  1. I had my surgery 8/15/16 I started at 341 wearing a size 30-32 pants. And 4x top. As of today I am now 127lbs and wear anywhere from a 1 to 5 pants and small to medium top. Congratulations on your loss!! Keep up the great work.

  2. So I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for failure.

And you would consider yourself a "failure" if you didn't get down to 125 pounds??

You've got a long road ahead if that's the case. I think you will be thrilled when you get under 200. You'll assess things as you go along. Sometimes our bodies have other goal weights in mind. I'm the perfect example. I would have liked to get to 135 to make it an even 100 pound loss, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get there. I've even put on 3 pounds after maintaining for almost a year that won't come off. My body has a mind of it's own sometimes. So when a someone tells you "You can take it as far as you want!" that's not always true.

Like I said, be satisfied where ever you end up as long as you're healthy and happy.

Oh no I wouldn't consider myself a failure at all. I sure do appreciate all of the input from everyone.

  3. Is my goal of 125 lbs a realistic goal?

I had originally discussed with my Dr. that I really didn't have a goal weight in mind.

I just want to be healthy, which still holds true.

But now I do have a weight in my mind and it's 125.

So I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for failure.

  4. I guess I start here.

I've been overweight since early childhood. I've done almost every diet imaginable. I've lost bunches of weight and regained that back and more. I don't have a set in stone date for surgery yet, but my Dr. says it will be I'm July.

I went to my initial consult March 21st. My pre op nutrition class is June 21st and then my appt with my Dr. Is June 28th.

I'm guessing I start my pre op diet then. Not too sure how that works.

I'm not nervous or worried about the surgery. What is scaring the heck out of me, is that I don't know what it's like to be a thin person.

Any advice or thoughts are most welcome. And I'm looking forward to joining you on the losers bench!!!
