  1. If you can't eat much I'd just do Protein and liquid. I had surgery Monday and tried watered down cream of wheat yesterday morning. Four small bites over twenty minutes and I felt like I had swallowed a ball. Then last night I had protein pudding and was able to have a quarter cup. The difference was the time of day and the texture difference. I feel I get a little better every day so I'm not too worried. I start my day with protein 2o grape drink because it isn't as thick and easier to get down.

  2. I informed my medical staff at the hospital but I wasn't allowed to take them till after my swallow test the second day. I told them part of my nausea was from not taking my meds. I wasn't anxious for surgery but not having my meds, that withdrawal illness you can get, was real and it makes you anxious. I tell this to a nurse and she suggests I talk to the chaplain about my anxiety.[emoji849] Lol you can't explain to some people how psych meds work. Anyway I've been taking them the day after surgery and have had none changed to liquid and I've had zero issues even at the hospital.

  3. I get something weird and lots of times I haven't eaten at all. It's like a wave from my chest to my lower torso. It feels like a gas bubble but only lasts about five seconds. It's unpleasant for sure.

I haven't burped in years because I was banded so the sensation is odd to me.

  4. I think some of that is normal healing and "real" food will fill us up more. I just had surgery Monday so I'm still pretty tight. Four bites of cream of wheat kept me full half the day but with liquids I notice are getting easier with bigger sips. Think about how little you are really consuming in a day compared to before. We got this!;)

  5. Congrats! I had my lap band removed and was sleeved Monday. Monday was rough but each day I feel more normal. I'm not sure if the lap band caused more pain but I did get another puncture for that. I've had my gall bladder out and that was rough too but you'll be glad it's gone if you've had pain.

  6. I'm weird that I like veggies more than fruits. Asparagus, fresh green Beans or Brussel sprouts roasted on a pan or in tin foil on the grill. I like olive oil and a bit of parmesan, salt and pepper. We are also nuts for sweet peppers and eat them like carrots or healthy chicken fajitas. If you don't have one get a good processor or chopper and you can put veggies in about anything. Also you can make cauliflower crust for healthy pizzas.

  7. Wow I'd be scared. Every time I feel a new pain or tinge I freak out a bit. I'm glad it worked out for you and you are feeling better. Preop liquid diet bothered me but on this side it seems more than reasonable but so far I'm just thirsty not hungry. I might have some cream of wheat tomorrow to see if that goes over but that's an allowed food from my doctor. Applause too but I really am focusing on my Liquid Protein. When I get the right amount in I feel so much better! Good luck
