It's so mentally hard when all you're seeing is food and restaurant commercials. But you're right. Physically it's nowhere near as bad as I thought. It's all in my head lol

My surgery is 8/3. They only people that know are my immediate family and my supervisors.

Oh no I wouldn't consider myself a failure at all. I sure do appreciate all of the input from everyone.
And you would consider yourself a "failure" if you didn't get down to 125 pounds??So I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for failure.
You've got a long road ahead if that's the case. I think you will be thrilled when you get under 200. You'll assess things as you go along. Sometimes our bodies have other goal weights in mind. I'm the perfect example. I would have liked to get to 135 to make it an even 100 pound loss, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get there. I've even put on 3 pounds after maintaining for almost a year that won't come off. My body has a mind of it's own sometimes. So when a someone tells you "You can take it as far as you want!" that's not always true.
Like I said, be satisfied where ever you end up as long as you're healthy and happy.

I would like to get down to 125 lbs.
Do you mean you need to loose 125 or you want your weight to be 125?
Your goal will depend on a lot of things like your starting weight, your height and others. -
Thank you so much. I'm anxious to get going. My Dr. Says it will be July but we don't have a set date yet. It seems like June is going sooooooo sloooooooow.

Is my goal of 125 lbs a realistic goal?
I had originally discussed with my Dr. that I really didn't have a goal weight in mind.
I just want to be healthy, which still holds true.
But now I do have a weight in my mind and it's 125.
So I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for failure.

I've only told my immediate family and my supervisors at work. I think I'm the same way and want to see some results first.

Thank you for the info!

I guess I start here.
I've been overweight since early childhood. I've done almost every diet imaginable. I've lost bunches of weight and regained that back and more. I don't have a set in stone date for surgery yet, but my Dr. says it will be I'm July.
I went to my initial consult March 21st. My pre op nutrition class is June 21st and then my appt with my Dr. Is June 28th.
I'm guessing I start my pre op diet then. Not too sure how that works.
I'm not nervous or worried about the surgery. What is scaring the heck out of me, is that I don't know what it's like to be a thin person.
Any advice or thoughts are most welcome. And I'm looking forward to joining you on the losers bench!!!
