I'm finally below 300#s for the first time in 4 or 5 years that post on Facebook got a response of 200 out of 750 friends... but my eating habits are starting to change, and not for the better. I really need to stay focused on my diet and NOT DRINK after I eat, that habit is the hardest of them all.
Regarding my trip to Chile, everything went well. Just had a few times when I was *really* hungry I'd eat, only to have it come back up within minutes... so I'm learning to force myself to eat even when not hungry so I don't get into a splurge or devour-everything-in-sight mentality.
Soon I'll need to start exercising more regularly once my travel schedule slows down, up in Nashville for work right now...
only downside to surgery is the gas... anyone have any ideas why I can't stop sounding like a fog horn??

Just back from my 2 week doctor visit -- for some reason I've had issues keeping food down in the morning (thankfully when it comes up its "clean" and quick). They drained about 50 ml of Fluid from near my wound and discovered about 3-4 ML of air in my lap band. I really really hate needles, so seeing how they fill/update my port is going to be a lil stressful for me.
I've found out that when I cheat on the liquid diet what happens. I've discovered some foods are OK, and others - well, they come back up just as quickly as they went down. So far, my comfort foods are the Outshine frozen treats, Jello, Publix lemonade, and rice chips. For food, I've been doing the Tomato basil Soup from costco and trying NOT to put croutons in it. Drinking has been the G2 stuff, until I noticed that it has a genetic modification warning on it. My naturopath flipped out when I told her my Bariatric surgeon's office recommended G2, Crystal light, etc. She'd rather I drink Water with a fruit infuser.< /p>
I'm also taking Probiotics to help my shits -- today was the first day of "clean" poop... so they are working.
I'm back to my 'traveling' this Wednesday - thankfully its only a 90 minute flight. Saturday will be my true test as I fly from Tampa to Santiago, Chile - thankfully with a connection in Panama.

Sean - I followed a nearly liquid diet with some limited cheating and dropped almost 15 #s in two weeks before my surgery. Heck, the day before the surgery I broke every rule and did a pizza buffet with a friend (but severely limited what I ate).. I was afraid that was going to cost me the surgery.
It was hard but I cut out all the fun foods - soda, pizza, Panda Express, Pasta, Soups, BEER, alcohol, and marijuana... and even when I traveled, I would still go to Panda Express, but get teriyaki chicken with NO sauce with white rice and drink Water.
My doctor had a *very* strict diet, as I guess they get a high failure rate of people who can't lose the weight. But a lot of Water, fruits & veggies did the trick for me.

I'm not a sleever but got the lap band on Monday. I was really nervous about it, but after spending the weekend at Tidal Wave in Orlando (Gay Days Bear Group) my mind was made up. It was really hard to talk with the chubs who were 400+ pounds and they didn't have one worry in the world about diabetes, heart diseases, or heart attacks. Watching what people ate (and how) made me realize that being a bear (and part of the community - to a point) may have had some effect on my own weight loss.
I'm at 345 now (well pre surgery) and hope to get down to 250, although I'm more upset they shaved my chest fur.. #boo!

I just assumed once we stick it in, we're gay (or get stuck in... *looks around for moderators*)

I second Probiotics... mine work wonders. Now I actually enjoy pooping.
    ok, that sounded weird.
then again, I'm also thrilled I can actually wipe my own butt now with all the weight loss...

HMSA Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawai'i approved mine in about 2 weeks after everything was submitted. No supervised diet for the lap band.
