I had one but didn't have acid reflux. Mine manifested more with making it difficult to eat or drink sometimes. I think they are common.

Go and have fun. We have to learn to still live and enjoy life.

My surgeon has a reduced rate for sleeve surgery if they have a hiatal hernia. Insurance covers the hernia repair and most surgical costs.

Are they not supporting your surgery? What about your best friend? I had sleeve surgery and live by myself and after one night in hospital I was fine to take care of myself.
If you do end up with a caregiver, it might be worth it to get 2 rooms that join so you can have your privacy and someone there if you need them.

My surgeon said it is ok to have tiny sips to wet your mouth. Just don't drink as usual right after eating.

It will get better everyday.

Amber alert! (This is the only time that an amber alert is funny)A friend of mine who is a mentor to me uses children to measure my weightloss. For example, as of today, I have lost an 11 yr old girl. Puts things in perspective for me. I am not going to lift bags of sand! :-)
OMG. You made me laugh so much. However, I am going to rethink my measurement!

Even though you are counting the Protein based liquids towards liquids, your body still needs Water to prevent dehydration. That may account for light headedness. As for being full your stomach is healing and the nerves can't give you an accurate reading for fullness. For some, the swelling helps identify it.

I was on purees at 2 weeks and that would be hard in vegas. Mushies may be too so as long as you take Protein to consume as liquid, you can get what you need. As mentioned, someone else needs to carry your luggage, no alcohol, and needing rest, it would be doable as long as your recovery goes well. I had no nausea, have not thrown up at all in 6 mths, and was off pain meds after 2 days. I love Vegas and go once or twice a year. Best part is that you would be walking a lot.

I don't think it hurts to shop around to find the right surgeon for you. Then you can compare programs and style. However, dont choose someone you dont like just to move timeline up. Also, find out your insurance requirements now so there are no surprises as you get started. I called my insurance company and they provided mine in writing.

I am still shopping in my closet and that is fun too!

Sorry you felt that. Glad you are feeling better.

Congratulations. You have taken the first big step! Follow your plan and don't get discouraged when/if a stall hits. Your body is healing and adjusting so let it do its thing. You are doing great and your positive attitude will carry you a long way.

Mine said that I had to take Bariatric Vitamins and calcium citrate 1500 a day - in 3 doses (500 each) a day. The total of the vitamins and Calcium would be over $200every 2-3 months!

It will eventually boil down to what your body needs as supplements. I have not had any issues with food and I have my Protein first, per my plan. I would compare labels of nutritional supplements with bariatric vitamins and address any differences. I have always had strong bones and at age 59, don't need to supplement with calcium evidently, but I did take it for 5 mths.

Here is where doctors differ again. I take Nature's Way Alive for women and they are gummies. On my surgeons list are also to take Calcium, B12, and a b100 complex. After my recent bloodwork, doctor said I could stop the calcium and could cut back on b12. It doesn't help our bodies to take supplements it doesn't need.
Oh, and I get my Vitamins and supplements from Bed Bath and Beyond using all those discount coupons they send out. It probably cost me less than $10 a month.

Did your surgeon give you a script for anti nausea meds? If not, call and ask for one. You need to be able to sip Water.< /p>
Chili? ( one week post-op)

What do you mean just mix up the pack? If you want chili flavor, add chili powder to a strained Soup. If you mean mix chili pack with ground beef, no, it is not a full liquid.
