    Keep food hot?

The person who runs my support group recommends getting a candle warmer and putting your plate on it while you eat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Just pick yourself up and start where you should be. I'm six weeks out too and it's tough - especially since some people are acting like I should be over this already. But you just have to keep moving along and keeping in mind what you want. We made an awfully drastic move to throw it away for some temporary gratification - and while I don't expect anyone to be perfect all the time - I do expect that we keep trying our hardest. 3. On occasion I attend a support group with one of my friends that used South Nassau (I was at Winthrop). I love those meetings - they have a totally different feel than my meetings and are a lot of fun to attend with my friend. No one has ever said anything about me being from a different practice Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Reselling clothes

I got about a $1 an item from ThredUp. Most were brand new with tags and they sold every item for a decent amount. I'll never do it again - I'd rather donate. I agree. I love buying from them but I wouldn't bother selling to them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Progress

this is such a key shift from the old way of thinking! and you put this so very well. success is moving towards a healthier relationship with appropriate servings of real food - not getting the fewest calories possible or dropping weight the fastest you can - although for all of us it is about loosing body fat. it is about seeing what your body can do movement wise (which is going to be different depending on other health issues) - and recapturing our real lives. the people who are truly successful navigate to this new normal. You ladies are so right - really on point with your outlook. I have to say that I already am feeling so remarkably better it's unbelievable. Would never have thought that such a small loss could make such a huge difference. Prior to surgery I was having almost constant ankle, knee and hip pain and now I'm away for the weekend with my husband 6 weeks post op walking miles up and down the beach. Went kayaking this morning and still went and walked the boardwalk this afternoon. This was really the whole point for me. An active life without pain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How are y'all doing August sleevers!?

Hi. I was sleeved August 22. I'm getting in my fluids and about 80 g of Protein on average. I'm between 650-800 calories. 2-2.5 oz of food 4 times a day and one protein shake. Not losing but definitely getting smaller. I'd lost 19 pounds pre op and I've lost 16 post op. Slow and steady wins the race. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I need you to leave this on a voice mail for me so I can just listen to it over and over lol I know this. I have been listening to the wisdom from you and a few other veterans and I know it intellectually. I can not tell you how much I appreciate you guys and the knowledge you continue to share even when sometimes it doesn't seem appreciated I've always been a quick loser (and a horrible maintainer) and now post surgery it seems soooo slow. Just trying to remember that even slow loss is loss. And my real life mentor keeps telling me - as long as you stick to the plan, these pounds are gone for good I'll take that. Steri strips

I was worried about the same thing - and mine were really stuck - like no loose edges even. The only thing that pinched a little was them being able to get a grip on an edge. Once they got an edge up the rest peeled off with no pain at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I just started using 8Fit. It's an app - I just use the free version but I find the workouts to be quick and you don't need anything fancy to do them. I have a gym membership but I actually am really enjoying the workouts on this app. I'm only 4 weeks out so this seems like a great way to get started Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Time for a New Topic---

It's funny - I was just talking about this with my girlfriend and though David Bowie/Squeeze was my first concert in a major venue - I vaguely recall seeing Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Smiths in the early 80s. The 80s are kind of a blur. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Time for a New Topic---

David Bowie in 87 with Squeeze at Giant Stadium. Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam opened for them. WTF? It made no sense then... And I haven't figured it out since. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I was certainly irritable on chantix when I took it... However I am easily irritated anyway so most people didn't notice lol. All I remember about the dreams was that they were extremely bright and colorful but just that. Like going from an old black and white tv to a hd tv. I remember chantix as being mostly a deterrent for me. Once I was on it - if I smoked a cigarette I got nauseous. Therefore I lost the desire to smoke because I didn't enjoy it anymore and hated that it made me feel sick. A side note because I saw someone mentioned Wellbutrin. It just didn't work for me the way it was supposed to. I kept smoking right along side taking it like it was nothing. But I cleaned the f*ck out of my house. Seriously I cleaned so much that by the end of it I literally had empty closets in my tiny 1922 house. Best side effect ever. My sister calls it the Wellbutrin cleaning service Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I smoked for 24 years. Two packs a day. Get chantix. It works. I didn't even really want to quit when I did and it still worked. I can't even imagine how tough it is to have to deal with quitting smoking on top of surgery prep - but both are worth it in the long run. Good luck - you can do this! Costs resulting from WLS

It's great for the buyer - not so much for the seller! I sent in 20 items - I got paid $21.00 for all of them - they then listed them all for $15-30. Not worth it - I'd much rater donate them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's where my laziness shows lol - I donate everything - I work with a super needy population so anything I get comes to work and goes to my families. But I love shopping with them. However I have heard that they are not good to sell to...
