    June surgery!

Oh gosh! My surgeon's office won't be submitting to my insurance until the first part of June. I soooooo hope and pray I get a surgery date in June. My insurance rolls over for the new year on July 1. That means I'll have to fork over the co-pay and deductible if I don't. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have been struggling for the past 6 months to quit smoking so that I can get my bypass in June. Well I'm here today to tell you.... I'm through! I quit! I'm done with those nasty little things. I have to much riding on this. I'm not going to fail this time. As hard as it's been in the past to quit for some reason I just sat them down and said I quit. I know it's not going to be easy. It's going to be hard for sure, but I'm a stubborn woman! I've GOT this. My goal from here on until my surgery is to get back on Saxenda and lose the 10 lbs I need to for the clinic. I have an appt today with the PA, and I'm really hoping they don't test me for nicotine since it's still in me right now. I'm through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I agree. And I'm through with playing games!

    Virginia?!?

I'm in Christiansburg. Hi neighbor! Who is your surgeon? I'm assuming you're going to Roanoke hospital?

    Anyone in VA?

I'm in Christiansburg and my surgeon is Dr. Salzberg as well. Looking at June surgery. That's what I'm hoping for at least. That's if all things fall into place. How are you doing? Do you have a date yet?

    June surgery!

June is when I'm hoping it happens for me as well. Still have just a few more things to do, but quitting smoking, the NUT appt and the psych are the main ones still to do. Quitting smoking has been HARD!!!!!!!
  8. Surgery will hopefully be in June, but I'm struggling to quit smoking. Gonna try cold turkey tomorrow. I've tried Chantix, patches, gum, Wellbutrin, and everything else including hypnosis. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. So just found out that I will have my last of 12 months appt (phone call) with my insurance on May 1st. All of my documents can be sent in for approval after that. So I'm hoping to have my surgery by the end of May!!!!! Soooooo can't wait! It's killing me! lol
  10. I know that I'll need to ask my surgeon when I see him, but thought I would see what all of you say. Do most surgeons approve FMLA and Short-term disability?
  11. I had my follow-up for the psych eval and it went well. He said I'm okay but wants me to start counseling to work on my stress eating. To be honest I didn't realize that's what I did! Talking to him today and telling him about the past, well it really hit me. The good thing is, the counselor that specializes in eating disorders that I was seeing, I can start going to her again. I stopped because she didn't take me reimbursable card. BUT now that my Out-of-Pocket has been met I won't have a fee. YAY! I have a follow-up visit with the Psych on December 23rd. I'm really starting to get more and more appts that I have to take off work for. I'm debating on telling my main boss the reason I'm having so many doctors appt's is because I am preparing for surgery in April or May. I don't want to tell him what kind of surgery though so I'm not really sure how I'm going to approach him. Any ideas? Also, should I go ahead and file for FMLA that will protect my job during all this? Do you know?
  12. Even though I have about 6-7 mos to go to surgery? Can I do it so soon?
  13. In my 7th month (of 12) for insurance. Just did my abdominal ultrasound and chest xray yesterday. Waiting on the results. I go on the 18th for my second sleep study (first with CPAP). I agree with @@hotmamma1979 about it being hard going to all these appts and work fulltime. Super hard.
  14. Going Monday night to do my sleep study. Very anxious about it. I'm afraid I won't sleep since they only want you to sleep on your back. I'm a side sleeper. I've tried every night for the last week to do it and just can't. I don't know what to do. Will they give me meds to help me sleep? I'm scared.
  15. So my results from my sleep study shows that I have mild obstructive sleep apnea. During REM sleep, I quit breathing 37 times in an hour. My oxygen went down several times to ~77%. Yikes! Next step is to do another study but with the CPAP this time and that's set for Oct. 18th. It's not as bad as some but still bad. Now I have to deal with the fact that I'm a mouth breather and moderately claustrophobic. They said they made a note in my chart about that.
  16. How long did it take to get the results from your sleep study?
  17. So it went well. I slept and woke up every hour and a half or so. Now the wait for the results. UGH
  18. So called and they are getting me some Ambien. Hope it works.
  19. Going Monday night for my sleep study. Then 3 appts (Psych, Nut, PA) on the 21st. After that I don't know what their plan is.

  22. Yeah. My insurance requires a 12 month "health education program" that consists of a 30 minute phone call once a month. My surgeon only requires his program for 6 months. I start that on Sept 21. Still have a long way to go.
  23. Have you tried unflavored Genepro? I heard it's awesome! You can put it in anything and you can get it off Amazon.
