    Dilemma

Thank you all for your input!
  2. Did u go through this? How do u feel. Are you able to eat? I'm so scared of hairloss too... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App No, I haven't but I have seen and talked to a lot of people who has gone through it. When I went to my check up at my bariatric center, I spoke to one girl who said she cried every day since her revision, poor thing . Yeah, I'm worried about hairloss too. I didn't go through it with my band because the weightloss wasn't as drastic, a normal 2-3 lbs a week or slower... So I'm a little worried this time around because our calories are sooo much lower.I have only loss 15 pounds in six weeks so my weightloss is not to drastic but they said it would happen because of the stomach hormones loss. Yea I cry alot and I don't know what to do to make it better. How far was the girl in the group post op? I don't know why this is so hard. Thanks for listening Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App No problem at all. Anytime. I didn't know about the hormones and hair, I only knew about the Vitamin deficiency and too fast weight loss by being anorexic when I was young. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App Neon anorexia?? Yea they say at 2 yrs a person with a sleeve should be able to get enough Vitamins through there food. Yea I try really hard with vitamins .. I even take extra Biotin for my hair 20,000 mcg a day plus b12 plus zinc.. zinc is a hair vitamin... but u have to be careful if u get to much u could get sick. I even bought nioxion shampoos to help with the loss. I am blonde and don't have tons of hair so who knows how much I will have.. they say it starts at 3 to 4 months. I myself am already shedding a little more than normal.. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App Neon was because my stupid autocorrect, which is never correct lol. I edited it... Hehe I'm on biotin too and you're right, too much is often not a good thing. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App I had bulimia for years.. I think I'm scared to because I want another baby and im worried how much this is all taking a toll on my body with my first son I had gestational diabetes and other things so I wanted to be healthy Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App I met a lot of bulemics at OA meetings back in the day. After my anorexia, I swapped seats on the titanic and gained 100 lbs. So I still value OA meetings online from time to time since I have a tendency to switch back and forth. Well, I think you did the right thing. Being overweight is just too risky for us. I'm happy that at least you don't have any serious issues with your sleeve. The risk factors are so low now since it's become a common surgery, thank goodness. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App Where do you find the Overeaters Anonymous online meetings?
  3. Great advice. It goes with all WLS. Head hunger is the little red devil whispering in my ear.

What is on your Trader Joe's Shopping List?

I like their mini Cookies. Yeah, I'm evil lol. I mainly go for the fruits and vegetables if it's a good Trader Joes. Depends on the neighborhood sometimes. The one in Garden City, NY is a good one and close to me. Others are not so good.
  5. I heard, and I may be wrong, sleeve is almost as effective as the bypass and far more safe which is why sleeve is the preferred surgery. If I give up my band, which I'm still attached to in more ways than one lol, I'd go sleeve.
  6. Should start with 3 since 4 mls is too much, then do small 0.2ml increments till you hit your green zone.

    genepro vs isopure

After that investigation/class action I think Glabia bought Isopure.
  8. Yes, but I've been having problems off and on with a dilated pouch. They think it's time for me to get the sleeve. Common? Being unfilled I can't stay at goal weight no matter what. If they just remove any liquid, I eat like a horse and I put on weight in a hurry. Keep me posted how it goes with your journey through sleeve land. I've done lots of the pre-op testing but still haven't bit the bullet yet. Thanks for the share. You almost got me convinced lol.
  9. I hit my five-a-day every day and more. I put them in smoothies so I can take more in.
  10. The person who asked about the Taco was never rude nor mad at you. She asked because she wanted to know. People here who ask for help feel vulnerable as it is, and when someone comes off judgmental, it doesn't help.
  11. I just go by BMI. Those weight charts can be ridiculous.

    First fill

I had a very strict doctor, and like yours, he put in a small amount in my band the first time. I had zero restriction. After a few fills, I was able to reach my green zone. Have patience.

    Not losing weight

How many calories/carbs are you eating every day? I stick around 1300 calories or so, carbs lower than 100, balanced diet.
  14. I saw the Patches in the store here. Thinking of getting them myself.
  15. One thing I noticed reading through many threads, the people who have hit goal weight and have been around for a long time, are generally the most kind and helpful. In every forum, there will always be those who crave to be "popular" and part of the "in" crowd. I didn't care for them in high school, and I don't care for them now. Their humor is almost always directed to hurting someone or being condescending. As far as the tacos question, there are some programs that allow incorporating normal foods at 21 days. Corn isn't inherently bad, and one can get taco shells that are not fried. The problem is that the Protein first rule should be the first and more important rule in all your meals. It is something to keep in mind as you progress through your journey.

Slower weight loss second time around?

Each time I think I'm okay to keep the band for now. I read these forums and change my mind again.

    6 month diet requirement

No diet but I have to got to nutrition classes.
  18. My coworker had the band like I do and was revised. He was back to work within a week. lol Must have been easy for him too.

    Lap band port pain

Went through the EGD recently. The worst part of it for me was sitting in the lounge by all the free muffins, donuts with an empty stomach for 3 hours while waiting to be called in.

    Smoking

Every day smoker, 1 pack a day, and it took about 11 days not smoking to clear the urine test. The doctors understand how hard it is, and are patient on you to pass it.
  21. I heard that there's some controversy behind GENEPRO. Check out MelanieSlicedThinner on YouTube if you're interested. Sent from my SPH-D710VMUB using the BariatricPal App I'm a huge fan of GenePro. I'll definitely check that out. Thanks.
  22. Read carefully. I commended some. I just don't get the condescending tone of some of these people on this thread. They know who they are which is why they keep coming back to get the last word.
  23. People who ask questions, get real answers, get angry... Sigh. The point is to answer the question(s) they ask. Real answers are great as long as they are the answer to their question. Everything else is irrelevant. Get it?
  24. Negative people. People who like to judge. People who think they know it all. Sigh.
