A question for those that are 6 months out and more.
chycky replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really don't know my calories any more as I don't track as religiously. I would say around 1200-1400 as due to my workouts, my nutritionist wanted me to add some fruit nut or additional yogurt. Coming off a plastic surgery with no gym and then holidays, I would say I was not on diet the entire time. But, I did not gain. You want to keep tracking as best as possible, I do stick to the same balance at most meals, they are just larger than when first started. Your activity may affect how much you can or should take in. -
It is hard and there are no other words for it. Mix up your protein. I love the unjury chicken broth about to have one now! Guac, hummus, cheese they are your puree friends. Hang in there!

When did you consider plastics?
chycky replied to BrandiceLeSha's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
As soon as I reached my goal, and I had arms, breast and lower body lift so far. Thighs in a month or two. Wouldn't change a thing! My surgeon recommended a great plastic surgeon that specializes in post WLS. Talk to your surgeon but with those numbers I would think you are there. Some advocate waiting a year after goal. For me, now way I wanted that skin around! -
Keep your motivation and maybe add some time and weights. I feel that strength training is key to seeing the weight and inches fall off!

First, 25 pounds down, that is great! I am sure many will chime in to say sometimes slow, sometimes fast, look past others results and focus on your own. But, 25 is a lot. If you are truly following exercise, diet, and protein to the letter -- why not try mixing up your fitness routine? Are you accelerating your cardio levels and/or weights? If not, it could be time to move those up.

Soo......I thought I had my timing close enough to perfect but now fear with surgery on June 21s that I will be starting/in midst of my period. I usually have cramps and just wondering if anyone else had this happen. Was it terrible or does it just make the need for heating pad and drugs seem even more reasonable?

ANYONE FEEL LIKE IT WAS A "WASTE"?
chycky replied to TaureanMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I do monitor portions not calories really. But I track religiously. I don't weigh everything like when I am eating outside of home but I don't deviate into carb heavy foods just because I am eating out. After measuring everything all the time, I think my Protein estimates are pretty good. I use my Fitbit to track exercise, food and Water. I get my Protein shakes and water intake goals everyday. My surgeon office has also been strong on saying those who succeed and sustain exercise. So that motivates me. -

Well I am sure you will hear from others it is not magic bullet it is tool. You have to eat according to plan in content and amount not just healthy food. And exercise is critical. I am thankful. I have lost over 120 in 7 months. I eat according to surgeon's office plan and work out 5-6 times per week with 3 days of weights. Review what you are supposed to be doing, Celebrate what you have achieved (50 lbs is significant!), and change what you know you need to for today and tomorrow. Good luck! -
Good luck @@AshburnMom I am very happy with my results and was sleeved at fair oaks in June. As for shakes, I am not big fan of the brand they have there bariatric advantage. Right now I drink premiere chocolate and unjury chicken broth flavored. Sometimes I just put plain iospure in water with lime juice. I feel you on not liking the fake sugars.

Winded more easily after anesthesia?
chycky replied to MissJDVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Call your doctor or better yet go to ER now. I had a PE (blood clot in lung) years ago before surgery but the reason I could tell something was wrong was walking up stairs. Surgery increases your risk. Please consider ER and calling your doc -
At almost 6 months post op I just spent most of November on unrelated health issue in hospital -27 days straight! It was very hard to get sufficient diet in, even on days where i had no restrictions for procedures. I had a pretty major surgery and minor procedure. I definitely felt that it was a transition to get back on schedule, but I was very motivated to get my protein and vitamin levels back up. So, I would just recommend trying to get back to schedule and at minimum prioritize your protein shakes and water. Best of luck!

I live in VA and have care first bcbs it is based in MD but I am pretty sure carefirst is same in DMV. Regardless I can share I had a 6 month period of classes. It did have some nice flexibility. If you could demonstrate another weight loss program within the last 6 you could get some "credit" for those classes or program to help you speed up time to surgery. I don't know what BMi requirement was I think minimum of 40. For me, after wait it was pretty simple. Coinsurance or copays could differ between plans mine was $300

Thank you! Everyone should consider even if you don't see all on mobile version or app you can always view the full/desktop version for some context. I wish mobile would let you see more details when you click a person or maybe their tickers. -

Ditto to really everything shared. Best to wait you might lose more in some areas than others. Higher sizes in some items can take sometimes longer to move through. I would definitely wait. I am amazed at how much I have gotten rid of because like others I did not want to be swimming in some of my clothes (some big is ok). I have some items I could not wear and I have already grown out/down from. Others fit better, others fit more comfortably but looked too big. I have only bought a couple of items at smaller size that were really on sale. For coat, would wait as long as you can. One suggestion I got from someone on these boards for pants are amazing buttons that you can easily add to make pants that button tighter. They are incredibly strong and allowed me to take some inches off jeans. I will post they were only $5 on Amazon.

Sports Shaker Bottle with BariatricPal's logo and name - would you be embarrassed to use it?

I wouldn't use logo and I definitely wouldn't buy. How about "Drink your water" or "Protein Water pee repeat" -
