Dar Williams - It's Alright
It's a sad and a strange thing
But it's time and I am changing
Into something good or bad, well, that's your guess
I'm my own sovereign nation
Dedicated to a transformation
Marching on with this target on my chest

I went to my favorite taco restaurant and had my favorite tacos (with jalapeño bacon) and margaritas.

Interesting. I guess none of our plans have hurt us yet. I'm enjoying the quick pace of mine.Mine is 2 weeks of at least 32 ounces of clear liquids and 32 ounces of full liquids plus Vitamins. Then I move on to real food. No soft/pureed foods at all.

I'm on clear liquids and I am to aim for 32 oz of skim milk for weeks 1 and 2. Weeks 3 & 4 will be full liquids. This is what my surgeon has his sleeve patients do. They are more concerned with hydration and not doing too much too soon I guess, with the stomach being swollen and still healing. I was sleeved a week ago today and have lost 16 lbs since.
We had surgery the same day, and I've lost about 11 pounds from my surgery day weight. I'm going to try to abide by my guidelines, but if I feel uncomfortable I'll be back there with you. I've been drinking these Protein shakes to get them down, but I'm so sick of them. The compression band is an excellent idea. Where did you get yours?

In my program everyone is given the same guidelines in their books, but when you talk one on one, they tailor what you are eating for your medical needs and surgery. So some people with the sleeve get stuck with the same dietary restrictions as someone who had bypass.
That makes sense. In my pre op class they separated the advice for bypass and sleeve, but put it in parallel on the same handout.. The bypass folks are on purees this week and there is a big side note for them not to eat the wheat thins.

I've been looking around the forums at other sleevers' post op diet progressions, and mine seems unique. I was advised to get more Protein in the first week than most people were (about 90g, then drop to 60g the seconds week.) I was on full liquids as soon as I left the hospital. I'm supposed to be on soft foods (no purees) starting the second week, which would mean I'd start those either later today or tomorrow. My diet even has Wheat Thins under soft foods. Those make me nervous, so I plan to leave those for later. I have an extremely reputable surgeon, so I trust his entire team. I just think the diet differences are pretty wide. I'm supposed to be on soft foods when some people are still on Clear Liquids.
Did anyone have a similar diet progression for VSG?

Walking is the best thing you can do. That is the advice I received from my bariatric team.

I had the sore throat after surgery as well. The nurse had to stop me from drinking too fast. Everything else felt like not much had happened. I didn't have any reflux or anything. I'm supposed to get over 90 grams of Protein a day in the first week, so I drink 3 Bariatric Advantage shakes a day. That has roughly 90 grams. I tried the nectar shakes on the first day and couldn't choke enough of them down. I was discharged about a half hour after they woke me up from surgery, so I was only there for a few hours total. I barely had any discomfort or anything, since I stayed on top of the pain meds. Overall the only struggle is making myself drink these shakes.

There are shops on etsy that will turn your old t shirts into a quilt. I am doing this with my 40+ t shirts when they are too large.

I'm getting my sleeve surgery June 17th in Atlanta, GA. My pre operation appointment is tomorrow. I've been lurking for a month for so, so I thought I would go ahead and join and introduce myself.
