  1. Hello all!

I finally got a surgery date - June 12th! I have been bouncing around trying to get appointments with my doctors for about 2 months now and I can finally say what month I'm getting banded, so it looks like I'll be a Jazzy Junie! I'm getting banded with Dr. Philip Weber in White Plains, NY. I hope to get to know you all!

  2. You can also try Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. It's really great for anyone, as the movements are all easily performed, and if not, you can always just march in place along with the music. I have a friend who is around 375, and she can do this, and enjoys it.

This would be something you can do no matter what the weather is doing outside. I find them very helpful because there are about 3 months out of the year where it's nice enough outside to get out and exercise outside. The rest of the time it's either freezing cold, or scorching hot.

    Good luck!

Thank you for recommending this! I bought this DVD pack from Circuit City that has 10 different workout programs on it, but I can't keep up with them yet. I'm looking forward to trying something a little easier to start with.

  3. Other favorite crockpot meal is chicken cut into cubes, and 1 - 2 (depednign on how much chicken) cans golden mushroom Soup, cream of chicken soup. Then add either a cup of mayo or sour cream, don't remember which, and a handful of shredded cheddar. Hubby loves this over rice, I actually eat it hot like a soup.

This sounds REALLY good. Can you try to find out if it's mayo or sour cream (I would assume it's sour cream, I've heard of similar recipes)? Also, I don't have a crockpot, so do you think this could be made in a pot on the stove if the chicken is cooked beforehand?

  4. Hey girls,

I'm a little too embarrassed to ask this anywhere else and I don't even know if it's appropriate for the forums, but I need to know: When were you able to be "on top" during sex? My thighs have been too big ever since I've been with my fiance so I have no gauge of how much I'd need to lose before I can try again. I used to think I was the only one with some of these problems, but since I joined the forums, I realize many of my issues aren't just me! Any insight or other possible positions until the weight is gone would be appreciated.

  5. I don't know if I'm nervous or what, but I keep thinking that this surgery isn't going to happen. I keep thinking that I won't follow through and get everything done, that I'll keep postponing my appointments and won't schedule a date, I don't know. I told my fiance about this and he said that he won't let me just forget about it because he knows how much I want this. I think I'm afraid I'll go through with this, spend all the money, and it won't work. I'm not miserable with my fat self, so it's not like it's desperation that I want the surgery, but I know I need to stop gaining weight and move downward. It's a strange feeling that I'm at right now.

  6. So far of the people I've told at work that I'm getting the Lap-Band, only one person was really against it, and she's the second heaviest in the company (but she's still not huge, maybe around 200-220?). Everyone else has been really supportive and curious about how it works, what I'll be able to eat, etc.

The only person I'll ever refuse to tell is my mom (who is thin), because I won't get any support from here, been there, done that, and partially blame her for my last weight loss attempt failing horribly.

  7. I just started using fitday since I have to have 7 days worth of journals to bring to my dietitician/psychologist appts in a few weeks. I'm already heartbroken--my favorite Breakfast from Burger King is as much calories as I should have in a full day, along with 222 carbs...omg. See, just journaling never made me "aware" of what I was eating...to me, it was a small/regular breakfast. But when you see the nutritional facts is what really opens your eyes!

  8. I accidentally came here yesterday when I meant to click on "Twenties" but I think I have some advice for you all:

I'm 24 but I started dating my current fiance when I was 17, and while I weighed less then than I do now, I was still about 300 when I met him, and he still stays by my side even when I gained more. I also had a hard time finding guys that would date me in high school...until I started online dating. I found my fiance in a chat room on Yahoo. I really recommend online dating for not just people like us, but even some of my friends who are really shy or one of my friends who just gets really spazzy sometimes and it can be overwhelming if he met someone face-to-face before they got to know him. The reason online dating is nice is because you get to know someone without the first impression of looks. Plus, it's not as emotionally high risk because if you start talking to someone and it doesn't work out early on, you never have to see or talk to them again, no awkwardness of being in the same school as someone.

Of course, it is harder if you find someone who is further away, like my boy lived in New York while I was from Iowa, but now I live in NY as well just to be with him and we're getting married soon. I would do it all over again if I had to just to be as happy as I am now--6 years of being apart was worth it. With alot of dating sites though, you can specify how far away you are willing to look for someone.

Anyways, that's the end of my little rant, good luck everyone! Here are some pics of me and my sweety:
