SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS SUPPORT

Shrimp is a good snack. I have been able to eat anything except for whole milk (2% no problem) and have to be careful on anything like pastries. I have to drink at least one Protein shake a day or I can not get enough protein. That is the only thing my labs have shown me to need more of. Feeling great have gone form 317 lbs to 240. Surgery was 21 June 2016. Can not believe I have gone from 48 waist on my pants to a 36 pants. 3 or 4 XXXXL shirts to XL. I was 6/8 I was a 48in waist as well down to a 38 now and a 2 xl shirt start weight was 318 now 237.

SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS SUPPORT

I had procedure done 6/8/16. I still cannot eat very much. If I go out to eat I eat very little and take the rest home. I think I am still at less than 800 calories a day. My relationship with food has forever changed but I am much happier now. I miss being able to eat a whole piece of pizza or a entire cheeseburger but that's why I go so big in the first place..

SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS SUPPORT

Been a great experience for me. I have a 250cm common channel which helps with the malabsorption part. I take 2 multi Vitamins and 4 calciums a day. Average weight loss is about 5lbs a week so far had the procedure 6/8/16 good luck!

SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS SUPPORT

I had the loop DS in June 2016. I received all the paperwork for the traditional DS. After doing some research I know the difference between between the 2 but to answer your question I will draw on my own experience. My common channel is 250 most DS are between 100 and 150. I guess I do not mal absorb as much with a longer channel. I still take 2 multi Vitamins 4 Calcium a day. I just got my 6 week labs back and need some Vitamin D and a little Iron. My weight has dropped averaging a lb or more a day. I know there is no long term data on this surgery but I feel good about it and hope I am right that I will not have to be on such a rigiorous vitamin regimen or other bathroom issues sometimes associated with the traditional DS. As far as food goes I'm not hungry but when I am I try and get Protein first and anything else after.

My first post op weigh in..

Seems unfair but totally normal! The weight will start to fall off very shortly. I too was discouraged the first couple weeks but I still ended up losing over 35lbs in the first month. Hang in there and relax. Follow your prescribed plan and it will pay off. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Nervous

Great news keep walking it will help!
  17. The sleeve is a great tool too. It will take a lot of change in habits but if you are committed it will help. I'm happy for you that at least you can get going now but still can't believe Dr can't get DS approved by appeal..
  18. Do you have any comorbidity issues? I would have your surgeon appeal your insurance companies decision. I have a 250cm common Chanel with the DS Loop and I can tell you I may not get diarrhea but it could melt paint with the smell. I just went for my 6 week blood work to see what additional Vitamins I may need. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

16 Days PO: food intake POLL?

I measure all my food and eat 3oz at a time. If I still want something else I wait a few hours and repeat the process. I am afraid to stretch my stomach only a month in. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Nervous

Thought I had full DS turns out I had SADI with 250cc common Chanel. My doctor says he does all of them 250cc to cut down on malabsorption and diarrhea problems. I am much happier knowing I have a longer Chanel and only one cut inside Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

How much did you pay out of pocket?

Anyone that has a 20% co pay. Although your insurance will still require you to meet your deductable your surgeon may elect to waive the 20% for his or her part it does not hurt to ask. I did and it was waived. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
