  1. I didn't read the whole comment. It was rather too long for me and I'm a lazy reader. Lol

However, I pretty much got that people are reacting a certain way to your posts. People will always have an opinion and feel the need to express it. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. It's just flawed human nature. Ignore , ignore, ignore, and don't give the negative people so much acknowledgment because then they start to believe that what they have to say matters. Carry on and shine bright!

  2. I'm a private person to begin with. Only my husband and bff knows. I don't like being asked a lot of questions nor have I ever inspired to be a poster child for anything. I'm very thankful for all those who do share thier journey publicly because it has helped to know what to expect. Kudos to them. As for me, I'm keeping it to myself but don't mind answering questions through this type of social media that allows you to keep your identity private.

  3. What is the Barium swallow

It's when you are given this colored liquid to drink and make sure there are no leaks in your new stomach. Not all surgeons do it that way though. My surgeon performed the leak test in the operating room. So thankful mine was done that way because everyone one says the the barium swallow is a horrible experience.

  4. I was sleeved on May 9th and was in the hospital for 4 days! I couldn't keep Water down for the first 3 days and they just kept me an extra day just in case...I have never heard of anyone going home the same day...that's very strange

I think it really depends on how well your body recovers right after surgery. I was very blessed to only have mild discomfort and pretty much zero pain. My surgery was at 8am and was awake and walking around by 11am. I was able to sip all my Water with no issues so by 3pm I was out of there! Leak test was done in the OR so I'm sure that's another reason why I got to leave early.

  5. I'm 5 weeks post op now, and I cannot tolerate the chewable Vitamins. I'm looking for peoples favorite pill form mulitivitamins (preferably with iron), and Calcium with Vitamin D. Some of the ones I've seen are SO expensive compared to others. Others are huge and some not so big. Thanks in advance! :)

I take Alive max potency liquid Vitamins and Wellesse calcium and Vitamin d3 also in liquid form . I mix alive with my morning protien shake and wellesse in my evening shake.< a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/monthly_06_2016/post-293427-14648904511537.jpg" data-fileid="62544" rel="">post-293427-14648904511537_thumb.jpg post-293427-14648905028794_thumb.jpg

  6. I went back to work on my 3rd day post op as well! I think it may be a combination of your health at the time of surgery and having an excellent skilled surgeon will determine how well you recover. I followed my surgeons advice and did as much walking as possible the first 2 days. I was exhausted but forced myself to move around so recovery would speed up.

  7. I did not have a leak test either. I did go through the Nicholson clinic in Dallas. I'm so happy that I have had no problems and at 5 days post op went back to work today!!

If you had your surgery done at the Nicholson clinic, then your leak test was down while you were still under anesthesia. They fill your new stomach with a blue dyed liquid and they probably told you this coming right out of surgery so sometimes it's hard to remember all that is said to you when you just wake up. You should have passed the liquid when you had your first pee after surgery.
