  1. Please please please do NOT make the mistake of comparing yourself to others. It is nothing but a recipe for misery and disaster. There is no such thing as "on track" with weight loss at only one month out. You have spent weeks healing and adapting. You may still have internal swelling. You may have experienced the Dreaded Week 3 Stall.

In the first month, "on track" is getting all your Water and Protein in, taking your Vitamins, sticking to your food phases, getting up and WALKING as much as possible, and allowing yourself to heal. It has NOTHING to do with the scale right now.

I need you to leave this on a voice mail for me so I can just listen to it over and over lol

I know this. I have been listening to the wisdom from you and a few other veterans and I know it intellectually. I can not tell you how much I appreciate you guys and the knowledge you continue to share even when sometimes it doesn't seem appreciated

I've always been a quick loser (and a horrible maintainer) and now post surgery it seems soooo slow. Just trying to remember that even slow loss is loss. And my real life mentor keeps telling me - as long as you stick to the plan, these pounds are gone for good :)

    I'll take that.

  2. I was certainly irritable on chantix when I took it... However I am easily irritated anyway so most people didn't notice lol.

All I remember about the dreams was that they were extremely bright and colorful but just that. Like going from an old black and white tv to a hd tv.

I remember chantix as being mostly a deterrent for me. Once I was on it - if I smoked a cigarette I got nauseous. Therefore I lost the desire to smoke because I didn't enjoy it anymore and hated that it made me feel sick.

A side note because I saw someone mentioned Wellbutrin. It just didn't work for me the way it was supposed to. I kept smoking right along side taking it like it was nothing. But I cleaned the f*ck out of my house. Seriously I cleaned so much that by the end of it I literally had empty closets in my tiny 1922 house. Best side effect ever. My sister calls it the Wellbutrin cleaning service

  3. I personally am a giant fan of thredUp.com I've gotten some great deals (4 pairs of jeans for 17 bucks. A winter coat for 25 etc) and everything I have bought is in excellent condition.

It's great for the buyer - not so much for the seller! I sent in 20 items - I got paid $21.00 for all of them - they then listed them all for $15-30. Not worth it - I'd much rater donate them.

That's where my laziness shows lol - I donate everything - I work with a super needy population so anything I get comes to work and goes to my families. But I love shopping with them.

However I have heard that they are not good to sell to...

  4. Looked up soma and found one about 25 minutes away...

They don't carry my cup size

They go to "G" by me...

Yup. Doesn't cut it.... 36J. At my lowest weight I went down to a 34 J but I haven't been lower than a j cup since I was about 16.

Considering a reduction once I get to goal but I hear you lose a lot of sensation with reduction and I'm not sure if that's a trade off I want to make.

  5. Day 13, Woke up down a little more than a pound. That was a good way to start the day! Had my two week appointment with the surgeon, went good. He was happy with my results, lack of pain, and how well I've been tolerating liquids and now purée. Because of my level of activity he gave the okay for me to stop the blood thinner shots. Those were getting really old. Got my paperwork to go back to work on Monday :( Won't be too bad, but I do start out having to go out of town for a week. Just have to pack purée stuff and I got a hotel room with a fridge and microwave in it, right across from the convention center where the conference will be.

Today I'm feeling pretty good, went for a walk, about an hour long. Just a nice stroll nothing real strenuous. Got in 70g of Protein, and an easy 64+ oz of liquid.

My mom and aunt came into town to visit and are staying for a couple days. It's funny they feel bad eating in front of me. I don't think they understand, I'm just not hungry, and what I do eat satisfies me AND fills me up. It is going to take some time for my family and friends to adjust to the NEW me habits.

Pretty happy with my decision to have the surgery, it for sure will be a game changer for me!

I couldn't wait to get rid of those blood thinner shots!

Congratulations - you are doing great!

  6. Did Dr. Capella do it? Whoever did it did a really nice job!! You look great!

Ramsey, NJ? I'm on Long Island but if that's the one it looks like he is worth traveling for....

I have a while before I'm ready - but did I find the right one?

it seems like a lot of people on the East Coast go to Dr. Capella in Ramsey or Dr. Michaels in Maryland. They both specialize in people who've had massive weight loss, and they both have stellar reputations. I'm considering both of them (as well as a couple others), and I live in the Midwest....

Thanks for the info.... I am literally only three weeks out from my sleeve but I see this being a definite possibility in my future. I looked up Capella today and was impressed with what I saw about him. Even though I am a Long Islander I work in the Bronx so he really wouldn't be terribly inconvenient. Good luck to you on your decision -
