"You're losing too much too fast!"

Well Tiffy, if we aren't two peas in a pod then! I'm very direct as well! I only hope to have the need to ever hear that I'm losing too quickly!!!
  2. Great thread!! @Tiffy - again, you have great information for us!! I enjoyed watching the presentation (though he does say "um" alot lol). I currently have a LB that I hate. I am hoping to get a sleeve 1Q of next year. If my insurance doesn't pay, that will definitely put off my surgery date! Recently, I met with my LB surgeon who took out all of my saline. Wow, I haven't had a PB since! Yippee! I've had 2-3 friends tell me that they were very concerned for me with my PB's. Aww. Anyway, I feel like the surgeon was trying to steer me to GB saying that it has higher risk but greater results than the VS. I personally know of 2 people that died during their GB surgeries (albeit 10ish years ago) but still. My one gf that GB has gained at least every pound back. (I haven't had the nerve to ask if she's back at her surgery weight!) I am SO sick of being heavy and am so incredibly tired of this LB that I could scream! My surgeon's done numerous, numerous WLS but has only done one LB to VS conversion but says that the sleeve is a much easier surgery for a surgeon. I think that he said that he's done ten LB to GB surgeries wherein his patients have done well. (But how difficult is it to do better than a LB? Sorry, sarcasm there!) I am in the Atlanta area but can't find any information about our surgeons on here or on OH. Anyone have any info re: Atlanta surgeons? If so, thanks! Clearly it's late (almost midnight) and I'm rambling. I apologize! Good luck to everyone on their WLS journeys. May we all end up as slender as Tiffy!!!

Lil - girl you just HAD to go with a baseball metaphor, didn't you?!? (wait, if you used 'like' then it's a simile, right?). Nerd alert! Congrats again to your Giants, sugah!

    Pondering the sleeve

Great to see such positive responses; thank you all! After 2 LB friends have successfully revised to a sleeve, I am more and more interested in revising! Hate my band! Do sleevers PB like banders do? Man that's horrible!
  9. Hi everyone. I heard from Diva just now. She says, "All done! Everything went well. super sleepy." She asks that I let everyone know. Yea, she's finished!!!
  10. XOXOXOXOX, Diva! You're going to do great!!!
  11. I named mine Rob after a co-worker that gets on my last nerve!!!

  14. Woot, woot! Hi, sugah!!! :-D

  15. ThinOneDay - I too am thinking about revising from a LB. Would you please expand on why there are days you wouldn't have gotten the sleeve surgery? I would really appreciate it! -G
  16. Wow - lots of names I recognize from LBT! I'm SickNTired for Wasa and Mac. MommaMac - I didn't realize that you had lost 115 pounds; that's awesome!!! Wasa - are you at goal and hanging tough!?! :-) and yeah re: DS - I'll pass but thanks anyway!

    5 Months Banded . . . now looking elsewhere

While I am a LB'r that is considering revision surgery, I do think that contemplating a revision so early is a bit premature. However, that is only my opinion. If you got banded in Mexico, who does your fills in the US?

    I Got my Surgery Date!!!

Diva - 3 weeks is so soon!!! Woot!!! You KNOW I'm following you!
  19. I've just signed up on VST because I'm thinking about getting a revision from a band to VSG. I find this thread so cute b/c you guys all found each other! That's so exciting that you get to meet each other and then will be able to talk about your experiences on VST! Good luck to you all!!! Very exciting!

    Sleeve or Band??

Brit - My band doctor doesn't even do sleeve surgery "b/c there isn't enough data on it yet." How about there's a lot of not so great data on the band, toots? Just sayin'!!! Tif - when you mentioned bread, I almost gagged just reading the word! For some reason, I always get stuck around my parents (who live in a neighboring state). I get the "oh no, are you ok" face and I hate that they worry. I also hate knowing that 15 or so people know I had the stupid band put in and know also that I've maybe lost 30 pounds. Now every pound lost is great, don't get me wrong but still!!! My band surgeon's staff is great and they were on the ball with paperwork to the insurance. The notion of going through all that again is just daunting. A friend from LBT (lapbandtalk) is going to begin the process of looking at revision. PBing is just the grossest, unsettling, and somewhat painful thing. Ugh!

    My surgeon is so rude.

Sumthing - beyond uncool re: both posts. Yes there are plenty of obese people in this country to operate on; however, a doctor can have a successful practice or just an OK practice. I like Mi-Mi's idea about writing a letter. I did the exact same thing to my band surgeon regarding his surgical assistant. She was very rude and, at my age, I'm tired of putting up with people's crap. I don't care how many degrees one has; speaking down to people like SB was today is just disgusting and uncalled for. I have NEVER have anyone speak to me the way SB's surgeon did to her....not even some schmuck walking down the street. Every service provider is replaceable. SB, if you have the time and the patience for it, I am with those that voted for a new surgeon. I'm sure that the DFW are is big enough to have more than one. Good luck to you!!!!!
  23. wow, I wish someone would post! I have a band and am looking into the possibility of getting sleeved with UHC. i don't have erosion like you do, however.

    Sleeve or Band??

Thanks for the information, Tiffykins! I was banded in Oct 08 and hate it. (That is MY opinion of MY experience. I know a lot of people that have had great success with their bands. Thought I'd put that in before I get jumped!) I was reminded again of VST and am here to look around and learn. I probably couldn't do it this year but am very seriously researching to get a revision to a sleeve. Again, thanks! Oh, one question, do you PB with a sleeve?
