  1. I love BCBS! Got my approval today to get this dreadful sleeve converted to bypass. Oct 26 is my tentative date!

I have bile backing up into my esophagus and I am on fire constantly...and all the acid makes me feel like I have constant hunger. I am ready for relief.

  2. Waiting for insurance approval for revision of my sleeve to gastric bypass. Will be so relieved to get this done!

Thank you! It should happen soon, but apparently the lady that handles these things is on vacation with no back-up. Just gotta keep busy this week and maybe next week things will move along. BCBS is crazy fast and should approve it pretty soon.

  3. I found out just now that I have zero tolerance for food that doesn't taste good. Used to be if something was "eh" I would go ahead and eat it. Now, I have a certain amount of sleeve space, and I'm not giving it up for food that isn't pretty darned good.

I absolutely agree! I don't waste space on anything that I don't truly enjoy.

  4. Upper GI this morning for reflux. Surgeon wants to revise my sleeve to bypass.

They found a hernia. Looks like they may have to revise to bypass.

  5. This damned STALL. I feel like this weight is never going to come off!! I can't cut any more calories, I can't work out any harder...maybe my destiny is to just be fat. My body refuses to cooperate with this process. I have never been so discouraged in all my life. This is not working.

@Caribear it's been about 10 days...@Valentina than you so much for your kind words!

  6. Instead of asking a question and getting mad at the answers, wouldn't it be best just state what you intend to do loud and proud? Your body, your choice!

Well, it's full of irony...usually when people post that stupid sh*t, they aren't really going to hear anything that challenges their comfort. The hard path is never the choice that anyone wants to believe in. They think if they can find one person to agree with them or tell them it's okay, then it will all work out great and they will have gotten away with it...so exhausting.

  7. How is it that a newbie can post in a veteran's forum, but I can't?

Thanks for the info! This was a new member with very few posts...maybe in their profile somewhere it states that they are at least 18 months out...I'd go back and look but it's not a huge deal. I was just curious.

  8. Biting my tongue before I get myself kicked off of BP for being "mean"! Attention seeking behavior drives me mad!

I didn't mean for that to come off as rude as it did. Please excuse my tone. No harm intended.

Then don't let it get to you. A support group type message board environment is the exact platform for attention-seeking behavior. Make no mistake that until you have your surgery, you cannot imagine some of the things you will go through. Some of these people are under stress they've never encountered, with hormones raging and God knows what else. So don't tell me that you have empathy for them. What you have is SYMPATHY. I admire your passion for helping others, so don't let it get you down. If you let it get to you, they have accomplished exactly what you are venting about. Take care. My best to you.

I am finding that one has to have a thick skin to function in these environments. You shouldn't take it personally when someone chooses to act irresponsibly. You might be able to empathize a bit better once you've been there yourself. Otherwise, don't take it upon yourself to save anyone.

  11. Does anyone know about the vitamin patches, are they irritating?

      justhere4theshow

@Cervidae: I am so glad to hear from someone that has used them and gotten their boodwork back with no deficiencies. Thanks so much for the info!

Do some research; I have heard they don't work. I have used the melatonin patches and they work, but I wouldn't trust the vitamins to absorb well.

I'm right behind you...I have barely signed up and I'm sick of the pissy comebacks...usually from someone who hasn't even had surgery. I find that annoying.

  15. Anyone else had annoying painful hiccups days after surgery

    1. justhere4theshow

      justhere4theshow

YES! But it got better after a few days. I haven't had the hiccups much since week 3.
