  1. Once I got to the description of the device, I had to stop reading. It would be so much simpler to take the unwanted portion of food and, rather than ingesting it so that a little gadget will spit it out, simply toss it into the trash or back into the refrigerator. This Aspire thingie has less charm that a penny gum ball machine.

On a slightly serious side, it sounds as though it isn't being considered [openly] for people who have had surgery: "The AspireAssist procedure is indicated for adults with a BMI of 35 to 55 who have not succeeded with more conservative therapies."

It may well sell like wildfire. I wonder what horror stories will come out a couple of years along.

It sounds like a horror story

  3. Because of the poor shape my body has been in for at least the past 6 years, when I walk more than a tenth of a mile my back begins to scream at me...

I've replaced shoes and that helps a little...I've tried just stopping and resting but when it happens the first time I know that it will happen at shorter and shorter intervals.

I need to know what I can do to strengthen those back muscles?

I to am asking the same questions. Will be following this thread.

  4. Don't make it only about weight, follow your plan and treat your stomach like it's a newborn. Get your Protein in, even if you don't think you can, find a way. It's easier for me if I drink it. Isopure, or the equivalent, has 40 grams of Protein in each bottle. That's half the amount right there! Doesn't taste bad either. I like to dilute it a little with Water coz it's sweetish tasting. But there are zero carbs. The other go to us called Muscle Milk. It's dairy-free. 25 grams of protein, 0 sugar. Good luck and keep us posted! I'm only 5 weeks out.

Good things come to good people.

    Love muscle milk

  5. Okay, I'm more than meeting my Protein and Fluid requirements and will be starting to transition off the soft food stage. I know to avoid bread, Pasta, and other high carb foods. But, I'm curious about alternatives. What's your take on things like low carb tortillas? Is low carb Pasta a thing? What's your favorite noodle alternative? And do you think it's a slippery slope, so it's just best to avoid these products?

  7. @@alysia.rush

Are you serious? I've been trying to get my doctor to work with me in getting me the gastric sleeve at UW. And they keep emailing me either saying amerigroup won't cover it or it's not medically necessary. I have the right bmi to have surgery and have pcos. So in my mind I think they didn't actually call. I really want to switch doctors so bad. I've been trying to get the sleeve and been getting knocked down each time. I wish I could send you the screen shots from my doctors office. My only hope is probably save and go to Mexico....

I am feeling the same way. Maybe we will meet in Mexico. did I say that?

  9. Jess it's gonna get better. Understand that when you go to Mexico for surgery you are pretty much on your own post op. No support, no guidelines - nothing. It's a hard road to go down.

I thought WLS would 'cure the problem'. Haha! The joke was on me. Obesity was a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

Many people turn to drugs or alcohol post op because of this very thing. In doing so you simply trade one form of self destruction for another and if you had issues with drugs before I can only imagine how hard it is to just say no.

But you have to, you will, and you will get through this. That's why we call it Going Through Hell - because you don't stay there. You come out on the other side. Otherwise we'd call it Gone To Hell and Not Coming Back.

You have a good life ahead of you and this period of time is what's required to get there. You can't skip this part. You can do this girl.....

Your such a nice person the every one should be. to nice people.

  10. BINGO! I've actually cut way down on my time spent here for exactly this reason. I'm a lurker but had come to rely on the information I found here. Thank goodness I discovered another group where there is only love and support. It's a support page, not a belittle page.

    Love wins.

  12. Why are the NBA Finals and the NHL Finals at the same time? Both seasons are super long, couldn't they arrange them over different weeks? Why I'm at it, why are the NBA playoffs (not finals) only on cable and not regular TV? At least the finals are on a non-cable station (and start today, Go Warriors!).

Lastly, why did ESPN keep using our ex-coach (who we fired) to be the game announcer so he could make digs at us?

    Did I say go Warriors?!!!

WARRIORS!!! In it to win it strength in numbers. Warriors

  13. I believe this app is called bariatric pal right! Not bariatric B.... A little kindness can go a long way

just saying not that hard to be nice & informative at the same time

You've stumbled upon a rant thread in a rant forum. This is hardly the place to be singling anyone out for their choice of words. The whole point here is to vent your frustrations, not to watch your tone.

    Just sayin'...

CHM RIGHT!!! and my frustration is mean people.!! There vented!! Sorry you don't agree

Yes, it's shocking! But don't call anyone here "mean." It's against the rules.
There are better words, but I thought mean was a nice way to say it
