have NO idea what we are doing for dinner and I really don't care!!! See ya!

LOL Angela! I was going to buy a white pair of pants and a t-shirt and pin everything to those. She's going to get to wear her costume at least twice. I'm sorry you had to go thru that. How horrifying! At first we were just going to wrap her and my first thought was that as soon as she's wrapped, she's going to have to go potty. You poor baby! I bet your mom felt awful about that. I would have!!! Sorry about reminding you of an awful experience from your childhood. Kat, we do the Every 15 Minutes program here too. Some kids have been adversely traumatized by it so I have mixed feelings about it. If it saves a life tho... Angela again, LOL at your DH about the "decorations!" Ours are decorations right up til I whack em up with my knife and cook em!!! I love roasting my squash. Cut them up into chunks or large bite size pieces [they shrink... a lot!] and roast em in a 400 degree oven til you can easily pierce them with a fork. Yummm!!! I should add that you need to peel them first if you're doing bite-size. If you're just doing large, say 1/4s then you don't have to peel them. Jenn, huge buildings! So, I'm confused, you are an area site supervisor over a construction crew? Or? What a nice treat the bike ride was! I'll be a bitch forever! [in more ways than one!] I don't want my own bike! Terri, I actually stopped roaming around on this site b/c I got tired of all the BS. People get full of them selves or are not very supportive, etc. So much drama. Sorry, I have a 4 year old and a husband and 3 dogs. I've got enough drama in my real life! I am not going to deal with complete strangers and their issues. *IMPORTANT NOTE: You guys are NOT included in that statement. You all are my FRIENDS so your drama is my drama!!! Debbie, I felt like that too sometimes. Trying to help and being completely ignored. Course that's b/c someone usually started some shit so the good stuff got buried in the stinky pile. Had fun tonight. Both the slugs and the spiders went over very well. DD made a 4 faced jack-o-lantern! And each face was different! She did great! Of course DH helped her with the hard stuff but she actually did most of it. And yea, where is Suzanne?! Kat, do you have her number? Prayers that everything is okay.

Angela, how'd the squash turn out? I love squash of all kinds. Cindy, how cool that DH had dinner waiting for you!! Kat, Manda's spider sounds great! So creative! Trey, honestly Hun, it's always about you! LOL!!! Tracy, prayers being sent. Hugs, my friend. We were going to go woodcutting today but the brakes are going out on DH's truck. He's out there now, working on it. Then it's off to the grocery store. We have a party tonight at church. Potluck, then pumpkin carving, then a parade of pumpkins on the back deck all lit up. The kids all get "prizes" for the best pumpkin if different categories. The categories depend on the pumpkins! So each kid gets a goody bag. It's totally hokey but the kids all get a kick out of it. I'm going to make slugs for dinner and spiders for dessert. Slugs - lil smokie hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough and shaped. Then use food coloring to "paint" it and bake it off. Going to color green some shredded coconut to make "grass" and lay the slugs on. Spiders - melt chocolate morsels and creamy peanut butter together, add broken pretzels, scoop spoonfuls and add pretzel legs and white chocolate eyes, freeze to harden. Should be cute. Never done either before so we'll see how it goes! DD is going as Daphne from Scooby Doo. I thought she was going as a mummy but she changed her mind. I liked the mummy idea better! I had it all planned out. Hadn't bought the stuff for it yet but had it figured out. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Angela, glad you got to change your name. Kat, what a day! Yuck! People are just awful! That would be fun to get the canine sibs together! Ashley, I know you will be thrilled when the mice problem gets resolved. Jenn, a link would be great. Trey, Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Tracy, sorry about the cookie baking! Hope the family visit goes well. Hmm, forgot what I was going to say. Well, that sucks! LOL!

