  1. Agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl start with liquid Proteins you will feel better and for me it helped fight off headache. My biggest problem was that for first week or two I could not eat the shakes that is did pre-op. Had to mix it up and do Protein added to Water or broth. But that changed and I rely on the convenience of premier Protein Shakes now at almost 8 weeks post op.

    Isopure (Yuck!)

I did the unflavored isopure in water with lime juice. Best protein water i had as the flavored ones really have a chemical and too sweet aftertaste to me.
  3. @@suzzzzz take the loss . I consider the lowest weight recorded to be my weight until the next lowest weight! Really eating less than 800 calories and working out I ignored the back and forth 1/2 lb that happened. I know that will change and will eventually need to watch climbs but at this point I am sticking to LW that I get even if takes a week to come down again!
  4. I thought standard maybe you could ask. You will know if problem but it would be because of severe problem/infection due to leak.
  5. @@ShelterDog64 thank you! If you get a chance it is well worth it. Lobster is not as cheap here as it was up in RI but I will be looking to have again before season ends. @@KristenLe I shudder to think I could become allergic I could eat it every meal! Really struggling with water the last two days being somewhat off normal schedule due to vaca has been challenging. I put priority on the protein shakes! I even made some of the chicken broth protein but had one snafu when water was too hot had to dump the hockey puck "biscuit" that formed and start over!
  6. I just traveling on vaca and forgot my cups to help measure with no scale. I think I did ok and broke a week long stall with about 5 lbs lost. I didn't feel as deprived as lobster is my main food goal on vaca and it is diet approved. It just took more than one meal to eat one but saved money as well! Lobster hot for dinner lobster salad for lunch on beach!

    Help

Oh and I should add that I had a lot of itching post op in hospital and they said that was likely from anesthia and gave me Benadryl it as not in any one spot but lasted in mild way for about a week.

    Restriction

Wow 1-2 eggs sugar free pudding and protein shakes but staying at 300 calories? What shakes are you eating ?

    Help

Sounds normal. I had an allergic reaction to some of tape they used to tape down a med pump. I put a mild cortisone on it and I was not told I could not moisturize area and was told I could use neosporin.
  11. For most the medical necessity is the benefits and success outweighs risk or chronic condition being unaddressed. It is elective in that you have other options to "cure" morbid obesity this is one that can be covered by insurance like some of the obesity meds.
  12. Wow. I miss red wine. Went off a few months before surgery and my surgeon does not green light alcohol for one year or maitenance.
  13. There are many studies out warning about long term effects of ppis and kidney issues is top concern. I worry about this also, but as many have shared lifetime obesity has its own known and dire consequences. As @@Bufflehead said it is something you will re-evaluate with your surgeon and could come off. You can look up studies, they are talking about multiple years of continuous ppi use and it is not yet known what will be outcome/advice.
  14. I would agree and you could let them know you have plans that mean you would like X as start date. I would not share medical information upfront if you do not have to, you can be protected if they rescind (maybe) but is it worth the risk? And make sure you get it offer and date in writing.

Blood draws are not rocket science...

A butterfly did that? I hope that she was just having an "off day" that is terrible!
  16. I agree with @@suzzzzz you might be taking too large of sip or bite It is hard to get hang of it, and it does get (somewhat) better as you heal

    8th week post op!

I am doing well more to lose than you but down 30+ since surgery and 45+ overall. I am in soft food stage, 3 small meals and shakes per day.
  18. I can have it if using as a meal and if small or shredded pieces with well cooked veg. Frankly my "meals" are so small that trading one for another liquid has not been appealing to me. But, I have unjury chicken "broth" Protein almost every night.

    8th week post op!

Wow! Awesome. I am two weeks away from my 8 week. This is inspiring thank you for sharing!
  20. Omg I hate my Bari melts so much and can't wait until they are gone/I get to swallow pills again! But guess what the Bariatric Advantage calcium chewable tablets are worse. If I make it to an in person support group meeting I am bringing them to give away because I just can't. I find it next to impossible to work in more than one calcium tablet right now. I don't feel this is a problem right now and I shared with my team as I do get calcium in 3 Protein shakes/broth per day on top of the one chewable. I have occasionally taken 2 one at lunch; but mostly one near dinner. I take my multi in morning and evening.

    Two week post op food

Same here protein shakes first week post op. They gave me sugar free jello with protein and broth with protein in hospital.
  22. chycky

    Sugar free Jello

It is the worst I can't believe i bought it and tried to eat. Blech. Never was a jello fan. I used the sugar free Popsicles instead.

    Coconut chicken soup

I had a coconut lime chicken bone broth from whole foods. I would say it could be fine if not too fatty.
  24. Jealous! No tomatoe for me yet but caprese salad is going to be topping my list in a couple of weeks!

    Cheese itz?

@@LipstickLady it was one poster, not original, that took this off track to viewing responsive advice as condemnation I hope you and @@Dub see that many of us (at least appear in responses and i can say I personally do) see you both as being heartfelt and helpful!
