  1. I'm sure many will disagree and that's totally fine with me....

However, for me personally...wls has been the easiest way out.

I've had food addiction most of my adult life and without forcefully being restricted from food was the only thing that could save me from myself. A food addiction is probably the most difficult type of addiction to overcome. Mainly because you just can't stay away from food completely. A crackhead has a better chance of recovery because they just have to stay away from the crack house or people that are enablers.

I lost 70 lbs on my own before wls and I can tell you that it was hands down far more difficult than the wls. I worked out 2 hours almost everyday and was eating lean small meals.I was very non social cause there was no way I had enough will power to not indulge while eating with friends. I felt great, but I was miserable and always hungry. After a life long of yo-yo dieting, I knew wls was the only way out of that addiction. I'm sure if there was a surgery that could help crackheads stop being crackheads ,I would definitely never discourage them from taking the easy way out. Who really cares as long as their finally healthy and whole again. I'm proud to admit this has been the easiest way out for me.

  2. I'm stalling weight wise. I'm not digging Protein shakes when it's 113 degrees outside. I need advice. Please tell me how I can continue losing weight when I continue tittering in place. Help!!!

I'm 5 weeks post op an can relate to drinking the protien shakes in this hot weather. Last week I put my premier vanilla shake in the freezer because I needed it to be super cold. Well, of course as the day progressed I forgot I had left it in the freezer. Took it out and it was frozen. So I decided to cut the pouch open to defrost it in the microwave. To my surprise, the shake froze to the same consistency as ice cream! So now I have ice cream protien treats every day.

  3. It may not look like it, it may not feel like it, but I assure you ....

This is a blessing in disguise. When you're truely loved unconditionally, no surgery or circumstance could make him stop loving you. If he's willing to take a chance on losing you to another man, then he's definitely not the one. I know this hurts so much right now but you will find the strength with in you to move past this. *Hugs*

Try sucking on sugar free popsicles! Pedia light has a popsicle brand especially for dehydration. Or even make your own out of crystal light.

I was sleeved on 5/23 and can also eat 2 scrambled eggs. I've also been able to eat 3-4 ounces of Protein and not feel stuffed or sick. Just satisfied. Everyone around here has me wondering if I'm doing it all wrong.
I was sleeved same day! I'm still on liquids. I can't start soft foods till Monday.

  6. I spent yesterday working all day, looks like I missed the fun.

In a land (WLS land) where so many people really ******* hate themselves, it is rare to find people that actually like themselves. The people that do, stand out so much.

No one is going to dull my sparkle or the sparkle of ANYONE who has loved themselves a little on this thread.
Sounds like this should end with my personal anthem.

  8. You should be allowed more than just Protein shakes at 2 weeks post-op. I was allowed strained cream Soups and yogurt as well at that point. You definitely want to get your calories higher as soon as you are able. Being that low for long is going to wreck you metabolism.

I'm pretty sure my metabolism has been wrecked for quit some time now. That's why I decided to do this surgury. My surgeon wants me to wait 3 weeks to make sure all the swelling is gone and my new stomach can handle solid foods with no issues. Everyone's different but I would still recommend you stick to what your doctor advises.