Morning! Watching the Pittsburg/Miami game. Go Steelers!!! Kat, how are you today? Were you able to get any sleep last night? I can imagine the hug that Rick is going to get when he finally makes it home! Tracy, I loved that you described Debbie's emoticon to her. She did a great job of picking it. I went and looked at it again. You are right - it is perfect for us!! :smile2: DH is still at work. He called about an hour ago to tell me that they were on a call. Were just finishing up on it when a civilian backed into another station's fire engine. Soooo he has to do a report, call in the Prevention guy, take statements, etc. AND b/c they are shutting down fire season tomorrow, he has to do the exit paperwork for one of his guys. He was getting out of the shower and heading to the office to do the paperwork, when they got the call! More overtime but he's missing his game! He's got the next 2 shifts off, so he'll be home for a couple of weeks. It'll be nice to have him home. I got a bug up my behind and starting re-arranging the furniture in the living room yesterday. I think I like it. Don't know how DH will feel about it. Vacuuming as I went. Now I need to dust everything. Yes, I did it backwards! LOL! I actually didn't intend to start moving the stuff, it just sort of happened. AND if DH doesn't like it, he can re-arrange it himself! LOL!! I did discover that I need to not do that by myself again, tho, knowing me, I probably will! I could hardly move last night. Whole body stoved up on me. Doing okay so far today but things do ache. Stooopid Lupus! :blushing: Beautiful, rainy day today! Enjoy yourselves no matter what you do!

W/my DH being a fireman, ANY thing can happen at ANY time! I'm so sorry that you had such a huge scare. That guy had better hope you never meet him face to face. I'd deck him!!!!! Shoot I may go find him and deck him anyway!!!! I hope you can sleep tonight after that. Hugs and best thoughts.

Ashley, have fun riding today! Envious! Suzie, great job on the 5k! Proud of you!!! Morning Jenn! DD is driving me nuts w/the damn eye drops! LOL!! Cloudy and sprinkling! WhooHoo!! Still feel icky. Trey, she didn't panic this morning! WhooHoo! She was very calm the whole time. Ashley, that is great news about DH's job. I forgot to tell you that I know what you're talking about when you say, "rock crawler" as we are in to 4 wheeling and have a '78 Jeep CJ that is our toy. It's been down a few years now, getting a new motor in it. DH doesn't have a lot of time to work on it as we also have a 30 year old house that we've been working on too! I'm sorry your trip got canceled. That sucks that the RC is taking precedence this weekend. :w00t: Tracy, congrats on your loss! I'm trying to get my head on straight but it's been hard. Suz, glad you made it to the gym. Have fun this afternoon! Jen, glad you enjoyed your time w/George. Kat, so... do you have puppy #2 yet? LOL!

Oh Trey, I am soooo sorry! I'm a cryin' right there with you. I know how much Tug meant to you and all that he did FOR you. Geez, what an awful year! Lots of good thoughts and best wishes for a much better 2011. Hugs Babe!!! Debbie, you're not stupid! Facebook is something else! I'm still getting used to it. Cindy, out of the mouths of babes, right? UGH! Glad the walk-thru went well. We were able to have an Rx called in so we didn't have to drive the hour, each way, to the city. Much relieved about that! Both eyes are totally infected. Warm, wet washcloths and the eye drops are helping. Poor baby is miserable tho. We don't have anything going for the next few days and it's supposed to rain so we'll just hunker down and hang out. She went to sleep fairly quickly tonight. I had pinkeye in both eyes in HS so I know how awful it is. I've also been able to help her a little tho b/c of that too. Telling her that in the morning, her eyes are going to be glued shut and to just wake mama and I'll get her a cloth and help her. She did great this AM but she still had one good eye. We'll see what happens in the morning with BOTH eyes glued shut. I talked about it again tonight so she knows what to expect in the morning.

