  1. What everyone else said

I was a ridiculously heavy coffee drinker and finding out that I had to give it up was initially devastating....

I literally have an 8 foot coffee bar in my house with a tassimo, a keurig, a rivo, a nespresso, and a cuisanart coffee system on it.

So if anyone can relate, here is how I tackled it....

Pretty much as soon as I had my first consultation I bought some half caff coffee and replaced all but my morning cup with half caff. I stayed on this until I ran out of full caff pods....

Then I bought a bunch of Decaf and replaced all the half caff except my morning cup with decaf until I ran out of half caff pods.

6 months later and I'm 100% decaf - though if I go to Starbucks or Dunkin (which is a rarity) I'll still have a regular cup

You know - I thought I would be devastated and I'm really just not

Thinking about selling off all but two of my pots....

  2. Hi Guys. I'm kind of freaking out and making my family crazy so I figured I'd come vent to you...

I started this process in February and thought everything was going well... At the time I started insurance was requiring a three month diet before approval - but with changes to insurance they have changed it to six months. That will bring me to the end of August - best case scenario....

I teach pre-k in NYC and as I am sure you can imagine it is very active.

I am struggling now with whether to go ahead and do it with basically 0 recovery time - or put it off till next summer....

I am feeling quite desperate to be done and be able to move forward.

  3. Those are all great, valid ideas Valentina but I am either far too lazy or far too busy to start trying to change things right now.

I also wonder if it's different on the other side. I am still pre op and the post ops have a separate meeting. So I will ride it out till I see what goes on there.

Or I will just go to the meetings for the other practice, where many of the things you spoke of are already in place.

  4. I totally understand where you are coming from. I have been to a bunch of them through my practice and they are very dry. Basically just a nurse spending an hour going through the pre and post op diet progression for an hour EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Frustrating because I was looking for real support.

A friend of mine, who had the surgery with a different practice, brought me to her support group and it was awesome. Real people talking about their experiences, good and bad, and celebrating!

    Really celebrating....

I have no interest in switching practices but I might just defect for the support group....
