Late June Sleeve Buddies?
chycky replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try some unflavored Protein powder in Water. My favorite is ice water, lime, and powder -- shake it like a cocktail! I know it is awful to swallow when sore throat I hope the water could help both priorities (medicine and nourishment) get down. I am sure it is a lot to deal with after major medical and life change to have sickness. Try to find small victories to move forward. Not walking a lot, but more than day before. Pat yourself on the back! Progress is day to day and personal! -
I Am Thankful For My Stall

I am embracing @@Inner Surfer Girl wisdom for when needed! Your original article/post should be pinned to the top of one of the post surgery forums! -
I posted this in wrong forum, my bad, but wanted to share with fellow sleevers for advice. ., Hello, almost week 4 post-op. Have been off and on but mostly "regular" enough. But after, let's just say an event, where I weighed myself because at day 3 of having not gone I thought, "that MUST be a pound lost!" (No such luck btw). I thought I cannot do that again, I mean I have not given birth but that must have been close. So not to get too detailed (fleet). Let's talk prevention. Anyone doing the Fiber mix that you can supposedly mix in Water with no taste? How are they are non-fiber carbs? Thanks!

Benefiber seems to already be making an improvement, but time will tell. I don't notice taste or smell, but I put in really cold Water and often add lime or lemon juice. I have also added it to a Protein shake.

How restricted is your sleeve?
chycky replied to GetBack_095's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on 2 oz size meals. I definitely agree that fat is not tolerable. I just had a good dinner - chicken and edamame so small when I look at it. But I am so full and think I ate a bit too fast. How is everyone pacing your eating or is this a problem for all? -

Unflavored protien powder
chycky replied to LJDavenport's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@purpletmar I like unjury as well ❤️ Their chicken broth. For unflavored isopure has a bit more protein and cost a little less. -
My nutritionist has said if it is going to happen it will but the key to helping body deal with stress is protein. Call it prevention on not but my hair and nails are growing like crazy since taking extra steps since pre-op and if that makes whatever is lost not seem dramatic I will take it.

Now is a good time to measure all over body, record numbers, and have those available for NSV in future! -
Hey I just read that "some surgeons" are ok with coke (insert sarcasm). I know it is hard I love red wine coffee WITH caffeine (I look forward to having small amounts one day) and I loved Perrier (have let set in travel mug for a day to get totally flat, still like flavor but probably not buying anymore). But seriously, I am new, but really? limited real estate -- Protein Water.

I feel like I have the same thing happening. I think it is probably more pronounced at higher weights. It is looking a bit better, I am only about 4 weeks post-op. But like @@BigViffer said this is the larger incision where the stomach was removed. My nurse told me when I discussed the incisions that hurt more (this one and one on my left), she said stomach one and left are more manipulated during surgery so they hurt a bit more.

I am heading to movie as well just shy of 4 weeks post op. I am sticking with Protein shake per @lipsticklady. Also because time of day I am going that is what I would be eating/drinking, so trying to stay on schedule. Will bring Water as well. We are going early to morning show so family will bring Snacks not eat popcorn which is nice to avoid temptation/depression about popcorn for me!

I bought the Wellesley liquid. It in no way tastes good but it is easier to get down than the Bari melts and the taste lingers less and doesn't stick to tongue like the melts. So until I can swallow pills again not bad. I will use it as one of my doses and then use up the rest of Vitamins I have.

First veggies to try?
chycky replied to Lizardlady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whole Foods has in bulk cheaper than packages. Braggs is a name brand you see a lot. I think you can get it from Amazon. Possibly vitamin stores but not sure on that. It adds a nice flavor and a dash of protein. -

What does your doctor consider a "puree"?
chycky replied to lutheranian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So not sure if you mean liquid + stage (which for me was week 2 post op) or mushy phase as my nut calls it week 3-6. During liquid+ I got to add creamy soup and yogurt. In the latter stage i got to add cottage cheese, eggs, deli meat, limited veggies, and "soft meat." -
Thanks!

I would not tell her personally. I am not yet sure if I will tell my 17 year old stepdaughter. I arranged surgery on the rare time she was away and I worry that it can make her more self conscious and less interested in making good choices. If she were 13, no way. She didn't and doesn't have issues with activity and her weight is fine, she is very athletic so not a waif. At times, I know she thinks she is "heavy" which she is not. We will see how things go and if this changes. Where you are is a great place to make your changes in diet and exercise a good role model for her. Obviously not in portion size but choices. I would take advantage of that.

I am interested in flax seed since I saw ground flaxseed at whole foods I have to check with my nut on whether this ok now or not though.

Soft Solid Foods Question
chycky replied to thisgirlhunts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may need to make your chilli with puréed tomatoes to avoid seeds. Chilli is on my list for soft stage, but seeds are still prohibited. You could also use chopped or crushed just make sure no seeds. Most crushed that I buy don't have seeds -

Confessions of overeating...
chycky replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can have sashimi which can be sushi but not always. Basically fish no rice/roll. This was allowed at my 3 week "mushy" phase.
