  1. Well that sucks! I've been trying to find like a clothing rental option so as we lose weight were not breaking the bank buying new clothes constantly, or keeping tags to return clothes.
  2. Has anyone looked into http://www.mybariatric.net/pages/clothing_swap.html "The Clothing Swap is a way for members of the community to share clothing between sizes. As you drop clothing sizes and need a new wardrobe for your next sizes down this community has the facilities set up to arrange for clothing to be donated by other members of the group. Naturally this may not always be a swap between members and may be more of a one way donation but it is our hope that the members of our forums share what they no longer need with other members who do need the items."
  3. His idea of cooking will be sausages & Mac n cheese. I think I'll murder them if I have to see or smell that right now
  4. We're kind of old school traditional couple. Where I tend to allow the stereotypical idea of woman is the kitchen cooking. I really love it. So feel really guilty when he has to cook. I make some bad ass Soups. So can't wait till I can make them to eat too (strained of course). He does cook occasionally, not sure how nutritional the meal would be for my little one. Thought about putting on a hearty chicken noodle soups and sipping the broth tonight. What's weird is I'm craving melted cheese like crazy lol. So staying away any meals that include cheese
  5. Then there's always sexy naked night. Lol. Sound awful for lost of us insecure about our bodies. Even at my heaviest we have tried to work a naked night in. Helps keep things fun and exciting, and learn to love our bodies. I've always been the shy one so I know if helps me to let go of Those fears 1-2x a month. Been together almost 4 years, he's seen me as a confident size 6 (for like 2 months lol) and a un confident size 20. And never ran away, instead proposed in June this year. Number one thing it to have fun, be spontaneous. Use the guest bath (normally only room with a bath tub/shower to fit 2 people) go for a work out and come back to shower together. If you can't make life fun together, then what's the point?
  6. Don't worry I was up too, keep in mind that Re pumping you with a TON of IV fluids, I've been home for a little less than 24 hours and have lost most of the fluid retention I put on at hospital 10-13th. Chin up, if they let you take a shower you'll feel like a new person.
  7. Take baby steps, mix it up, board games, puzzle nights, walk around the block. Once you've broken the cycle spice it up even more, walk your local zoo, try bowling, mini golf. Once you're more comfortable plan an exciting outing, take a road trip, go hiking or camping. Enjoy each other Be kids again, date each other all over
  8. Day 4, in pain, still on Clear liquids till tomorrow, so hungry. Watching tv all the commercials make me salivate, my fiancé was munching on cheese and crackers last night and today watching one of my favorite shows "ramsay's kitchen nightmares" Dear lord can't wait for next week so I can have yogurt! Hahaha even tomorrow to have a Protein drink. Trying to think of what to cook for my son and fiancé for dinner and dreading it. That was the only upside to being in the hospital, no cooking ;p
  9. I agree with the other posts so won't repeat them ill just add, be safe think things out, you don't want to end up a lifetime movie
  10. Well came home Wednesday around 4pm. I'm still wicked sore, extreme pain on my right side. Can not wait for it to go away, sons excited to have me home but bummed he can't curl up in my lap. sleeping in recliner, figured it was easier than rolling in and out of bed. Down side is our giant cat who missed me too wanting to lay on me. How's everyone doing? Still in pain? I have another jello/Popsicle clear Fluid day then can progress to fill liquid diet. I'm starving, can not wait to eat yogurt!
  11. Hey Ginny, I'm a revision surgery, had my lap band removed and sleeved Dec 10th, weight at surgery 194.5lbs
  12. Tell him to research band complications. I had the band put in April 2008, I didn't want anything permeate. I have had nothing but pain and complications since. At my highest was 230 only got down to 189 with band. Going through a break up lost 40lbs but was not band related, and gained it all back. Counting calories workin out and taking phentramine was able to lose 30lbs but would put it back on soon as I stopped diet pills. Always had chest pains from the band, had pouch dilation, band slipped, apple lodged in it ect. Was revised from band to sleeve Monday, doctor said the band had become unstitched from my stomach, was in wrong place and I had lower esophagus dilation. My mom is looking to have hers removed too from similar problems. All the doctors and nurses I've talk to at the hospital said most doctors will not even discuss band as an option anymore
  13. Hey guys I was sleeved Monday, does it hurt when you drink your fluids?
  14. Hey guys I was sleeved Monday, does it hurt when you drink your fluids?
  15. Pain on the left? I just had my revision Monday from the Lapland to sleeve. For me with my original wls the intense pain on the left for me was always me being backed up needing to make a BM, that's the area where to colon turns down. See if you can poop, it may make you feel much Better
  16. I was sleeved Monday, so today is day 3 healing. Trust me, the pain and nausea you go through, you will not even begin to kick around the idea of alcohol. I say take you pain meds and carry a champagne glass of water around. You'll be giddy from not feeling pain and can sip the water and no one will be the wiser
  17. Water tastes sickening sweet, very odd
  18. Still at hospital, low grade fever last night. Zofran has helped manage the nausea, norco for pain. Tastes bad. The worst is the every 8 hour heparin shots to keep from getting blood clots. Feels like they are injecting my arm with fire ants. Over all pain is getting better, body has released some of the air they inflate you with. Still hurts when I drink. Going very slowly. Still in the wtf did I do this for stage. They have me measure out my fluids in little 2tbs cups, looks like I'm going rounds of shots, except the have me sip on one wait 15mins and then do the next My fiancé visited last night after work and brought me flowers and a favorite board game. I was so sick and so much pain I just slept, felt awful he drove all the way to see me and all I did was sleep
  19. I'm using the app on my iPhone, top right corner is a. + sign, I click up to upload pictures.
  20. Leak test was this morning. I bawled because I was so nausea. Trying to drink dinner not digging it, in lots of pain from the built up gases. They don't give a gas ex, they want to to just walk around to work it out. Good news is am finally able to pee lol
  21. Nausea is very bad, still a lot of pain, i was bawling. Because the IV in my hand suddenly was the worst pain I had ever felt and couldn't get a nurse to come help me. Switched me off my pain pump to a liquid Vicodin type stuff which I almost threw up. Then he tried up put an IV in my forearm, that made me hysterical it hurt do bad & he couldn't get he vein right. Finally moved to my other hand. During which the nausea got better and pain meds kicked in. So for the moment feeling good.
  22. Day 2, breathing, moving, drinking, you name it i feel like I'm going to throw up
  23. Have me measuring out the food in 30ml cups
  24. asherje replied to cnunez77's topic in Food and Nutrition
Coffee is a dietetic to me. My fiancé bans it on long road trips, soon as I start drinking coffee I'm having to pee every few mins
  25. Swallow test went well, I am now cleared for the clear liquid diet. Was told to avoid cold food/ drinks because it causes stomach spasms. So I ordered the chicken broth with mrs dash Hot tea with Splenda Bottled Water