HI Ashley~ I'm Michelle and live near Yosemite National Park. Literally have to drive thru my town to get to one of the gates. Married nearly 23 years to my firefighting husband, 1 DD who is 4 and three dogs. Our oldest dog was a fire station rescue. She was running and ended up at the station and eventually our house. Dakota is 10 now and has arthritic hips. She's part chow and ? and just under 40lbs. The newest additions came late winter this year. Reggie is our big boy at over 100lbs. He's mastiff/golden retriever and is beautiful as well as a big goof. He was rescued from a shelter up north of us in March. He's about 1 1/2 years old. Paige is also a fire station dog. Someone dumped her late 1 night when the temps were plummeting and we were expecting snow. She found her way to DH's station. That was a Thursday in April. By Monday we had a 3rd dog! She's a little over a year old. Very short haired, we're guessing some sort of cattle dog and maybe a little shepherd? She likes to nudge your ankles w/her nose. She's about 40lbs as well. My daughter is the bright shinning star of my life. We had infertility "issues" and eventually adopted. We were Blessed with our beautiful baby girl and brought her home from the hospital when she was 2 days old. She may not be my biological child but she is definitely mine! LOL!!! She is a lot like me and that is very scary! LOL!! We do tend to butt heads b/c of that. People think I'm joking when I say she had an attitude at 2 MONTHS old! :wink2: She knows what she wants and is determined. If I can get her to adult-hood, she's going to be a very strong woman and very sure of herself. Part of me can't wait for her to grow up to see who she is going to be but of course, every milestone makes me want to slow time down a bit. :scared2: I'm a stay at home mom. Worked for our church for 12 years and have been doing the books from home the last few of those. This is my last month with the church as I am able now to turn everything over to the new secretary. So, that me in a nutshell, I guess. Welcome to you!! Plain, speaking of our four-legged loves, how's Tug? Suz, I am so proud of your for going after a 5k! We still have way too many flies in my house for comfort! YUCK!!!! Actually one is WAY too many! LOL!! Kat, we get the grasshopper swarms here periodically and that is just awful! AND they are the same color as the carpet [light dirt color - tan] and as you walk they are just coming out of the carpet. YUCK!! Driving and the roads are covered so you get the lovely crunching sound and THEN you're also dodging squirrels b/c they're trying to eat the grasshoppers!!!!! YUCK! Waiting for a call from the doctor. Looks like DD has pink eye. Last night, copious amounts of gunk was coming out of her eye. Today, once we got it open and cleaned up, no gunk but still REALLY red and VERY swollen. Now the other eye looks like it might be starting. Her doc is on vacation this week so we're waiting for a cover doc to call us but they're in the city. Hoping they'll just call something in for her, otherwise, it's a trip down the hill. And she's going to miss the b-day party tomorrow. Poor baby started crying when I told her she couldn't go. She was SO excited!!! Hope y'all have a great day!!

Angela, sorry about the high temps. We're supposed to get rain off and on for the next week with pretty low temps on a couple of days. I love this weather! Kat, thank God for the all-clear on your dad. Great news! Debbie, there is one picture on your profile page. I like it. I'll look for you on FB. Suz, have a great walk! Cindy, reunion sounds like fun! Tracy, hope you feel better soon. Terri, glad you checked in! I'm stuck too and it's my own damn fault. Jenn, good job on your healthy eating days. Try to get some sleep! LOL! Hi Plain! As for me, I feel icky! Gonna spend the day on the couch. I've got to get at least a little better by Friday b/c DD has a b-day party to go to in the city that afternoon at Chuck E Cheese's. She is so flippin' excited. She's never been there and has been seeing the ads lately. She can't wait! I even have coupons for extra tokens. Don't know what that entails but guess we'll find out! She'll want to play everything, I'm sure! We spent the majority of the afternoon yesterday, outside in the yard. DH was working on the firewood stuff while he burned some brush from our downed tree and just generally getting some things cleaned up. Got the kennels in place. We can start using them but only during the day as they don't have a roof yet. We worry about a mtn lion getting in the kennels with no roof if they're out at night right now. They also need a roof for rain/snow. BUT I can start using them now during the day when I'm gone. Anyway, while we were out, we'd left the kitchen door open and we were going back and forth and such. Finally decided to come in and start dinner and for some reason, I looked up at the ceiling as I came in. OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!!!! :w00t: The entire ceiling, tops of the curtain valances were COVERED in flies!!!!!! I'm trying NOT to freak out! I move to go to the eating nook and that ceiling is covered as well as the chain for the light fixture. I keep moving and the entry ceiling is covered. The living room ceiling has more as well as the dining room ceiling! Our bedroom only had 1 fly. I shut that door so more wouldn't go in! I have never seen anything like it! We don't usually have a fly problem but this year the house flies and those little natty flies that you see swarming horses eyes and such have been horrible this year! I leave the doors open all the time and have NEVER seen anything like this before! I'm all "hell NO! I'm NOT cooking with all these flies over MY head and MY food!!!" Geez, creep me out! So DH and I get the house vacuum and his shop vac out and start trying to vacuum them up. Of course they fly when you do that but we set up a fan in the archway of the LR and faced it towards the front door, re-open the kitchen door and most of them left or got vacuumed up. We still have some in the house but it's manageable and thank goodness they don't have a long life expectancy. I'll [reluctantly] put up with this number as long as it's not the amount that was in here when we started!!!! <shudder> Flies to me are like ants or roaches, in some cases you can't do a whole lot about them, they'll come in whether you like it or not but they just seem so dirty to me! Yuck! We have these things called mtn roaches and they come out of the trees and in the spring, they swarm. Well, these guys are attracted to LIGHT! They get in the house and it just about sends me over the edge! They aren't regular kitchen roaches but still. UGH! We also get the ant swarms in the kitchen as the summer goes long and it gets drier and drier. They come in looking for water so we find them all over the sink or the dogs' water bowl. Ew!!! Anyway, to have the ceilings, literally, completely covered was just about beyond what I can stand!! Thank God DH was home. NOT leaving the doors open anytime soon!!!! YUCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!! So, now that I've grossed you all out... have a great day!

