Difficulty meeting goals in the pureed/soft food stage
Yes. I had surgery on June 21st. I've been very tired. Things that are usually easy for me, I feel like I'm dying trying to get through it. Just no energy lately. I'm sure it's all temporary. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How often do you sip your water?
Same here. It's soooo frustrating because I really just want to gulp down a big glass of Water, but I can't. I feel like I'm sipping all day and night. It's hard when normal life gets in the way and there's no way of getting fluids I need. Like hook a Fluid bag up to an IV on me! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Did anyone experienced bleeding incisions?
No problem! I think the neosporin definitely helped it close up faster. Hopefully it works for you too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Eating 9 days post op
Day 3 and I was on puréed Protein. Be very very careful with chicken. I eat it, but it needs moisture, like mayo. If it's not chewed very well, it will get stuck and hurt like hell. Then you'll probably throw it up. If soup is an option, that might work better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Did anyone experienced bleeding incisions?
Yes I had it for around 3 or 4 days after surgery. I put neosporin on it, put gauze on it and taped it up. That helped soak up blood and Fluid. I changed it daily and it finally closed up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Day 13- no weight loss in 3 days
Wow!!! That's amazing, congrats. If you don't mind me asking, what was your starting weight? I am thinking that I'm not eating enough too. I usually can get down 1 Protein shake and a couple spoonfuls of cottage cheese. I will also have a sugar free Popsicle but that's about it. What do you think? Thanks! My starting weight was 338 lbs and I'm 6 ft tall. I mostly get in three meals a day which consists of 4 oz of protein each. I also have a Popsicle as well. Otherwise thats about it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Ok, Gotcha. How many grams is 4 Oz?Sorry, one more question. How do you get your protein? shakes? The grams of protein all depend on what I'm eating. I eat chicken, eggs, tuna, and cheese. Add cheese to almost everything and it adds in protein as well as calories. I do have Protein Shakes every now and then. Day 13- no weight loss in 3 days
They say there's a 3rd week stall. We're coming up on that. I've read that it passes eventually. So far I'm still losing and have lost 28 pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When did you.....?
They gave me something to calm me and then they wheeled me in the OR. They moved me onto the operating table and that's the last thing I remember. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

2 days post op
I sat up in a chair most of the time and I'd rock myself back and forth. That kinda made things roll out. I'd put a little pressure on my abdomen area and that would move some. Then I'd stand up and kinda step side to side and it would come out. The gas pain was pretty bad for me. So I found that to help me along with all the walking. Any movement is key. I found laying in bed only made it worse. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Nothing has made me sick
I'm two weeks out and I haven't gotten sick either. I've been on puréed foods the whole time and I've tried everything. Moved onto soft foods and still no problems. I've read that people can't handle eggs. I've just kinda been waiting for some type of pain, nausea, or vomiting and I haven't even come close. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Eggs?

Help me
Happy early birthday. What foods did you purée ? Looking for ideas here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thank you! I started with scrambled eggs. I've also had chicken with Frank's buffalo sauce. I just had some ham today for dinner. I've had ground turkey, and made egg salad too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

PB2
There's nothing to PB2 so that's why sugar is listed. It's a very small small amount. My Protein powder has 3 grams of sugar. I use PB2 in my chocolate Protein shake and it tastes like a Peanut Butter cup. I haven't had any dumping at all. This is very healthy. We're already eating next to nothing, so this won't be ruining anything if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Who to tell
When I was pre-op, I would tell some random people and they'd give me this face like, "oh no, why?" My mother had gastric bypass many years ago and my father had the lap band done several months ago. So it's kind of running in the family here. As for the rest of my family, I haven't told them. I'll be seeing friends and family on the 4th of July, so I'll see how this all goes down. I don't think I'll be hiding it at all. So it'll be interesting to see some responses. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Gastric Bypass vs. Gastric Sleeve
I think bypass helps to keep you in line. Like I know I can't have sugar on bypass, but with a sleeve, nothing would be stopping me. I wanted the best results as well as something that would help control me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long did it take from your first consultation until surgery day?
My consultation was in April and I got my surgery on June 21st. I wanted it a lot sooner, but that's all they had available. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
