    Scared...advice please

@@James Marusek Hi how long did you have diabetes? That's one of the main reasons I'm doing the RnY over the sleeve is to get my diabetes into remission, I've had it for 12 1/2 years. I also have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, arthritis, and surprise, depression ("sarcastically" I wonder why?)!

    Shoot!

@@Terri70 It will be OK, contact your Primary Care doctor and say you need to go on the diet asap. it's only been 3 months. when you have a chance gather your instructions again, write everything you need to do and when on your calendar. It's easy to be in a fog during this whole thing, don't beat yourself up

@@fatgirlsvelte I'm going thru Kaiser Richmond in SF east bay, my binder is very similar to yours. Tons of info and the support groups are great, you learn a lot. Congrats on starting your journey, it will go by fast. Mine was not 6 months it was just over 3 months, my first class with the weigh in and the intro's and nutritionist starting us on the pre-op diet was March 23, my surgery is next Wednesday July 13

@@russm that's awesome! Glad you are doing well. I got my meds in liquid form, and one anti nausea is a patch I put behind my ear. Maybe they can change your meds to liquid?

    JULY surgery dates!

I'm in California, surgery is July 13, starting to get nervous
  12. Hi all, I'm 52, will be 53 in October. My RNY surgery date is July 13, starting to get nervous. I have diabetes and high blood pressure, sleep apnea and arthritis. I'm really hoping my diabetes will go into remission, and I'm looking forward to not having to sleep with my CPAP machine, hate it My arthritis is already better from not having hardly any sugar on my pre-op diet, yea!

Didn't follow 2 week liquid diet:(

@@d0minicanmama1 It's not too late, you have 4 days, Trader Jo's has inexpensive high Protein shakes called Pure Protein, they have no sugar and 35 grms of protein, try drinking those for the remaining 4 days and eating lean protein and a little veggi's, do what you can. If the surgeon gets in there and see's your liver is fatty they will cancel the surgery and you will have to start over Good luck!

Surgery date July 12th. Anyone else?

Mine is July 13, been on the pre -op diet since march 29, real food, low carb, high protein, no sugar, no caffeine, no bubbles
  17. That's crazy extreme weather, I think anyone would faint out there working in that heat. I also have a problem being dehydrated even though I drink tons, I only drink water with electrolytes, plain water doesn't do it for me. I work about being dehydrated after surgery because I won't be able to drink as much. Definitely drink electrolytes and take breaks!

7 days Post Op! Result: no Energy

@@curlysue86 Hi, they told me I would be tired later but not right after my surgery. Take your pain meds if needed. Are you walking? It's very important to get rid of all the gas in your body, also make sure you get enough water, sip all day. Make sure you are taking your multi vitamin, iron and b12. Hope you feel better soon.

    Pre-op fears

@@Nymea I understand about the diabetes, I've had it for 12+ years and my main fear is that I'll still have to do insulin after my surgery when I'm thinner. The main reason I chose the RNY surgery is because of the 85% chance I won't have diabetes anymore. I also have sleep apnea which I hope will go away too since I didn't have it when I was thinner. You won't have to worry about vomiting, you'll be spitting up bubbles like a baby now, that's the way you will vomit, nothing like before

@@Elvenprincess wow, i don't think I would be able to do my dog walking with that diet for two weeks! If I sat at a desk all day maybe. They also want us to start our special bariatric vitamins one month before surgery, I got mine from Celebrate, they are tolerable. I will try to take 2 weeks off work, I am self employed and have a friend walking my charges. I think I will fill out the disability application