Hi Kat, glad to hear your mom is doing better. How scary! How's your tummy? I'm sick again. Haven't been working on my crocheting. My fingers hurt. May have to come up with some other gift ideas and just work on the other stuff when it doesn't hurt so much. About the only leaves we've got falling are the little tiny oak ones with the little spikes on them. No good for playing in them! Debbie, your friend falling must have been scary too! Yikes! Glad it's "only" a sprain but still pretty painful for her. Hope she heals well and quickly. Okay, ummm, a blind woman walking on the roof of a building!!!! LOL!! If I were you, I wouldn't be up there by myself either! MY luck and I'd fall!! I'm SUCH a klutz!! Angela, you wouldn't believe the stuff we need to do around here. And WANT to do around here. I can't imagine having TWO homes! We'd NEVER get anything done! Tracy, glad you had fun! Like all the comps! Hope the family thing works out. Jenn, how are you feeling? All this pain from your wreck worries me. Shar, how was the hog roast? Glad you got to have a lazy weekend. We all need those on occasion! Plain, I love how creepy you are! LOL!!! Suz, sounds like a wonderful walk you had with your friend! I'm sick again. Canceled going to Bunco tomorrow night. DH is at the grocery store for us and he has called no less than 6 times!! The list isn't that big either! LOL! We'll have chili tonight for dinner and shrimp/corn chowder tomorrow night. Tis the season!! It rained yesterday and is seriously looking like it again today. Love it! Fire Season is pretty much over. It's just a matter of the head honchos calling it. Next Monday or the 1st. We'll see. Have a great night!

Hey Y'all! Tracy, congrats on your loss! Jenn, congrats on passing your test! Plain, glad you had such a great weekend! Hello to everyone!!! I am sooooooo flippin' tired! Monday: worked w/new secretary at the office, soccer, visit to a friend's house to pick up a HUGE dogloo for Reggie (free!), grocery store, dinner, bath, bed. Tuesday: woodcutting, dinner, bath, bed. Wednesday: cleaned the entire house, meeting w/insurance friend, dinner, bed. Thursday: can't remember [and yes, I know that was only yesterday] Today: office again, errands, home for an hour then took a friend to the city so she could pick up her car and DD and I went to Costco and Target, dinner, then home finally about 9:30. THEN had to unload the truck and get the kiddo to bed. Geez, what a week! Tomorrow is soccer pics at the field before the game at noon. I hurt too. Night y'all!
