    Pre-op coffee question

I start my morning - since my pre-op - with decaf coffee and premier Protein chocolate shake. I do 50/50. 11oz shake with an 11 ounce cup of decaf. Lately - to get my holiday peppermint mocha fix - I've been adding a drop of peppermint extract. But literally a drop - that sh*t is strong. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Got confused today re eating bugles ....

I just can't with people really. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a vet. I'm not even four months out yet and I struggle everyday to do right by my new normal - especially since, as they say, they did surgery on my stomach, not my brain. However no one out there can possibly think for a second that eating any kind of chip during such a drastic attempt at weight loss is advisable. This isn't joining weight watchers and going for an evening walk - this is committing to an extensive process of evaluation and undertaking major surgery. I'll support people who want to lament the mental and emotional difficulties of wls. I'll support people dealing with side effects or unexpected lifestyle changes as a result of wls. Ill support people who hit road blocks. I'll Celebrate with people who are finding joy on the journey. But if your eating the same crap that got you into this mess that soon after surgery you should just expect to get roasted. I don't really care what info you had or didn't have - some things are just common sense. Pull yourself together and get with the program. Ironically I didn't even respond to the original thread - but I saw an opportunity - as the proud owner of a meaty looking beagle for some levity and I grabbed on. Perhaps my comment about the crunch was a little too much - but then occasionally I can be a little snarkier than I plan to be. I'm not proud of that - I'll discuss it with my conscience later. I'd have seconded that sentiment back in the 80s. I don't discriminate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

I know how you feel - but keep your chin up. Every step is a step in the right direction and every pound is one you don't have to see again. I'm slow too - but at almost 4 months I couldn't be happier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

Good Morning Everyone! CW: 193.6 Started at 202 Goal is 186 It's a small step but it's still a step in the right direction. It was a tough weekend - away with 7 people who can EAT. Even though I didn't go crazy I was still higher in calories than I like to be (1200s) and lower in Protein than I like to be (60s). I did have some icky feelings about food and I didn't have the support I really needed to make the perfect choices for me - only ok ones. I'll def plan better next time. Got a great workout in Saturday though and I did have a ton of fun other than the - everyone eating all the time - thing. Have a fabulous Monday! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

This one is for the Ladies! [emoji177]

I wore front hook sports bras for two weeks - then when I went back to work switched to underwires. No way I was rockin the uniboob at work. Luckily it wasn't a problem - but I think initially the front hook thing was key because I can't put my bras on and hook them in back. I put the on backwards and scoot then around. Didn't want to scoot bra bands across my incisions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Boobs! [emoji523]

I do lose some but proportionally it's hard to tell. When I have lost in the past I generally go from a 38J to a 34G. My problem is that with breastfeeding and 4 100 pound loses in my past they are pathetically droopy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Food Comfort

Absolutely. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets are such a special part of our lives - it's tough when they die. Having to make the decision to put them down is especially difficult. Take good care of yourself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I think I'd be thrilled in a 6 and happy in an 8. Dresses can be a challenge because of my breast size though, so I'll probably have to settle at a 10. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. Lol. I never would have done it - I love my sleeve and I treat it like gold. Super compliant patient who did a ton of research right here. But I am completely squwicked out by anything remotely related to blood and guts. Even if they are relatively clean looking procedures. There is a reason that in a family where three of my siblings are nurses - I chose to teach pre k. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How many calories a day?

For my first month I was at about 600-700 calories a day and my surgeon was not happy. He wanted me to get up to about 1200 during my weight loss phase as soon as possible. At two months I was around 800-900. Now I'm a little over three months out and I hit about 1000-1100. Don't see much change on the horizon. I feel like that's about my cap - even with hitting the gym. I keep my carbs under 30 g and my Protein around 100 g and do about 90 oz of Water. That's pretty much my focus.
