SAIL INTO SUMMER CHALLENGE

I am so sorry for my lateness this time everyone. Everything sucks right now. I got diagnosed with scabies on Monday that my doctor thinks I caught at the hospital when I had my paniculectomy surgery. Then..I got fired from my job on Tuesday. Luckily I still have another job but that was the one that paid the most and had the most hours. I am not having a good week. My weigh in for 7/7 was 261.2. -

SAIL INTO SUMMER CHALLENGE

@kurigotmoxie I've added you to the challenge! Welcome! @Pam_2-06-2017 You will break through! @konalisa80It's only a pound! It could only be water weight! Move on and down! @Torriluv87No problem! It's never too late to begin again. Every day is a new beginning, heck every meal is a new beginning. You can never go so off course that you can't find your way back. I also feel like I wasted or lost my honeymoon period but a lot of that was with my complications and having to take TPN infusions instead of eating for several months. All we can do is take a deep breath, let it out slow, and say today I will do this, today I will be on track. This is not an easy road and it will be something I struggle with for a lifetime. But I know I will never let myself get back to 540 pounds. I have slip ups but they are minor and alll I can do is start again the next meal. -

@klette0147 Congrats! That must feel great! @PaulaUSNHey! If you would like to join the challenge please post your goal weight for August 11, 2017 and I will add you to the challenge! Just post your weight each week! @Mandi4417 yay! -
I can't believe it guys! I really can't! I am seriously crying tears of joy. When I started this process I was 540 pounds (I'm 5'10) and I wore a size 36/38. As a lot of you know I had my panniculectomy on June 5th and they removed 15 pounds of skin. Before my panniculectomy I wore a size 22 bottom and 14/16-18/20 top. I had bought smaller sized pants before my surgery because most of my pants were held up by my extra skin flap. Guys...I fit into a size EIGHTEEN!!! And I look super good!! I'm attaching some before and after pictures for you guys to enjoy! I can't believe this is real life! My stomach is flat!! (Please excuse my one drain in my one picture!)

Pain medication concerns
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to heyheysaraj's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is possible to have withdrawal symptoms after a short time. Mostly because your dose was so high. When you have a higher dose your body can have more symptoms quicker. It is never good to stop pain meds cold turkey. You should taper off of them. My surgeon has repeatedly said this to me when I kept trying to just stop my dialaudid because I don't want to be on it for so long. When I try to stop it my pains get really bad though and it takes days to get back on top of the pain. -

@alcn1derlndI totally understand. I'm still healing from my panniculectomy. I am still on pain meds and I am soooo looking forward to being able to do my 6 mile walks and driving myself again! I feel so trapped depending on others to get places! I'm a month out but it still hurts when I don't take my pain meds. Today is my first day back at work and While I'm happy to be back, I'm definitely hurting. And I have class tonight after work! Then work tomorrow. I am going to be struggling. It will get better for you though. The laproscopic insicions are much easier and faster to recover from. I have a single 70 cm or over 27 inch incision. -

Dashofpixiedust8 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@alcn1derlnd Congrats on surgery! How are you feeling? @Omieliz Water weight sucks! I still have some swelling and water weight from my surgery. I know this because My drains are still draining like crazy! @Flippista You can get back on track! Some of that is probably water weight! @Roux-en-McClanahan Congrats on losing 30 pounds! -
So it's been one year since surgery. I am so thankful everyday for my sleeve. Before surgery I had to be on oxygen because I was so overweight I couldn't breathe properly and could hardly walk around a room without getting out of breath. Now I can walk 6 miles and up hills without stopping for a rest. I'm down 200 since surgery and 263 overall. I started at a size 36/38 (probably stretching it out) and now I'm a 18/20 too and 22 bottom (though probably smaller because of my extra skin...that will be gone soon though). I'm having a panniculectomy on June 5th. I'm nervous but also excited. Anyone who has had it...what are some things you think I'll need to help me out while recovering! I had a really rough 6 months after surgery with a bunch of complications but even with all of that I would do this again in a heartbeat. My stats are: Highest: 540 Surgery: 480 Current: 277.2 Goal: 199 Height: 5'10 I am almost exactly half who I used to be.

SV and NSV
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@MowryRocks Thank you!! -
I have a few NSVs to celebrate: 1. I walked past a mirror and did a double take. For the first time in many many years my first thought was "wow! You are actually really pretty!" Instead of the usual "ugh so fat" or "you look okay today but you are still fat" I'm going to be conceited today and say I am pretty [emoji23] 2. I went to a jewelry stand with my friend who is pretty skinny and we have the same ring size! I now wear a size 8 ring when just a year ago it was a size 14! That made me feel really skinny! 3. This is a scale victory but I'm at the point where I've actually lost more weight than I weigh right now! I am down 279 pounds and I weigh 261! I started at 540! I am just feeling awesome today!
