DeeCasso got a reaction from HeXeD in Researching Doctors
I had my surgery in Juarez on July 29th. I agree, Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Elmo and the doctors were GREAT!! However, I felt differently about the hospital. I don't know if it's the language barrier or that hospitals operate differently in Mexico or what the problem was for me, but being at Angeles was very difficult for me. I had to ask many, many, many times if I wanted or needed something. A nurse told me in Spanish "Sorry, I don't speak English"...I told her...Esta' bien...No hablo Espanol! She had a major attitude when she said it. I felt I had to beg for ice (it took hours to get). The nurse refused to give me an anti-emetic and I had to hit the call button when I was yaking in the bathroom. Did you go with your wife? I wouldn't suggest someone going alone like I did. I give the hospital D-.....just my experience.
No comment on Be-Lite Weight. I hope your wife does well.

DeeCasso got a reaction from anniebanana in OK, not trying to be mean, but there actually are stupid questions lol
Before I was sleeved, I couldn't imagine why people would eat things like mac and cheese after going through this process. The truth is (and what people don't talk much about) is that after the surgery, you are STILL hungry. You will still crave foods. I thought I was a loser and losing my mind when I was starving. A sleeved stomach is still a stomach...just smaller. And all those foods will still sound delicious. Eating them, on the other hand, is a different story. One in the mouth...not that appealing.

When people add a clarifier like" I don't want to be mean, but"...or "I don't want to hurt your feelings, BUT" This statement says "I know I'm about to be..whatever" Apologizing before hand does not make it OK. I'm not telling you this to anger you, but to educate you. I'm sure you weren't aware of this common phrase. No ill intent implied. I used to say this ALL the time until someone told me.

I don't remember how long (maybe a few days).
Just keep walking. You may also want to try a little easy stretching. Try raising your hands over your head. I had some shoulder pain with mine and a heating pad seemed to help.
    It gets better.

People should be able to ask whatever the heck they want without judgement from the very people that are supposed to be their support system. If this person wants a PB and J like someone said earlier you could say not your best choice right now but have you thought about something like a PB&J Protein shake or PB&J yogurt but to flat out say someone is "stupid" for asking a question....yes i stand by my response totally uncalled for and yes bully behavior... We are all on this journey together and it is not an easy journey for anyone so putting someone down for asking a question I think is totally uncalled for!! Have a little compassion gets you so much further in life then putting people down!!

@@blueeyez Wow, well ok. I guess I am a bully for finding the question ridiculous. I guess I was a bully when I laughed when my son asked if I got him a sea otter on a grocery shopping trip and also laughed when my mother in law asked if we'd be having kids soon a week into the marriage. Yep, that's me. Just a real meanie!

I think it's hard after decades of giving in to our cravings to know you can't have your basic comfort foods. Unfortunately surgery doesn't take away the mental urges to eat them. I'm 9 days post op and with my limited diet right now I am craving the taste of so much!
I will continue to "ride the crave wave" and not give in but that doesn't make it easy.

DeeCasso reacted to Mountaingal in Tummy tuck BEFORE WLS?
My friend had a TT 7-8 yrs before WLS. It did not cause any complications and actually seems to have helped her not have so much loose skin as many of us do. Her tummy was far tighter before surgery than most of us are.

I had a TT in 2002. It was a great success. Due to illness, I gained weight. So far, my tummy is shrinking and it looks like the loose skin will be minimal and the TT will regain it's integrity. Hope that helps.

DeeCasso got a reaction from VSGAnn2014 in Anyone dreading being alone in hospital?
I know this may sound odd, but women have a hard time giving themselves permission. May I as kindly as I can... say please take this time to care for yourself. I know you will miss your boys and you may think you'll be miserable, but you won't be. I had to go into the hospital for three days and my son stayed with my husband. The reason being my older son was actually traumatized by seeing me in the hospital. He would get VERY anxious if I got sick. Take a photo of them with you, call them...facetime. Take this time to care for yourself.
