  1. Well said Alex! I hope it gets to who it needs to!
  2. Alex Brecher started following ErinMarie
  3. I highly suggest you check out blogs as well! There are a ton of people who write blogs about their experiences from beginning to end as well as video blogs! I have a blog myself and I started it before I was even approved for surgery! Lots of great info on these boards as well! Don't be afraid to ask a question you think someone would have already asked! Most people love giving advice and sharing their experiences!
  4. Sweet! What brand did you use? My friend is going to send me one she used but it is an older version and fairly heavy to hold and I'm sure I would prefer a lighter one
  5. I stopped smoking as soon as I went to my first lapband meeting and he said you couldn't smoke. I stopped for 6 months but started up again after a particularly painful summer. I do plan on quitting again just because its gross and I hate it (and it can cause errosion AND I plan on trying to get pregnant soon) but I will be transitioning to e-cigarettes first
  6. My favorite form of celebration is a pedicure!!
  7. Are you constipated? It could be poo in your intestines!
  8. I haven't tried kickboxing, but I can't imagine that it WOULDN'T help tone your arms and legs! Another workout you can look into is strength training! It's great for toning up and helping your core and you don't have to do stupid sit ups for your abs! I also highly recommending checking out nerdfitness.com for TONS of how-tos and work out tips! Getting a personal trainer couldn't hurt either! I would get one if I could afford it!
  9. Protein shake FTW! It's not going to be as satisfying as food, but it helps! Welcome to bandster hell, my friend! It will be over soon! Try to stay focused!
  10. I have 40 lbs to reach my goal of 130 lbs lost! After that, hubby and I will be trying for a baby
  11. Hubby was Indiana National Guard 2005-2011. He wants to finish school and go back into the army afterwards and finish out his 20!
  12. You are not alone ladies! The main reason I got my surgery was to try to get PG. I have lost 88 lbs (goal to lose 130, but at least 100 before getting PG) and I haven't been on BC since January and my periods are back to being totally abnormal. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to see a specialist before we can start trying seriously! But, I don't have insurance right now and I'm currently looking for a fulltime job, so that's out of the question for a while! I'm desperately wanting to be pregnant before I'm 30 and I have 3 years until that happens...here's hoping I can achieve that goal!
  13. Has anyone heard of this? Basically, it is abdominal massage to help cure a variety of aliments. You can read about it here: arvigotherapy.com. I was curious if anyone has done this and/or something similar to colonic massage? I wanted to look into doing it but I wasn't sure if my port would get in the way or possibly be disrupted? Thanks! Erin
  14. My fitness pal for my iphone is the best thing i've ever put on my phone! I have been using it for 230 days religiously and have lost 42 lbs since i started! it's helped me a TON and i honestly dont think I would have lost as much as I have without it!
