Good calories?
highfunctioningfatman replied to charley27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my lunch favorites is a breadless crab or shrimp melt. I put a pile of the good stuff on a plate and hit it with lemon juice and old bay seasoning. Nuke for 30 seconds and add a slice of havarti cheese. Dang good food! -
My sister is doing well. My mom died 6 months later. It turns out that she had lung cancer that we didn't know about. Her body quit fighting the cancer when she needed to heal from the bypass. It is one of the reasons why I fought doing this.

I'm 4 weeks out today. I've had some great things happen. I've lost a total of 38 pounds, 19 pre op and 19 post op. 10.5 inches of fat man are gone. Mr. Happy looks longer because the "awning" covering him is smaller. I got out of my van on Saturday at a customers place and my shorts hit the ground. Best of all are in the pictures below. I went to Hawaii in 2005 and 2015. This is 2015. That is a 4x shirt that looks like I was wearing a tent. Apparently a 4 man tent... In 2005 I wore this 3x. I put it on last weekend and it fit great! The pair of jeans that I'm wearing I literally had to pray, lay on the bed and exhale completely to get zipped. Saturday they fit beautifully. Also I was having blood pressure issues since April. Guess what? NO MORE!

Happy fat man!

I should also add that it hasn't been perfect. I struggle to get my water in everyday. Heck I can't even drink plain water. My exercise isn't as well as I would hope but isn't bad. My back also hurts from posture change. I dream of having a nice turd. Either way 90 plus percent is pretty damn good. -
What can I do to help with my tiredness?
highfunctioningfatman replied to Jmonger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't take this the wrong way but push through the tired. Go as far as you can today and go farther tomorrow. My motivation was sex. I wanted my wife bad but I was afraid of not being able to have any stamina. Day 5 afterwards and I was ready for slow and easy. By day 9 we were like teenagers. -
Lactose intolerant
highfunctioningfatman replied to Shauny85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a problem with milk for years. I was tested and it was determined to be an enzyme issue not a lactose issue. So far 4 weeks post op I haven't had any problems. I'm going to try 2% milk this weekend and see if I can avoid a hospital. -

Eating around the sleeve?
highfunctioningfatman posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard the term eating around the sleeve before. I just want to make sure that I'm not doing it. One of my friends made me a special batch of beef jerky. He made it using Stevia instead of his usual brown sugar. It is a little high in salt because he uses a quarter of a cup of salt for every gallon of water. He sliced extremely thin and let it sit in the brine for 7 days before smoking. It was extremely good and amazingly easy to eat, because it was so easy I am concerned that I may be eating around the sleeve. -
Chugging water
highfunctioningfatman replied to sarajeano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would love to drink "plain old water". I can't, it gets hung up in my throat. I'm getting away with propel water. I've done Gatorade g2, Powerade Zero, vitamin water zero and something else that I don't recall. Water though kicks my butt. -
Eating around the sleeve?

If you find a recipe that you like please share it. I have never had a good turkey jerky. Also when it comes to Wild Turkey I can only do the breasts and thighs. After that it just has too odd of a flavor. If I found something that I could enjoy the legs and wings as well that would be awesome. -

I like a nice venison jerky don't get me wrong but you get me elk jerky and I am all over it! -
Southern Oregon. My sister and my mom both went to Tersigni back in 2000-2001. I went to Trinity Medical in Tijuana and I was extremely happy. They treated us amazing. How many places do you know that will take you sightseeing, buy your wife lobster for dinner and to an hour long massage? There is a coordinator in Grants Pass for them.

Former Fast Food/Junk Food Favorites
highfunctioningfatman replied to Kooky1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As the saying goes, I was fast, cheap and easy. There is a country song by Tim McGraw called where the Green Grass Grows. There is a line in the lyrics about another supper from a sack, a 99 cent heart attack. That is definitely the direction I was headed. There is no way in hell I want to try anything that is going to jeopardize my future. -
Wow! Nicely done.

I wish! I'm struggling with fluid intake because I'm not thirsty. -

I've never known a guy to get to "that point" and back away. Then again my buddies aren't superficial and haven't dated super models.

Pork sausage

Holy cow! -
I'm on call this weekend for the first time since surgery. I had to swap a piece of equipment. On a normal work day I'm wearing my uniform but on the weekends it is usually a work shirt and jeans or shorts. I stepped out of my van at a customers place my shorts fell off! O-f-f, off! Needless to say I scrambled to cover my butt and I was quite embarrASSed. The old lady got a show and apparently I got a NSV...

When a woman says that she isn't wearing any underwear it is go time. When a man says that he isn't wearing any underwear it means that he forgot to do laundry. I'm a man! I don't let my wife do everything for me. -
Awww come on tell us how you really feel!
